Happy Birthday Yellow!

Rudy Infacol works after a few days use so needs to be built up. It took about 3 days to kick in with Issy.

Both Dh and I had a decent sleep last night. 10pm feed, asleep by 11pm and didn't wake until 5am Shock I woke to feed her at 3.30 but she was so asleep I took HV advice and left her to sleep. Feeling like a new person today Smile.

Sorehead · 08/11/2014 07:58

Does anyone know if Colief and infacol can be taken together?

Glad people are starting to get more sleep! Smile How old are your little ones?

Errrr2012 · 08/11/2014 08:09

My DD will be 4 weeks on Monday. Been using infacol for about 4 days, I think it makes a difference cause she's definitely easier to burp. She's still pretty gassy though.

binkybunny · 08/11/2014 09:20

3 weeks tomorrow! Infacol has def made a difference. We stopped it at the end of week 1 and had 3 or 4 nights of screaming and crying. She went back on it and was fine after 3 days although still a bit windy and whingy on an evening not screaming all night. Not sure if you can give both colief and infacol together though

fedupofrainydays · 08/11/2014 09:31

Yes can take together as I did we ds1. They do different stuff

My baby is 3weeks tonight and agree with others: infacol takes a few days to build up to see benefits.
My HV said to continue using with every feed otherwise you're back at square one. Although it could be pot luck, last night we didn't have the witching hour niggles from 5-8pm as he slept straight through.

mrsb87 · 08/11/2014 09:47

Infacol didn't make that much difference for us. I'm holding my opinion on the gaviscon as I want to give it a fair chance to work.
I'm going to try expressing now.......wish me luck!!

MundayCakes85 · 08/11/2014 10:31

Morning all- major leakage here think the scene in Bad Neighbours when DH brought Etta up. He took her for the 7am feed so I got 5 whole hours to sleep this morning. I do love that man. Boobs like boulders meant E got it full in the face and I hand expressed into a milk bag. Classy! Grin
What's everyone got planned today?

puppythedog · 08/11/2014 10:35

Happy Birthday Yellow from all of us at The Kennel. ??

STIGZ · 08/11/2014 13:21

fedupofrainydays · 08/11/2014 14:38

Happy birthday yellow!
Am just back from a 3 year old party and I'm shattered. DH gone out to watch rugby and go boozing with the boys so am on my own this pm / night. Eeeek as ds1 has eaten his bodyweight in sweets and cake = major sugar high

STIGZ · 08/11/2014 16:43

Ahhh good luck for tonight fedup your hubby will have a lovely hangover in the morning, so make sure you give your ds lots of sweets in the morning aswell Wink

Me23 · 08/11/2014 17:06

Happy birthday yellow hope you're having a good day.

Almost bought the ergo today but shop was out of stock! Tried demo one on and it seemed so easy to use. I'm going to buy it from another store tomorrow.

V gave us a 4 hour stretch last nightSmilewish she wasn't so noisy though I spent the first hour awake as kept thinking she would wake.

BadgerInBury · 08/11/2014 18:48

Happy birthday Yellow! Hope you're having a good day and that you're eating a mahoosive slab of dairy-free cake right now.

We went to an NCT sale today and I bumped into a woman who hugged me, asked after DP's job, couldn't believe Baby Badger was a month old already, and generally seemed to be a great friend of mine. I have absolutely no idea who she was. None. Baby brain is kicking in...

We've had good sleep here too - two 6-hour nights in a row! I am very grateful.

Still no word from ohthegoats and the others declared MIA, I see. Hope all is ok. Funny how you start to care about folks you've never met!

Missus2ndwife · 08/11/2014 19:35

My mummy has arrived on a plane!! Hurrah!! There is defo something to be said about having your mum meet your first born. She shed a few tears thinking how much my dad would have loved meeting our baby but she totally fallen in love with him and threatening to take him back home with her already :)

I wonder if she'll still love him at 3am tomorrow morning when he won't sleep?

Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday night!

