Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 07:44

Just very sicky here too and he never goes more than 3 hours between start of feeds - jealous of those with long stints and I've got the oldest baby I think!

mrsb87 · 10/11/2014 07:49

Oh fedup I know that one all too well. Let nights feed was the first one ever where he hadn't thrown up all over me! The gabion is making it thick like porridge though which is horrid.
Well he slept from 11-3 and then from 4:15 and is still snoozin. He appears to be a lot more content in himself, no more piercing screams and no more choking in his sleep. Like I said we're still in puke city most days but at least he isn't in pain anymore Smile

mrsb87 · 10/11/2014 07:52

Ooh this week I have my friend coming to stay over night tonight, and also some pretty nappies coming in the post!I It's sad that my life has come to the excitement of nappies in the post.

YellowWellies · 10/11/2014 08:04

Mrsb I'm really chuffed the gaviscon is working! [smile

Yawn had to set an alarm to get us up - have got my GTT at 9am.

Fedup Lil's one of the oldest two (but one of the smallest too) and she rarely goes for 3.5+ between feeds. She'll get there when she fattens up! Remind yourself that frequent waking is a natural protection of BF against SIDS, yawn..... Envy

Pregnantagain7 · 10/11/2014 08:13

Mornin all

Aaarghh what a night dd2 had a croup attack in the night ended up in bed with us r was wake a lot probably down to dd barking like a dog. Dd1 says her chest feels tight, r decided it was time to start the day at five I'm so tired i can barely stringent a sentence together. Oh and me and dp had an argument at 4 this morn due to my lack of sleep and his lack of help, ended with me throwing a bottle at his head. We are friends now though just one of those snappy sleep deprived moments.

I actually feel like I'm on some crazy endurance game show at the moment or maybe a baby/child version of the hunger games! Grin

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 08:21

Grin pregnant I'm with you on lack of help from OH. Normally he isn't too bad but when he's hungover he's more than useless.

Glad the gaviscon is working, that's great!

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 08:23

Thanks yellow R not so small now but maybe he's just feeding himself up. HV coming today so wonder what he'll weigh now!

mrsb87 · 10/11/2014 08:39

I must remember to get more today as the doctor only prescribed 1 Box to see how we got on. yellow how do you give Lil her meds?

pregnant I'm sorry you've had such a bad night. I don't envy you, you must be super woman with all those kids!

fatpony · 10/11/2014 09:24

Bump, my DH and I regularly look at each other in the morning and say who put the baby back to bed after the 3am feed? I often have no memory of it!

ruby, have you checked out Verbaudet (online) for boy's stuff? They have nice corduroy trousers etc and don't just resort to the old dinosaur/tractors/trains stuff...

Pregnantagain7 · 10/11/2014 09:33

Sorry that was a bit of a rushed post before I left for school/nursery.

badger your pile story made me laugh it sounds exactly like something my dp would do

mrsb glad your lo is getting some relief with the gaviscon.

Everyone with babies struggling with reflux/cmpi/wind issues you have my total sympathies. It's not something I've ever experienced but it sounds incredibly difficult. I find it hard when r wakes a lot but at least he doesn't cry it must be really hard if you know your baby is in pain.

I'm going to meet a friend for a coffee this morning with the two youngest children. She chose not to have children and is not the most child friendly person. Last time I met her I gave ds1 a cake and he was covered in chocolate she said he won't touch me with his hands like that will he? Hmm

Think I'm in for a fun morning! She's chosen the venue which is v up market and probably one of the worst places to go with a one year old that is into everything.

Wish me luck Grin

Fedup it's good to know others have occasionally useless partners too!!
If I hear but I've got work in the morning once more grrrr what the fuck do you think I do all day?
(Ok so i am meeting a friend for coffe today buts it's not a regular thing for me to sit in posh places having coffee!Blush)

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 10:18

I know! Work work is actually easier - I've done both I should know! You can sit in peace, eat at a normal pace and with two hands and go to the loo on your own!
I'm sitting in a cafe now feeding R whilst ds1 does his play ball class. Feels quite calm and civilised (erasing manic morning from mind of both crying and not wanting to wear what I picked out!)
Good luck pregnant my friends (even those with kids) have much calmer kids that ds1 and always suggest coffee places but I just can't go unless it's attached to a soft play or he's in the kitchen, shaking the chocolate shakers etc etc

YellowWellies · 10/11/2014 10:20

Pregnant baby / child version of the hunger games - made me giggle! The wee buggers are relentless aren't they!!!

