Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

Rudy DH took over for an hour, now I'm on the sofa too. Maybe this is her 3 week food fest? Cup of tea and strictly should do it

MundayCakes85 · 03/11/2014 04:47

We're on the sofa as well. DH took her for an hour but nothing seems to knock her out. Maybe this is the 3 week food fest?

mrsb87 · 03/11/2014 04:53

bumpandbaby are you on the FB page? I put a link up for the poddlepod the other day

Sorehead · 03/11/2014 06:58

Can someone give me details of the fb group please? (If no-one minds me joining that is)

Kirstipops · 03/11/2014 07:39

I think so as sleepy head can be used at night where as a pod can't

fedupofrainydays · 03/11/2014 08:24

Depends what you want it for. I can't decide whether to buy one or not!

binkybunny · 03/11/2014 08:31

Poor DH only just got to bed an hour ago. We also had a screaming, windy, Velcro baby but it was the last all nighter he can do before going back to work so he packed me off to bed. I didn't sleep great though as I could still hear her, I really feel bad for our neighbours!

fedupofrainydays · 03/11/2014 08:39

Don't know if they help binky but have you got anti colic bottles? Supposed to reduce the bubbles going in.
It's still taking me ages to do feeds in the night. Over an hour and he needs to burp twice or wakes within seconds of being put down in pain. He's very farty this morn too. So I only get 1.5 hours poss 2 between feeds and we are almost 7 weeks!

sazzlehopes · 03/11/2014 08:56

Wahoooo had a better night. N settled in his cot better and I got 2 hours between end of feeding/winding sessions before beginning again. Which compared to the half an hour stretches id had before seems a bloody luxury! I feel like a new woman this morning despite the rain!

We've also cracked open the reusable nappies - I am so over the waste and the expense already at 4 weeks. Last time I didn't start until 8 weeks with ds1 but this time I know the routine and its easy. Bless him his bum looks huge now but so lovely and cosy with that nice soft material on his bot!! Grin
Off to get him officially registered now!

Also I'm excited for all the sleepyhead feedback. A friend is lending me hers tomorrow! See if it adds to the improved night I had....

Thanks kirstipops

Had a better night here, although DS only went 3 hours between feeds rather than his normal 4 over night. Anything is better than the 3 hours of sleep I got the night before though!

Does anyone else find that after a few sleepless nights, when you do manage to get more than a few hours of sleep, you feel worse?

Sorehead · 03/11/2014 09:19

DH back to work this afternoon and I'm a bit scared!

binkybunny · 03/11/2014 09:24

fedup we have Avent anti colic bottles but have had Dr Brown's recommended so will be buying these next time I'm near somewhere that sells them. Anything to stop her from being in so much pain Sad.

binkybunny · 03/11/2014 09:26

sore head I'm dreading Wed when DH is back to work, even though I have my parents arriving at lunch time. I'll have 6 hours on my own and I'm terrified, I don't really feel like I'm cut out to be a mummy, everything stresses me out so easily!

Missus2ndwife · 03/11/2014 10:08

Binky - I just bought the avent anti colic as my bubba likes them. Have heard Dr Brown's is good too & worth checking mothercare which has a sale on at the moment.

We also had a good night's sleep here. Screaming between 11pm - 12pm (don't know what that was about) and then he slept until 3.30am. Fed, then started grumbling from 6.30am.

I bought a Cocoonababy off eBay which bubba seems to prefer sleeping in. I might have to put it in the Moses basket tonight :)

hefner · 03/11/2014 10:22

Ugh, I feel rubbish today. DS has had a few really good nights and I got used to having a bit more sleep, but the last couple of nights he's gone back to waking every 2 hours and taking ages to settle. I think it's my antibiotics making him uncomfortable Sad.

For those considering sling choices, I've been using a Moby wrap which is lovely and snuggly but I'm finding it too much of a faff to tie it and I can't get ds positioned properly so I'm going back to using a buckle carrier. I loved my ergo when dd was a toddler but ds doesn't seem to like the newborn insert so I've bought a boba 4G. It's very similar to the ergo but with a slightly higher back, and the infant insert (included with the carrier) is a cushion rather than a cocoon. I love it, it's so easy to use and sends ds straight to sleep.

YellowWellies · 03/11/2014 10:40

Binky have you tried swirling the bottles of formula rather than shaking them when you make them - my SIL reckoned it was because bottles were vigorously shaken that FF babies had such bad wind? She swore by swirling her kids bottles.

Lil had a good night until 3.30 when she started refluxing really badly - which would be about right to be the result of the chocolate cake DH made me (the ingredients of which 'may contain traces of milk) so today I'm having to totally ignore the big fat cake in the fridge to see if we get a better night tonight. Torture!!!! I'm going to have to make some cookies today to get my calorie fix!

HV just been for the 6 week check - Lil's 8lb 1oz and sitting between the 9th and 25th centiles. Smile Not bad for 4.5 weeks early.

binkybunny · 03/11/2014 10:58

Yellow will give that a go and makes sense as they do end up with little air bubbles. The chocolate cake situation sounds like torture. I'm not sure I'd have the willpower to resist, I'd have to give it away/ throw it out!

fatpony · 03/11/2014 11:13

That's a good tip about swirling the bottles! Might try that tonight.

My little one had 125ml of formula at 10.15pm and then again at 1am. He guzzles it down. But I think he might have too full a belly to sleep properly so will switch back to a breastfeed for the second feed after 10pm, usually 1-2am. He gets so hungry though but at least my milk supply seems to be good still. Touch wood.

Me23 · 03/11/2014 11:37

Went to gp for my weekly blood pressure review and she has taken me off the labetalol feeling equally happy and anxious about this. I asked her to listen to my chest as I've had a cough for ages and now wheezing and of course I have chest infection so on antibiotics (there's always something! I just want to feel well)

gun re anxiety it has got better in the sense that it was there all the time a few weeks ago whereas now it is occasional I hope it will eventually go on it's own. I have been feeling/getting very stressed out by things lately though for eg getting us all ready to go out feels beyond me this morning almost had a meltdown trying to get us all to gp on time.

hefner thanks for boba 4g info will look it up.

Me23 · 03/11/2014 11:39

gun sorry I meant to ask how you are doing? I hope things hae got better for you?

fedupofrainydays · 03/11/2014 11:50

Sleepyhead purchased. Better be worth it!

fedupofrainydays · 03/11/2014 12:04

Me thinks we are entering a growth spurt... Feeding all morning! Time to clear the diary!
