Bump I have a Hana wrap and love it. Won't come loose if it's tied tight...I feel pretty confident in it although I will move onto the ergo when N gets bigger and heavier. For now though the wrap is cosy and feels lovely having him so close.
Yellow yes you're right I guess it was a way of testing. Will see if I have a rough night tonight because of the 2 oz I gave him an hour or so ago. So frustrating though to have all that colostrum sitting in the freezer! Shame my older boy doesn't like milk otherwise I'd give it to him!!!

I'm totally going to get gripe water tomorrow

Yep - I'm an ergo fan and R loves the insert!

I think I'm falling apart- first I got "housemaid's knee", then a RSI to my wrist and now I think my back's about to go. Can feel it twinge every time I pick up/ put down E. Oh and the arches of my feet ache from all the bouncy walking Smile
Anyone else have weird baby injuries??

fedupofrainydays · 02/11/2014 22:01

I've hurt my knee and shoulder. Did my knee when preg but still bad now, I have to walk sideways down stairs! Shoulder I thknk i did carrying R awkwardly round the house Truing to do jobs. I need massage!

fedupofrainydays · 02/11/2014 22:03

They do different things bugs so am going to try both. Last time I used colief too but right faff if bf. Might try and see if works for R though

Me23 · 02/11/2014 22:06

mrs maybe it is easy but I'm pretty much brain dead these days! Need something I can literally just put on and it's sorted. The caboo still requires that extra fabric bit that needs to be tied. The ergo sounds easy and babies seem to like it. Only downside I can see from the reviews is people have said their babies and themselves get very hot in it, have any of you found this? Do you dress them in fewer layers when in the ergo?
Had just got v to sleep so was thinking of heading to bed so popped her in carrycot and ping eyes open and wide awake! The nighttime fun and games begin.

Finally I can join this thread! Hi again all.

Missus2ndwife · 02/11/2014 22:33

Binky - what is the sling FB page?

gunwalloe · 02/11/2014 22:36

All the jelonet users is it staying in position for you?

me how's your anxiety now?

YellowWellies · 02/11/2014 22:41

Me I just take Lil out in a sleepsuit, hat and booties (if its really cold) in the ergo - as long as I've got a cardy or light coat she's toasty. You do get warm with the newborn insert but its OK without - as I'll be using the insert over winter that's cool by me.

I think at 5+4 we are in 6 week growth spurt territory, she's been troughing ALL weekend - easily on the boobs 12-15 hours a day. It only lasted 4 days last time so hopefully half way there to the realms of easy non-newborn BF! Whoop!!!! Smile Smile Smile

DH made me a dairy free chocolate cake for cluster feeding calories, cooked tea and did the big shop with a toddler. Love that man. Smile

gunwalloe · 02/11/2014 23:07

Has anyone tried the multi mam compress?

shop.purpleorchidpharma.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=78&product_id=56

I'm wondering if these would stay in place better. My gaping crack is getting no better :(

Kirstipops · 02/11/2014 23:21

Gun that Mam stuff looks good! My Jelonet stays in place if I put Lansinoh on first then the Jelonet then a breast pad over the top. It's been a week since I started using it and although my nipple doesn't look particularly better it *feels better and I can feed pretty much painfree on that side now.
Is there any way the 6 week growth spurt will pass me by, no?? Just found out DH is working away that week Sad

Kirstipops · 02/11/2014 23:28

Munday I had housemaid's knee too and my right wrist has been sore the last couple of days, it's the sacrum pain that's worse for me, had it for a fortnight now, rendering sling usage impossible SadAngry

YellowWellies · 03/11/2014 02:28

Kirsti some lucky buggers on my last thread didn't really get a 6 week growth spurt - it might pass you by!

MundayCakes85 · 03/11/2014 02:36

Although I'm glad it's not just me, I do feel for you Fedup and Kirsti
Just had a quick clothes change mid feed- poonami all up the front/ back/ out the side of the nappy. No wonder she had her serious face on!!

magichandles · 03/11/2014 02:44

Me E. gets really hot in the newborn insert for the ergo, so much so that we've had to ditch it as my plan to get through swimming as it was just too at the pool and I had to take her out, which kind of defeated the point of having her in the sling!

We've survived our first week with DH back at work, it definitely went downhill from a good first day, but everyone is back at school tomorrow thank god. Had quite an emotional day Friday, it was my birthday and I think I just crashed from what had been a post birth high, so did quite a lot of crying, but felt much better by the next day. And we all survived DD1s birthday party at softplay yesterday which was manic, but just what she wanted!

YellowWellies · 03/11/2014 02:57

Woo BTW I eat my own hat, we tried a sleepyhead at a pals today and Lil managed an effortless 2.5 hour nap. Am a convert! I ordered one at 11pm (feeding with a tablet is expensive Blush ) and its due for delivery tomorrow! Whoop - hopefully it'll give my arms and boobs a break during the growth spurt.

I've just been laughing at Lil, she's milk drunk and I'm holding her up after a feed - during this growth spurt I've learned that if I stroke from the bridge of her nose to the top of her head - she gives the biggest smiles in her sleep. I know having them stuck on you for so many hours can be a PITA but you can see how it makes sense from a bonding perspective, you do know them better after a Velcro clusterfeedathon.

RudyTuesday · 03/11/2014 03:07

Another poonami here, which didn't bother LO, but subsequent ball cleaning during nappy change has been met with noisy outrage. Sigh.

MundayCakes85 · 03/11/2014 03:20

Haha Rudy that made me chuckle. E still wide awake so I'm in bed with hr splatted on my chest. Hope she sleeps soon

RudyTuesday · 03/11/2014 03:22

I must remember to give my mum a hug for those sleepless nights she had in the seventies feeding me with no night time tv, no internet and no disposable nappies. My tablet is a godsend during night feeds (although I agree it can be an expensive godsend yellow)

RudyTuesday · 03/11/2014 03:25

I've relegated myself to the sofa munday, he's wide awake. We went for a long walk today so the fresh air would help him sleep, but it's just given him a hearty appetite.

Kirstipops · 03/11/2014 04:06

I can live in hope Yellow! H's "3 week growth spurt" as forewarned by the bf counsellor consisted of 2-3 velcro evenings spaced put out over a fortnight so it def could have been worse. My sister only remembers the 6 week thing as that was the age when her son and daughter (both bf) started sleeping through the night clasps heathen hands in hopeful prayer...