Sorehead · 08/11/2014 19:44

fedup- I've been abandoned by DH tonight too. Hope your baby lets you sleep tonight!

me23 & badger- hope you continue to have good sleeps Grin

missus- is this your mum's first grandchild? I love it when my mum comes round to see me, and she's only 10 mins away so I get to see her a lot. How long' your mum with you for?

How would I know if my c section wound was infected? I have a lumpy bit to one side which the midwife said she was fairly confident it was scar tissue (or similar) but today, that side is sore- like a mild ache/ pull behind it. There's no heat or weeping etc. Does it just sound like normal healing? The section was just over 3 weeks ago.

fedupofrainydays · 08/11/2014 20:04

Ds1 in bed and survived bath time with both. It was quite nice going up to the new loft conversion and watch wll the fireworks from the doors up there. Nice being in the warm and dry!

R now firmly on the boob - prob all night long!
I can't help with sections sore but my stitches down there were both a bit lumpy and often experienced a pulling sensation

STIGZ · 08/11/2014 20:13

Aww missus enjoy your time with your mum ! He will be wrapped around her finger already Wink

sorehead i am sometimes getting the pain you describe, i was at the doctors the other day for urine infection, they checked my wound and said its healing really well, i think it might be just the nerves reconnecting?? But deffo just get
a wee mot at the doctors just in case ?

Wow badger six hours... Chuffed for you! Im sometimes getting about 5 hours during the day if i have had her out in the fresh air, might start going on a midnight walk and see if i can get six hours at night!! But i am honestly grateful for anymore than one hour, which is what i got at most with my first dd

me fingers crossed things are getting better on the sleep situation ?

mrsb87 · 08/11/2014 20:46

sorehead my section wound has lump on none side, mw said not be as where they "cast off" the stitches. It does sometimes get a bit sore and pulls a bit even at 4 weeks post section. If it's weepy I would get the nurse to check it out. I was on antibiotics for mine and now I'm on a cream as it hadn't quite cleared up.

Happytimes31 · 08/11/2014 22:19

sore mine is the same, am hoping it is ok! No weeping or anything but don't want huge amounts of stiff scar tissue...

YellowWellies · 08/11/2014 22:30

Thanks for the kind wishes Smile . Have had a lovely birthday, even if a monsoon meant a last minute change of plan to don onesies and drink becks blue on the sofa in front of Game of Thrones, rather than brave the local fireworks display. Really wanted to take Jonas to his first display but he and Lil are too wee for an hour in freezing Scottish rain. We had a lovely walk this morning in the woods round Falkland palace and lunch at a local organic farm.

On the lumpy c section thing, mine went massively lumpy and rock hard from 3-5 weeks (but wasn't hot) and in week 6 that swelling beneath the skin (like a hard scar tissue?) has virtually all gone. So it might just be part of the healing process.

fedupofrainydays · 08/11/2014 22:33

Damn. Wish had gone to bed at 9 as trying to feed R now but he's having none of it so he will no doubt wake up as soon as I sleep!
No sign of DH yet... Hmmmmm.

fedupofrainydays · 08/11/2014 22:41

Just had a drunk call - he's on his way home and 'should he feed the baby' when's hes home? Ur..... How about no!!!

Sorehead · 08/11/2014 22:50

Sounds like my lumpiness is normal then :) I was just starting to panic as I'd been pretty much pain free for a couple of days. I suppose it's easy to forget that we've had pretty significant surgery.

yellow- sorry to hear the weather necessitated a change of plans, but the alternative still sounds pretty good!

fedup- my 'D'H is still out and not expected home any time soon. Last weekend, when he came home from a mammoth drinking session he suggested I go to bed and leave him to look after the baby and was quite affronted when I told him to stop being stupid and go to bed! (He was out last weekend and is out this weekend as last week was to 'wet the baby's head' and this week is a stag do but after this, he's not out then until Christmas)

How does O know when I'm just about to eat, and why does he then choose that moment to start crying? Good for post birth dieting I suppose....Grin
