Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

OP posts:

I thought that too re collecting milk (I use Milkies btw) but I only really collect an oz at a time and it gets mixed with expressed milk as part of the feed DH does.

Well dS almost choked on the gripe water. Not sure it's going to work for us unless I start putting it in a bottle as the syringe is a nightmare.

Pregnantagain7 · 07/11/2014 14:16

Hi all hope everyone's good I feel like I've hit a wall with tiredness today. I'm grumpy and bad tempered dp is doing the night shift tonight I can't wait. I'm having a bath clean pjs and into bed. I think he realised I was at the end if my tether today when I banged my back and burst into tears and shouted at him.

When I think about it though it's not suprising I'm shattered today I've done the nursery run, the school run, registered rs birth, tidied the house for the estate agent coming round, cooked lunch, had a meeting with estate agent, and prepared dinner oh and three loads of washing. Only the school pick up dd1s swimming lesson to get through!

Welcome whippet I think we all feel like we don't know what we are doing sometimes there is usually someone here who can give you some advice :)

Geez Pregnant!! No wonder you're tired. You've done enough for two people there let alone one who's just had a baby.

We are back on 2hourly feeds again. I think I might increase his feed amount and hope that stretches it out again and possibly stop some of the niggling. I wish I could have a nap now but he's chattering away to himself Grin

fatpony · 07/11/2014 15:54

Gosh pregnant, just reading that makes me feel knackered!

DH V KINDLY did a night shift last night armed with two bottles of formula but I still woke at 3am (when the baby normally would) to express and had patchy sleep after that!

sazzlehopes · 07/11/2014 17:04

We are getting bright green poos over here. Is that the dairy thing or something else? I'm bf...

Or too much fore milk apparently Sazzle...

MundayCakes85 · 07/11/2014 18:49

Hello Whippet come join the middle of the night fun!
Well done you Pregnant I'm very impressed. I managed to get DD to sleep in her sling by doing the hoovering then standing next to the washing machine/ tumble dryer. She then slept through a visit from a friend with her 18 month old twins!!
We've had a bath now trying to feed into a milk coma!
No idea on the green poo Sazzle but hope Ned and you are ok?

fedupofrainydays · 07/11/2014 19:03

Wow pregnant! Perhaps also you could consider a name change or we might think you have lost it completely in going for another one!!! Ha ha

The odd green poo is fine but if happens a lot then make sure each boob is drained before you switch to next. It's linked to too much fore milk which is sugary and causes upset tum and means not getting enough of the fatty creamy hind milk

Pregnantagain7 · 07/11/2014 20:39

I would actually love more.... But it's not going to happenGrin

It was very busy day I've crashed and burned on the sofa now. I love this time of night I finally get to have r to myself for a bit even though he is a bit whingey. I am determined to have a chilled out day on Sunday am going to have a big family roast and head for a walk in the park need a bit of family time. Things have all gone a bit tits up for us recently and we've made the shitty decision to sell our house it's become a millstone around our neck and we need a better quality of life so it's going on the market :(

I keep telling myself it's only bricks and mortar but there are lots of memories here, on a more practical note god knows how I'm suppose to fit 2 adults, 4 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats into a smaller house! At least it will make me have a big clear out Grin

FatFlashingLazer · 07/11/2014 20:53

Hi everyone. Finally getting round to posting on this thread, although I have managed a little update on the FB group.

I was induced in the end last Sunday, two days earlier than planned due to suspected preeclampsia. I had our little boy on Tuesday 4th November, 12 days overdue, weighing 7lb12. He is amazing!

We are having a few feeding issues which I've mentioned on the FB group, due to tongue tie mainly, but we have made some progress today now my milks come in.

It's great to be on the post natal thread properly.

Also, Pregnant you are a superhero!!

Captainmcgraw · 07/11/2014 20:55

Think we're in the 6 week growth spurt here - R been chomping like a wild animal on my empty feeling boobs for last three hours. On plus side it means there's been much less time for screaming!

I ended up chucking away bags of expressed milk last time as I realised they were just foremilk. Such a shame wasting it but horrid to get the effects of it so had to be done.

