Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

I gave up on Infacol as DD was awake all night for the few days we gave it. Don't know if it was coincidence but it is quite sugary.
Last feed before attempting bed.
Oh and I sat through storage hunters- Americans bidding on storage units WTF??

Sorehead · 03/11/2014 23:54

Apparently there is a UK series starting soon- saw an advert for it the other day (oh dear- think I need to get DH to confiscate the remote control tomorrow as I obviously watch too much tv)

Hope everyone has a good night. I currently have a baby on my chest but not convinced he'll stay asleep when I put him down though. DH is lying next to me snoring mildly....looking forward to kicking him to make him stop if/ when DS settles in his Moses basket Grin

Sorehead · 03/11/2014 23:55

A UK series of storage hunters that is

fedupofrainydays · 04/11/2014 02:27

It sure is sore Blush

I didn't get a chance to get gripe water today so will try tomorrow

mrsb87 · 04/11/2014 03:24

Well it can't hurt to give it a go! Poor do is convinced it's him, Dylan is so good all day and then cries all evening Sad

mrsb87 · 04/11/2014 03:25

*dh

YellowWellies · 04/11/2014 03:29

Sleepyhead working v well so far! First stretch an effortless 3 and a quarter hours Smile

fedupofrainydays · 04/11/2014 04:30

That's good yellow just hope I'm not disappointed when I get mine tomorrow. Not sure what I'm going to cover it with as because ds is so pukey I can't leave it bare!

BadgerInBury · 04/11/2014 04:59

Oh my god. I am so exhausted. Bb started feeding at 8pm and finally conked out ten mins ago. Am working up my nerve to move her.

Mumtobeyorkshire · 04/11/2014 05:41

Morning all! My 6 week old has, for the last 2 nights, dropped her 3am(ish) feed so now cluster feeds until 11:30pm and then wakes around 5am for a feed. Is this normal/ok? I'm not complaining as getting much more sleep- I'm just worried she won't get enough food/hydration! X

badger- that sounds horrible! Hope moving her went ok and that you get some rest today!

Had an OKish night, would have been better if DH actually listened to me though- would have saved DS some crying (he was still hungry after his 11pm feed). He also insists on trying to put DS down when he's still awake, which just means he lies there grunting and waving his arms round, albeit with his eyes closed but he doesn't look comfortable when he's doing it (DS not DH!) whereas if he falls asleep on us, he doesn't do it. Any ideas why this could be?

Sorehead · 04/11/2014 09:19

bump- did you get back to sleep?

sazzlehopes · 04/11/2014 09:38

Sore N does the same. Happy to sleep on my chest but thrashes like a maniac in his cot?!

My night was killer. I didn't get any actual sleep until 3ish. The whole feed, keep upright, wind routine takes about an hour then I transferred him to the got and he would sleep for 10 mins, then wake splutter and cry and then we'd start all over again. Badger I feel for you... Can't believe you fed til 5. I hope you got a lie in. I must have had about 2 hours in total. Yuk. I'm now paranoid that the soy latte I had in the day affected him and I should quit that too.
Off to the doctors in a bit so will see what they say/give me....

I am also interested in the head cranial stuff. I normally find that stuff a bit of nonsense...trouble with having a more medical bod as a husband - but so many people have recommended it to me it can't be? Right?

Sorry to hear of all the bad nights, was the same here as usual. The worst thing is when she wakes she is up for 2+ hours at 1:30am this is not good. Then she sleeps when I need to get up with kids to get ready for school! Typical.
First day on my own with just me as baby other 2 at school.

Now do I buy sleepyhead or not gosh it's so expensive but if it results in better sleep then well worth the money. Didn't someone say they just use normal crib/cot sheet over theirs? The covers are so expensive and I read that they cannot be tumble dried so would be no good for our puker baby.

Me23 · 04/11/2014 10:23

Meant to say V is the same sleeps soundly on me but makes so much noise in carrycot so much so she often keeps me awake even when she is asleep!

Sorehead · 04/11/2014 10:42

me- don't know how you manage to get other children ready and to school on time after a night like that! Hope you can have a nap today.

It's strange how there's such a difference in noises when sleeping in a basket and on people, but glad O (DS) isn't the only one :)

hefner · 04/11/2014 10:43

T does the same with grunting when I put him in his Moses basket, no idea why. He seemed really uncomfortable last night and this morning he is trying to feed but keeps pulling away but then immediately wanting to feed again. I'm tempted to try infacol/gripe water but I think I'll wait to see if it gets better once I'm off antibiotics. Going to the Drs this morning to find out how much longer I have to take them.

Today was my first day needing to be up and ready to get dd to preschool since DH went back to work. It went surprisingly smoothly and I've even managed to empty the dishwasher and put a wash on since getting home. Off to the Dr and post office soon, then I think I'll collapse till it's time to fetch dd!

fatpony · 04/11/2014 10:46

Sore, mine is the same. For example last night at 0230 he fell asleep on the boob and went peacefully into his bednest. After the 5am feed he was semi awake, thrashed around for about 30 mins in his cot. Doesn't seem to be in pain but makes so much noise, grunts etc, that it is hard to sleep through. He has windmill arms so tends to push his blankets down and last night was the first time our gro egg thermometer showed blue (ie too cold) so might see if he fits either of the sleeping bags we have been given...

binkybunny · 04/11/2014 10:48

Well I don't know if it's a few days on Infacol, larger teats or swirling bottles but we managed a 3 hour stretch from 11pm, then another from 4am. Just need to get that two hour feed/burp/ not wanting to be put down back to just over an hour and I'll be very happy.

I'm getting a Snuggle bundle to trial and review this week so hope that will help with putting down, has anyone else used one?

Just got my Close Caboo in the post today, going out later to try it out. Did someone ask for a link to the Sling Facebook page? I think this might be it but it's a closed group so not sure if this works?!

fatpony · 04/11/2014 10:48

Talking of sleeping bags, dumb question coming: presumably you don't have to bother with feet to foot etc? As the excess sleeping bag would bunch up (they do seem long) and also because there is no risk of them slipping below the cover, so long as their head cannot go through the next hole?

I ordered a baby bundler for easy night nappy changes as if there is one thing to get him wound up. Arrives at my local waitrose today!

RudyTuesday · 04/11/2014 12:12

I got some gripe water but can't get it into a thrashing baby. Think I'll have to buy a dropper from somewhere.

I have to say despite the screaming evenings he is doing pretty well at night - sleep from 12, wake up for an hour at 2, awake at 6, feed for hour, sleep till 9 (9.20 to be precise, he is clockwork baby), lie in crib making squeaky noises for half an hour, then downstairs for homes under the hammer.

We broke out the dummy last night. He'd been on the boob for 5 hours and clearly just wanted to suck. It did the trick, he went to bed sucking away then I extracted it once he was settled. Felt guilty seeing him use dummy and promptly googled the pro's and cons, but keep telling myself you've just got to do what works for you.

Shirehobbit · 04/11/2014 12:12

Me23 - I use either muslins or fitted cot sheets over the Sleepyhead. I know it kind of goes against the safe sleeping guidelines (as technically the sheets could gather around their face if they moved about a lot) but I don't believe it's a massive risk and changing the cover daily/buying more is major expense and hassle.

RudyTuesday · 04/11/2014 12:14

fat baby bundlers are a great idea, I'd never seen them before, am going to invest. Thanks!