Mrs we give Lil 0.5ml of ranitidine three times a day by oral syringe, I weight the dose timings toward evening and night as that's when her reflux causes most pain. It tastes minging and she's getting adept at spitting it out, but if I give it when milk drunk she doesn't have the energy!!!! Grin

Am resenting spending a toddler free morning stuck in our local diabetes centre for two blimmin hours for the GTT. I wanted to make a cottage pie and bake biscuits (oh the irony!) this morn.

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 10:22

ruby I like gap for My son (get good discounts of 30 - 40% off) and H&m are pretty good too.
Although I often look on at the girls stuff thinking how lovely some of it is!
DH text to say I'm allowed an early night tonight... Obviously feeling guilty!

YellowWellies · 10/11/2014 10:22

Fedup your DS sounds like mine! Meh my view is that life wears most people down so I'm chuffed he's got lots of errr "spirit" Grin

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 10:49

Exactly. He's so confident too and not at all shy which is definitely more of a plus (the down is that he can run off / not care if he's without me)

binkybunny · 10/11/2014 10:53

I think Issy knows when it's me on night shift, she was an angel all weekend for daddy and last night she didn't sleep until 1am, up at 4.30 which thankfully dh did, then refused to go back in her crib so has spent the morning in bed with me.

She's just fed and is now being whingy and won't go in her Moses basket or bouncy nd I'd love a shower seeing as last night she threw up down the neck of my pj top!

First full day on my own today too so feeling a bit teary!

Me23 · 10/11/2014 10:56

Good luck for your gtt yellow I'm sure it'll be fine.

Saw gp today and as I thought she's upped my dose of Bp med to x3 a day (the original dose.) so fingers crossed tha will control it, it was working before I think she weaned me off prematurely. My anxiety has also returned this week, was on the verge of a panic attack a few times and have been very withdrawn from everyone. I know it's related to the Bp going up and worryif about that so I hope once these tablets start working it will settle down.

gun I hope things are ok with you? You haven't been on here lately.

Also hope things ok with goats

I don't know what I would do without this club and fb it's so good to know people are out there to talk to and are going through same.

YellowWellies · 10/11/2014 11:01

Lil is laid on my lap producing a ripping volley of farts. In the middle of the diabetes centre waiting room. Everyone must think its me Envy Grin

binkybunny · 10/11/2014 11:31

Yellow Grin.

me hope the meds kick in soon and you start to feel better.

I finally managed a shower and some toast by putting the vibrate and music on the bouncer Smile. How any of you with more than one child ever manage to shower or do anything I don't know!

Missus2ndwife · 10/11/2014 12:02

I also think all you other mommies with more than one are amazing. I don't know how you manage to do it all.

I seemed to have developed a Velcro baby who cries as soon as he's put down. It makes doing anything tens times harder with a 3wk old nuzzled into my neck Grin

How do other mommies manage to put their babies down and do things?

bumpbangbump · 10/11/2014 12:11

Second baby gets left to cry a bit more in my case. Although this morning her last feed of the night/first feed of the day resulted in some more sleep so I had a scream free shower while cbeebies babysat my eldest!

Yellow, that made me laugh. These babies have such brilliant timing!

Me, hope the meds kick in and help bring the anxiety down too.

binkybunny · 10/11/2014 12:16

missus get a bouncer with a 'magic' vibrate button, sometimes it's the only way we get to eat/shower/go to the loo without listening to crying!

Captainmcgraw · 10/11/2014 13:21

missus in answer to your question 1) I don't get much done and live off toast 2) run around like a maniac trying to do a few things in five minutes on rare occasion baby can be put down 3) develop my skills of doing things with one hand 4) my current favourite - baby pretty much lives in a sling and I ignore advice about not cooking etc. (clearly I'm very careful and ensure baby is not close to heat sources or plummeting knives etc.

It's hard but it doesn't last forever. (Before you know it you'll instead be wondering how to do things whilst also making sure they're not up to mischief, entertained, not tantruming etc.!)
