pregnant LMAO at you throwing a bottle at your dp's head ... Love itGrin glad you have made up! Sleep deprivation has a lot to answer for!

I have managed a cereal bar all day, still no appetite at all, when i do sit down for a meal dd2 seems to need fed/changed/winded etc i have not sat at the kitchen table with dp & dd1 to eat since i was pregnant, i like to let dd1 eat with her dad as he has been at work all day & gives them a chance to catch up before bed time. I have lost a lot of weight, i am thinner than i was before i got pregnant, but the no desire for food is getting on my nerves.., i hate eating for the sake of eating ? Plus most of what im eating has no nutritional value, my pre pregancy tastes have not returned, so still cant face eating fruit/veg & most meats?

Still no word from goats ? Thats a shame, hope everything is ok? missing her words of wisdom Wink would be great to hear how pippa is getting on ? So come back goats if your reading thisSmile

Missus2ndwife · 10/11/2014 14:24

Thanks ladies. Nice to know I'm not alone at being unable to put my baby down. I don't mind soothing him, I just can't do anything else ;0)

I'll investigate a vibrating bouncer too as this sounds like a top tip! Will keep you posted

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 14:31

Sometimes I jjst have to leave R to cry if I'm going to have a shower. And if it's not wind then he usually falls asleep! The other one is obsessed with dora the explorer so an episode of that gets me washed and dressed!

Health visitor just been. R is nearly 11lbs!! He seems huge compared to 6lb 1 when he was born. Not suprised though given amount of time he's on the boob.

binkybunny · 10/11/2014 14:42

fedup my mum and hv suggested not picking up every time she cries and it does work even though it's hard to leave her a few minutes. Most of the time she is either overtired or has woken herself with her flailing arms and is back to sleep within a minute. I'd never leave her to cry for long or if I thought there might be something wrong but it has been a great step forward in actually getting sleep, food or things done.

The other thing my mum told me with to hold her hands onto her chest and rock the crib while she's crying, it also seems to soothe her back to sleep within minutes!

That said I am now laid on the sofa with her snuggled up on me even though I have plenty that needs doing this afternoon. Sometimes it's just snuggle time Smile

binkybunny · 10/11/2014 14:44

Sorry meant missus not fedup!

Errrr2012 · 10/11/2014 15:26

Mine just has to be left while I sort out dc1. She's a bit more chilled than he was as a baby so it's not nearly as hard as I was excepting, yet! Saying that I'm currently cuddling windy baby while Peppa pig (the unexpected new addition to our family!) entertains 2yr old DS.....must attempt to prep tonight's dinner at some point!

Errrr2012 · 10/11/2014 15:26

*expecting! Not excepting!!

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 15:27

What did people do in the days of no tv???

Errrr2012 · 10/11/2014 15:31

fed I shudder at the thought of no tv!! And I was one of those 'my child will not have lots of screen time' types, that has all gone out of the window....the shame

Shirehobbit · 10/11/2014 15:36

I'm struggling a bit with two, partly because C is so much more the velcro-baby than DS ever was. I kind of end up feeling like a bit of a rubbish, part time parent to both of them. I know it gets easier, but I do feel I'm letting them both down Sad

FlipFantasia · 10/11/2014 16:00

I'm finding 3 grand at the moment too (dd2 is one month old today! Time is flying...). I have to leave her to cry sometimes (and try not to go mad at her siblings waking her up to 'play'). She has a set of lungs on her! But managing mostly ok - house got messy enough to finally make me tidy yesterday! We got a new rug for the living room which made us clean up a bit. My mum is over from ireland in just over a week and I can't wait!

To anyone feeling bad about being a bit rubbish at parenting the older kid(s), seriously don't worry about it. The Velcro baby stage is so short, and they'll be playing with each other before you know it. Some cartoon time now is nothing in the grand scheme of things!

FlipFantasia · 10/11/2014 16:01

Ps Pregnant this is old but 'buttwing' had me snorting out loud recently!

Pregnantagain7 · 10/11/2014 16:07

shire don't feel bad I think hat is just part and parcel of having more than one child just think in a year when they are running round together how nice it will be.

Posh coffe with my childless friend wasn't as bad as I expected ds1 was quite good and didn't get food on her Grin

pebble82 · 10/11/2014 16:26

First day on my own with baby without hospital staff. She just refuses to sleep in her cot, opting to only sleep on me or suck my boob constantly. There is no way she did this to the nurses, why me?

Having an "oh shit I have no idea what I'm doing" day. When you go for a shower do you take the baby into the bathroom with you? Stupid question probably but like I say, I've no idea what I'm doing!

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 16:31

I do pebble as the sound of the shower calms the baby!!

STIGZ · 10/11/2014 16:35

Yeah pebble i take dd into bathroom in her bouncy chair or her swing, that way i can keep an eye on her and dont have to rush if i know she is ok and can reassure if she wakes upWink

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 16:37

err I just have to look at how efficient DS is with the iPad to feel shameful!!

Captainmcgraw · 10/11/2014 16:38

Yep TV is essential on the days with both of them!