Survived DD parents and toddler gymnastics class with DS in carrier. Survived being the operative word though.

Captainmcgraw · 07/11/2014 20:58

Pregnant and others that have 3+ kids I think you're amazing - I shall not be joining you but have utter respect for anyone who can handle more than two!

Pregnantagain7 · 07/11/2014 21:07

captain it gets easier after two! I call them my little ducklings unfortunately dd2 (4) misheard me when I called Ds1 duckling and now calls him buttwing. Bit embarrassing when we are in the supermarket and she's shouting "come on buttwing" at the top of her voice Blush

Grannyapple · 07/11/2014 22:05

Hi ladies...just checking in...been lurking but find it easier to post in the fb group!

I agree with pregnant so far...Adam has just slotted in so far with the other two, tho when DH is back at work next Friday might be a different story!

Just about managing the breastfeeding after the TT...so far no formula top ups today...yay! But worried how I'll manage the feed if with other two to look after on my own.

Visitors have now started at two weeks..had 2 lots of friends round with their kids today...5 kids incl baby in here at one point..with 3 very excitable toddlers..shattered now. Got SIL & 15 month old nephew down from tomorrow for a few days...will be glad come Tuesday when they've gone & DS1 & DD are in nursery!

Good sleeping vibes to all xx

Whippet81 · 08/11/2014 03:12

I told you I wasn't cut out for this malarky. I have just fed him whilst sitting on his wet nappy.

YellowWellies · 08/11/2014 03:33

Today's my birthday and the first person I'm getting a cuddle from this year didn't even exist this time last year. How awesome is that! Smile Smile Smile Smile

And she gave me another 3.5 hour stretch!

Kirstipops · 08/11/2014 03:47

Lol Whippet! But you were distracted cos you were feeding your baby so you got the important bit right ;)
It really is a shame the milk from the collection shells can't just be given alone and is only a "mixer" at best, I'm like a leaking tap it seems, I dripped 3oz yesterday, about enough for another feed in itself!
DH has won tickets for a comedy gig in 3 weeks time in Manchester and is saying we could be there and home again in the same day (it's to be in studio audience of a 3pm filming of Vic & Bob's sitcom House of Fools), flipping typical as he never wins anything! My sis went to T in the Park for the weekend when my niece was 7 weeks (she had expressed milk topped up with formula) so she reckons I could definitely snatch away for the day, hmmm...
P.S. Good morning to the night feeders x

Kirstipops · 08/11/2014 03:48

Happy birthday Yellow!

Missus2ndwife · 08/11/2014 04:13

Happy birthday Yellow!! Hope you have a fab day xx

RudyTuesday · 08/11/2014 05:01

Happy birthday yellow!

Evening colic is awful here - inconsolable crying from half 8 to midnight for the past few nights. Does anyone know if it's effective to just use infacol in the evening, or is its effectiveness is reliant on building it up by using throughout day? Seems daft to give him it during day when he seems ok?

mrsb87 · 08/11/2014 05:02

Happy birthday yellow, I hope you have a fun day!
Oh dear whippet don't worry though as we've all had similar moments I'm sure!
Trying to get gaviscon into small child, take 1: small child pukes it out instantly!
Take 2: mummy knocks the egg cup the second batch is mixed in all over the floor...luckily with only a tiny bit left in it! Not what you want at 4am!

Sorehead · 08/11/2014 05:03

Happy Birthday yellow Cake Enjoy your cuddles!

granny- no wonder you're shattered! I find it absolutely exhausting having other people's young children around DS.When nieces and nephews come round, I'm constantly on high alert because they're quite bouncy. And when they're not bouncing round, two of them lean right over his Moses basket when he's asleep and breathe (or cough in one case) all over him try to stroke him, which, being young children, they can't do particularly smoothly until I can't take any more and it's clear no-one else will say anything so I tell them off, only for it to restart 2 mins later

Errrr2012 · 08/11/2014 07:31

Woweeee! 3.5hrs sleep and just fed her and she's straight back down. If we can adjust the timings a bit we may be getting somewhere!! Although I could just be getting overexcited having had a bit more sleep.....
