Ok girls here it is!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
UniSarah · 21/11/2006 21:44

just you and me then friz. big sympathy for all your dealing with teh pox, hope you sa=tay well and healthy through it all. Boy still coldy, I ended up putting him back to bed this morning while observing student was here - he needed it and slept for nearly 2 hours which is unheard of for a middle of day nap for him now.
I'm putting off doing more sorting of my past life. My parents have decided they want their loft back so brought down a car full of my teenage junk.

laundrylover · 21/11/2006 23:15

Hi Uni and Friz, I'll join you in the poorly child wing! Tilly has been proper 'lie on the settee wrapped in a blanket and watch videos' poorly. Yesterday she was so bad she couldn't eat a Malteser. Only sick once but high temp - anyway better today and should be fine for nursery tomorrow.
Hope snots and spots are improving....

I am on a training course for next two days so my daytime MNing will suffer!

Astro - are you going to make the meet up? Hope so....

Frizbe · 22/11/2006 19:46

I hope so too Astro if you don't check in on us soon I shall have to mail you!
Uni, awww poor snotty boy, hope he felt better after his sleep/and today! what did student do then, can she talk to you if he's asleep??
Have you found loads of embarrasing things in your old stuff?
LL, for Tilly, its horrible when they're that poorly, hoping she's feeling better now?

UniSarah · 22/11/2006 22:05

Snot level is down abit, but the coughing has started, sounds dreadfull and he seems to be coughing in his sleep, think I'll open his bedroom door tonight wen we go to bed.

some slightly emabarresing things IF I chose to share them with anybody, but I havn't, and the recycling truck came to day and took them all away for ever. Sleeping bags and some better clothes are going to local homeless people drop in centre. Books, I'm either keeping, selling, charity shop or freecycling .toys are either in binable condition or going to toy libaray.
wedding dress is the quandry. I shall probadly e-bay it, seems better to get something for it than freecycle it.

laundrylover · 23/11/2006 20:50

Poor little mite Uni. Hope the cough goes soon. Well done on the clearout -I want to look at freecycle but fear it may be a slippery slope to a house full of junk!

I have had two fab days of training and now can help anyone with their Strategic Planning in a totally Participatory way. I'm dying to put it into action so will have to convince all my clients that they have a total lack of direction, which is usually true anyway.

Is everyone else on holiday/banned from MN/hiding in the woodwork or just lurking??? Come on ladies, show yourselves!!!!

Frizbe · 23/11/2006 21:33

Hi LL n Uni, this is a rather odd thread for lack of people isn't it?! hope i've not scared them all off, I'm struggling to keep up with the feb lot, they've done 30posts tonight since I last posted at 7.30ish!!

Uni ds hasn't got croup has he hope he's better soon.

LL congrats on the course! We have no freecycle round here, nearest one is sheffield....

Off to the Lakes this weekend for 'dirty' weekend with dh its our belated wedding anniversary, thanks very much to my mum who is having poxy kids! (reminder they have chicken pox, they're not poxy!) hurrah!! so expect lots of posts from all the missing people by then!

UniSarah · 24/11/2006 15:09

freecycle seems fun. I've had mails from 2 other unicyclists I don;t know wanting my old books! however they are now promised to teh 1st person to mail me. just hope she comes and gets them when she said on monday.
I still have another box to decide about- might try and sell some as includes some 1950s Angela Brazil and E, Brent dyer girls school stories, hard backs with dust jackets.
Don't think its croup, he seems able to breathe fine. Oh oh,boy just woke up, 40 mins- about normal.
ttfn

Cadmum · 24/11/2006 19:29

Sorry for being MIA...

I can barely keep up with real life these days.
Nothing much to report but I do have a confession to make: DD2 hs not even had her 1st jab. I fluctuate between thinking that I should have it done ASAP and never at all.

DS2 has been asking when we are going back to New York or Ottawa; he doesn't like not understanding all of the conversations around us and he finds skating a chore now that it is instructed in German. Poor wee lad. I really feel for him.

I must get my bones off to bed before I fall asleep on this chair. I just wanted to check in and let Friz know that she hadn't scared me off!

laundrylover · 26/11/2006 20:21

Poor DS2 Cadmum. Do they have lots of Xmas stuff happening in Vienna that'll cheer him up?

Where is everybody???????