For showers have you got a bouncy chair to leave baby in outside shower? If baby was asleep in cot in other room (think future) I'd leave her there and take monitor. However since having DD I've resorted to showering in evenings (and every other day at moment despite being covered in vomit constantly...)

Me23 · 10/11/2014 16:56

Haha captain I hear you re showers! I must stink! I have been known to give myself a top and tail when I can't make it into shower (sorry have totally outed myself as gross) what can I say? I'm an AP parent sacrificing my hygiene needs for baby's need to be Velcro!

flip (I just wrote your real name and bolded it before I realised oops) just you just reminded me that v is also a month old today I hadn't even reaslised (bad mummy) where in Ireland is your mum from? My parents are from Ireland too. It was the 10th anniversary of my mums death yesterday (I'm not suprised I felt so anxious yesterday)

My house is such a mess it's starting to get to me I managed to get x2 loads of washing and tumble dryer and dishwasher on then there's no time for tidying so it looks like I'm not doing anything!

pebble baby is showing you how much you were missed she just wants to be with you all the time. I know it must feel daunting after all this time surrounding by medically trained staff and machines to rely on but you are all baby wants and needs you'll be fine Smile

fatpony · 10/11/2014 17:02

Stigz, I lost all my pregnancy weight in two weeks and am about six pounds under pre preg weight at the mo. Just through sheer loss of appetite. It is gradually coming back so hang in there. I tried to eat small simple things like marmite on toast, yoghurts and so n...

sazzlehopes · 10/11/2014 17:04

Ruby some nice unisex clothing for boys are tootsa mcginty, indikidual, beau loves, boys&girls, h&m and Zara boys is good. The first few are not cheap like h&m but they are nice and worth checking out when there's a sale on. I've bought a few sale things at almost half price which works out well. They are excellent quality and good to pass on down. You'll soon love dressing boys I promise!

Ive also resorted to more cbeebies than usual for ds1, but like everyone says its short lived and when N is having a mammoth feed there's little I can do!

We had a dreadful night sat, he didn't settle until 4am and even then not for long. Last night was so much better, 2 good stretches of 3 hours so feel better today. I'm officially 2 weeks off dairy and hoping that's made a difference. He really lives to only sleep on me tummy to tummy or actually on his tummy so we had a mother are voucher so I've invested in an angle are monitor so I can allow him in his front without the SIDS worry... Am I mad?

Also anyone else doing dairy free the new Hugh F-W book is ace. All dairy and wheat free recipes-going to make the amazing choc brownies tomorrow! Yum! Hickey laid out, simple page of recipe and a picture-my favourite kind of cook book!

flip it still makes me chuckle every time she says it! :) think he will still be known as buttwing by dd even when he's 18!

Me23 I don't think you are gross! I very rarely get a shower in the morning I usual jump in the kids bath after they get out and usually spend it dodging Captain Hook and jake and the neverland pirate toys.

God I wish I had lost my pregnancy weight after to pregnancies practically back to back I have 4 stone to lose Blush

I joined slimming world on Wednesday I had a sneaky peek on the scales this morning and have lost 4 pounds which I quite chuffed about.

MundayCakes85 · 10/11/2014 17:16

My little Velcro baby still has a cold- 2 nights of her sleeping on my chest as she can't breathe lying down :-( Hope it starts getting better soon.

I applaud anyone coping with 2 or more children at once- you lot are doing amazing!

Still got half my weight to lose, but don't envy those with no appetite. Please remember to look after yourselves, don't want anyone getting ill.

FlipFantasia · 10/11/2014 17:29

Me so sorry to hear about your mum's anniversary - always such a sad day (my dad's 29th anniversary was in Oct and I was just relieved dd2 chose a different day to be born!). I had wondered about your irish connection Smile. My mum is from Limerick but married a Cork man so we were raised in Cork city (where she and some of my siblings still live). I do miss ireland a lot, but very happy where we are in New Jersey (I spent years in London too and did my undergrad in Aberdeen so have been out of cork a long time!). Glad your meds are taking care of things again btw. Hope the anxiety stays away...

Ruby I agree that boys clothes can be dullsville (navy and brown - yawn!). I love places like H&M and polarn o pyret (not cheap but their outerwear is lovely and bright and lasts and lasts - the fleece and outer layer we bought for DS will still be good for dd2, so about 6 winters of daily wear - all their outer wear is from there). Basically bright red, bright orange, bright green, bright yellow are what I go for. I also do no camo or military type stuff (for pacifist reasons). My favourite brand in the US is Hanna Andersson (though their girls stuff is way better).

All you ladies who have no appetite and are lighter than pre preg - I am so jealous! After 3 pregnancies close together I'm way overweight (borderline obese). My husband has actually just started the 5:2 fast diet and I'm lurking in that section of MN. I think I'll do it but with more calories on my fast days due to breastfeeding (just waiting until my 6 week check to make it official). Now that I'm done with kids I want to be able to feel (and look) fit and healthy!

Ok, I did a load of laundry just now that was so crammed that I'm paranoid I'll break the machine! Keeping an ear open for the sound of carnage...then off to walk and pick up the older DC from preschool.
