Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

Anyone used Colief? Seems virtually incompatible with bf - add 4 drops to a few tablespoons of just expressed milk before each feed!? This is definitely not going to happen, especially on days of looking after both children. Wondering about having milk in fridge to take some out of bottle onto a spoon each time but what about fact you'd have to keep opening and closing bottle and it wouldn't stay sterile? Agh these things annoy me, seems like ff is the only way to effectively give them

fedupofrainydays · 09/11/2014 15:10

I used colief when bf ds1 - it was a massive faff. I did exactly what you said you would do so maybe wasn't being very sterile about the whole thing but it worked ok.

Can any second time mums remebver what happens at your six week check? Not had mine yet but can't really be bothered as just asked me questions and then sent me on my way. Already got two appointments for R to do so 3 feels a bit much!

fedupofrainydays · 09/11/2014 15:38

I meant to say last time

Captainmcgraw · 09/11/2014 16:39

Thanks Fedup. Yes I think it was mainly just questions and a bit of a waste of time. Here they combine it with jabs (probably to make you go!)

BadgerInBury · 09/11/2014 16:45

Tmi alert! I've been constipated on and off since giving birth and it's made my internal episiotomy stitches sore. MW suggested internal piles might be confusing matters. As a last resort I asked DP to pick up some Anusol while he was at the supermarket this morning. All a bit embarrassing, I'd rather get my own bum cream, but we had his sister, husband and their kids coming over for lunch and I needed to get sorted - they're lovely but I don't know them very well so not comfortable being messy and unwashed in front of them.

He comes home to tell me there wasn't any but it's OK - he's called his sister and asked her to get some pile cream for me on the way over to ours! Shock He couldn't understand why I was so mortified... His sister understood though. The exchange of ointment and cash was extremely awkward...

Kirstipops · 09/11/2014 17:32

Omg Badger Grin haha! Hope the cream helps though. I'm nearly done taking my iron which I think must be making me constipated :(, a week to go....

Assuming I'm a good girl doing my pelvic floor exercises - when will I be able to sneeze worry free that I won't leak???Confused

Oh no Badger! I think I'd kill him for that!

We've had a nice relaxed weekend. I tried ds with his first bottle today and thankfully he took it, although he only had about 30ml from the first and about 50ml from the second which didn't seem like much, but I've no idea how much he takes when I bf. How many ml should I be offering for a 4 week old?

I'm getting ready for the witching hour - the last few nights ds has screamed all evening for no obvious reason, I'm hoping he's not going to make a habit of it.

YellowWellies · 09/11/2014 18:11

Bump sorry thought you meant the anti reflux 'comfort' milks. 40-50% of CMPI bubs will also have a problem with soya - there's only one way to test. I don't know if a white tongue is normal for FF I'm afraid.

We went to a pottery painting cafe and soft play today. The kids made some fab Christmas tree baubles with hand and foot prints on. Smile

Missus2ndwife · 09/11/2014 20:11

Kirsti I'm wondering the same thing! Must do more pelvic floor

mrsb87 · 09/11/2014 22:26

Pretty sure old AF is back. All bleeding stopped for a few days now I'm in the worst mood and all my usual symptoms. Ugh. Joy!

YellowWellies · 09/11/2014 22:50

Mrsb nooooo that's just not fair! Last time mine took 11 months to return, gawd I hope its not quicker this time.

mrsb87 · 09/11/2014 23:30

11 months! Bloody he'll it's only been 4 weeks for me. Poor dh has been getting the shirty end of me all day, bless him he's done loads round the house too today and cooked me tea! .....

I should cry about being puked on more often

Sorehead · 10/11/2014 02:43

Quiet on here tonight.... Hope this means lots of sleeping babies Smile

MundayCakes85 · 10/11/2014 03:39

Just having a bit of boob action here after attempting to put saline drops in her nose. Not very successful! Another night sitting/sleeping upright due to excess snot bleurgh!

mrsb87 · 10/11/2014 03:44

Yep a sleepy baby here, not quite as sleepy as last night but certainly can't complain! Hope everyone is sleeping soundly.

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 04:15

R sleeping better too. He was even awake at last feed and settled himself to sleep. Usually I need to feed him in to a coma!

Annoyed with DH though. After last night drinking adventures he was too tired to do mjch today and most of all too tired to do the 11 pm feed so after I've cooked and cleaned up our roast he's off to bed ??

RudyTuesday · 10/11/2014 04:21

Second feed time, although it's been a very grunty squirmy night so have been up more times to check out what he was up to.

Am finding boys clothes very same-y, keep looking wistfully at girls outfits but I don't think I'd be forgiven by DP.

fedupofrainydays · 10/11/2014 04:30

Ugh. Puke everywhere

Me23 · 10/11/2014 04:33

V had a 3.5 hour stretch from 12:30-4 though now looks wide awake! Hope she falls asleep soon have to be up at 7.

Sadly not so good here. Up a lot, really bad wind poor little man.

Shirehobbit · 10/11/2014 07:40

Morning everyone - hope your babies all gave you some sleep, last night.
I've been lurking but not posting (though I've been on the FB page a lot - easier to use on my phone) but we had quite a week as our first with DH back at work and me with two babies to look after. DS was ill (for the first time ever) then little C started with a temperature, too Sad - I don't think I've ever been so scared. Thank heavens for 111 and the out of hours doctors. Luckily, they were fairly convinced it was a viral, rather than bacterial, infection, so prescribed her paracetamol in tiny doses and we had to wait it out. Poor baby practically ended up with the thermometer welded to her armpit I became so obsessed with monitoring her temp! Blush But it finally broke yesterday afternoon and we got a little more sleep last night, so I am feeling loads more positive (though knackered) about our second week!

What are you all looking forward to, this week? Smile