Went to the farmer's market today with my friend who is 11 days overdue....brought back lots of memories!!! Hope she starts tonight or they will induce her tomorrow evening - she has already been told she can't have her home birth as the baby isn't far enough engaged.

UniSarah · 26/11/2006 21:10

spmpathy to LLs friend. I remeber that well. Boy never did engauge . hope hers is less relucant t come out than he was.
My MiL is boring me me almost to tears AAARF+GH. I've just escaped to hang nappies on the airer and am stealing a little MN on teh way. She lonely coz FiL is away with work for 2 weeks so invited her self down here at 24hrs notice again. ARRRRGH.

Frizbe · 27/11/2006 21:03

OMG Uni how long is she staying

LL, how's your friend getting on?? hope your ok too!

Caddy, sorry to hear ds isn't getting on well at the mo, sure he will settle soon, its just taking him more time to realise that he's staying for a bit, seeing as you've been bouncing around the world a bit upto now.....{{{Hugs}}} to you all

Astro, where are you???

dh and I have had a lurvelly time in the Lakes, can't beat a bit of fine wine, good food and chilling out
dd1 and 2 had a great time at grans, class reactions when we picked them up, dd1, 'they're here' quick hug, then back off to playing happily, dd2, quick look, then back to her toys, then after about 10 seconds, double take, and grabbed onto me with a huge hug, and she didn't let me go for half hour including chewing of my shoulder!! bar one quick hug for dh, then straight back to me

UniSarah · 27/11/2006 21:28

Gald you had a nice time friz. Sounds l ike the kids coped fine how about the GPs?
MiL has gone, phew, was only an over nighter. we were all at a falimy christening yesterday between Inlaws place and ours. SO, miL who is rattling around a big house on her own for 2 weeks while FiL is visting India for work ( she went with him for 2 wks , but all the decription we have had from her is negative stuff about cockroaches, food, slums etc) Decided that she should come and stay with us afterwards because she was going to be half way here already and could follow us home from christening coz she doesn;t know how to get to our house on her own.

fgs- we have lived here 4 years, its not complicated, DH had to spend a good 30 mins going over and over with her how to get back to M way for her journey home ( Its sign posted from about 1 mile from our house). She went ON about how she not enjoying being alone AND how shes not eating much and not shopping for food " coz its not worth it for just me". And how nice it was to eat a home made soup - all we had planned for post christening supper so just had to stretch it to 3.She looked daggers at me this morning becasue i was reading while eating my breakfast not talking to her ( I'm NOT good at communicating in teh morning).
This is same woman who thinks we are " made of money" becasue we shop at sainsburys ( 1 mile away) not Lidl (3 miles away). And bangs on and on about how poor they are whilst always being dreesed well and running 2 cars for 2 people. We KNOW they are not a big income, but frankly neither are we.
Sorry she really gets my goat at times.Thankfully i had a plan to go to a friends for coffe this morning and I stuck to it so was ushering her out the door at 9.30 with boy in pushchair heading for teh bus stop. Even then she was saying- can I give you a lift any where? Like I'm going to take boy in a car with no car seat? Or did she expect me to carry car seat back from friends on teh bus with teh pushchair?

Rant over.
thank you for ignoring me , its probadly for the best. I shall go and rant at best friend tomorrow.

Frizbe · 27/11/2006 21:51

Certainly not Ignoring you Uni your welcome to rant at me anytime!!
Glad she's gone for you tho, really sounds like you two are not anywhere near the same wavelength.....I'm taking it the soup comment was intoned with daggers?? or did she actually mean she liked it? You'd better hope she doesn't move nearer if anything happens to her dh.....

Frizbe · 27/11/2006 21:51

Oh GP's were ok with it all thanks, although my mum had to do most of the work as dad was working both days, he did come home early on the sunday to spend a bit more time with them...men eh!

UniSarah · 27/11/2006 22:00

Thank you friz. I think she really did like teh soup- It was quite good leek and spud.
It raelly annoys me how she s trying sooo hard to have a miserable time while FiL is away by not shopping for fresh food and just eating tinned stuff from the back of the larder or food shes cooking for her charges* at work. Its as if she doesn't think shes worth buying food for.

  • Low funcioning autistic men so probadly the same things over and over.
Frizbe · 27/11/2006 22:27

gahhhhhhh nothing worse than feeling sorry for yourself eh! mil's......sounds like she needs a good slap, thwack!

laundrylover · 28/11/2006 09:43

Friz, the weekend away sounds great - whereabouts in the Lakes did you get to?

Uni, I enjoyed your rant! Thank goodness she didn't stay for the whole two weeks and I really hope she's not a MN spy!

My friend went into hospital at 6pm last night as still nothing happening. We can only sit and wait for a phonecall now. Hope she at least gets a natural birth and not a section......

Frizbe · 28/11/2006 19:46

at MN spy for Uni ll, hope not eh!

We went to Windermere, lovely hotel with very good food, twas where my beloved 1st took me a few months after we got together very 'womantic' one of those places with great personal touches and soooo relaxing, ahhhhhh, what a shocker to be back to reality!

dd2 has been very cute today, kept coming over to me, pulling my top down and nuzzling my boobs, before making a huge smacky kissy noise on my cheast and wondering off again not sure if I should be discouraging this or not? hope she doesn't start it in public

Frizbe · 28/11/2006 19:48

Oooo LL are we still doing the meet? shall I email Astro??
SS has an instet day that monday, so I shall bring him too, or if its off I shall keep him at home!

Frizbe · 28/11/2006 19:48

inset that is !

laundrylover · 29/11/2006 10:45

Friz, I am still up for the meet up but Astro seems to have disapearred!! Yes I reckon you should email her - maybe I will too so she knows we're after her! Who else is coming from the Feb thread?

My friend had a baby boy at 9pm last night. Nearly 8lb and sounds a bit traumatic as he wasn't breathing at birth and has spent the night in SCBU. I am kid free today so hope to go and give her a big hug and box of chocs....

Astrophe · 29/11/2006 12:19

I'm here I'm here!!! We went away for the weekend and got back yesterday am, but have been washing since then. How many sets of clothes can two children wear in 4 days?? You'd be surprised (or perhaps not...but I am!) I have done 5 loads so far, and DD wet the bed last night, so theres another load.

We went to York on the weekend and I was unpleasantly surprised to see signs for the sculpture park quite a long way fom Derby! I really want to come but will have to check mapquest for travl times as DD is diabolical in the car at the mo.

DS is cruising, clapping, saying hello (unconfirmed, but it sounds like it anyway!), waving, not sleeping, still no teeth, had his pneumo jab and had one bad night but was fine.

I'm taking ds to dd's nursery for an induction day (hah!) today as he is starting 3 hours on friday arvos this week. DD will go at the same time, and I will go to the gym and get very slim and beautiful! I'm looking forward to having the time to myself, but feel a bit strange about leaving my baby - I didn't lave dd at nursery until she was 2. I know he will be fine, its a lovely nursey, and its onlt 3 hours, but but but...silly me!

Hows your frind LL?

How is ds Uni?

Caddy, wish we could pay you a visit. We do plan on 'doing' europe for 6 months or so before we go back to australia...but thats in another 2 years! Hugs to you and your ds.

Hi Friz

Hi everyone else!

xx Astro

laundrylover · 29/11/2006 13:01

Astro, good to have you back!! the sculpture park is very close to the M1 so fairly quick and easy to get to - really hope you can make it or who will Tilly fight with?

latest news is that my friend's baby is out of SCBU and guzzling at the boob! just had a text that another friend had a boy on Monday - 2 weeks early. me and the girls were at her 3 year olds party on Sun so reckon the pass the parcel must have got her going!

Astrophe · 29/11/2006 15:53

oh, the AA website is telling me 1 hour 25 mins which means about 2 hours by the time I take the wrong exit etc...will have to think...

UniSarah · 29/11/2006 21:37

LOL at pass teh parcel, should it be pass teh bundle?
Boy is OK, still snotty, but fine in himself. He no longer objects to having his nose wiped. I do have to extract toys from the snot sometimes tho.. surgested to teh sing and sign teacher than Eds shaker ought to be washed rather than used by next class!
Dh is up stairs in living room playing teh recorder! hes got hooked on it since finding my old one in teh pile of stuff from M&Ds loft. Christmas carols at teh mo, was teh wonbles theme a few mins ago. Still its quieter thanteh trumpet so I don;t mind him playing it in teh evening after bedtime.
I have some more work lined up, 3 days teh week after next. will be the 1st time Boys spent a whole day with any one except me or dh! hope my friend copes, she has a 22 m/o of her own as well. She will have him 1 full day and 1 afternoon and dh will have 1 full day and all 3 evenings.
Have fun at your meet up.
