KZ - didn't think you were being antagonistic, no offence taken . I always knew that I wanted to take the maximum mat leave that I could, and then make a decision after that. As it is, my current employer is not making me feel very wanted or excited about going back, although I did enjoy the work I was doing there.

Went to see one of my best friends and her babe today (she also works where I do). Her little girl is just 19 days old - the difference between her and DS was incredible. I really enjoy the freedom of being at home and the way that I have complete autonomy as to what we do each day. Also DS doesn't make me sit in deathly strategic meetings!

twinklemegan · 06/11/2006 19:14

Candj and KZ - lovely to see photos of your LOs (meant to say this b4). They're both gorgeous. Had no idea you could do that.

HumphreysCorner · 06/11/2006 20:09

Evening ladies

Hurrah, at last I have a few minutes to myself. Girls both asleep, DH playing squash and cat fed.

Lots to catch up on and hello to anyone new

Have looked at the piccies though-scrumptious. kayzed-Roshi is a gorgeous chubster I went to Tescos today for a cup of tea to pass 1/2 an hour and the lady on the till asked how old Sophie was. When I said 4 months she looked shocked and said her DD was just approaching 4 months and was twice the size. She then whispered-she is all there isn't she? Er, yes. Did chuckle to myself.

Have had a busy few days so now exhausted. DD1 is at her absolute worst-what a madam!!! Was in tears about it on Friday night especially when DH said you don't like her do you? I am with pinkdolly over the desire to have more children but the having them is the easy bit-just don't know if I am capable of bringing them up.

Would love to be a SAHM as I feel the longer I am apart from DD1 the harder it is to handle her as I get used to being without her. I need to spend more quality time with her but find it difficult to juggle both of them. Am sure it will all come out in the wash.

Gave Sophie her first baby food on Sunday lunchtime but last night she was so sick and screaming in pain for hours-it was awful. Gave her Calpol and teething gel in the end and she slept but woke with hunger at 2am. Will try again next Sunday.

Have been downloading Lost but Episode 1 on Limewire is one from the last series-ggrrrhhh am having one more attempt from a different source.

kosh-how's you? Is it that we might work for the same Bank-is it?

Bloss-hope things have improved in your household.

Sophie sleeps in a vest, sleepsuit, fluffy all in one oversuit and I lay the pram blanket over her. Only ever put DD1 in a vest and sleepsuit but she had far more chub rolls . Her hands are always cold but I think all babies hands are. Next sleepsuits have built in scratch mits so make excellent mittens when you fold them over.

I think I've covered everything I wanted to say-won't bore you with any more so have a good evening all. Have bought some paper and am going to start wrapping tomorrow.

Evening all
Fab piccie all!
Re: staying at home! I'd love to remain a SAHM but unfortunately we only got on the property ladder 2yrs ago (we are only 23/24 tho!) and theres no way we could afford it with our huge morgage which annoyingly doesnt match our humble home Am gutted we aren't goin to be able to go to baby sign classes and stuff I cant even afford to go parttime! BUT at the same time am kind of looking forward to going back as I enjoy my job and work with a fab team of people! Cest la vie! ho hum! Was watching Jeremy Kyle today (as you do) & there was a preg 16 yr old on there goin on about her "free" bog house from council and all her benefits she'll get really got me annoyed!!
Sorry rambling now!
Evies got ANOTHER injection on Wednesday it menC I think as shes still catching up with the Pnemu one!
Anyhow going to go and eat some veggie lasange my lovely DP's cooked! YUM
Bye x

HC: Patience hun lost starts soon!!!!!

HumphreysCorner · 06/11/2006 21:20

Ah-but only on Sky and me not got Sky

JanenEvie · 06/11/2006 21:40

BOO! to sky getting it from C4!!
Do you get sky one with a freeview box? Worth getting one if so! Can't miss out on the lost action

HumphreysCorner · 06/11/2006 21:53

Nope-Sky 1 is not included in the Freeview package. This is why I am relying on Limewire (naughty I know ).

SleepIsForTheDead · 06/11/2006 21:54

Hi all, and gorgeous babes...

HC, have you heard of Azureus? You download "torrent"s... I don't really understand what I am talking about but someone showed me how to use it as Limewire is monumentally cr*p... maybe do a search on it if you are interested, my friend downloaded LOST from there.

I am back at work PT but working from home and studio so Sefton with me, I think I have already told you all this tho - sorry if repeating! It is tough tho.
I am LOVING being a mom, I wish I had done it earlier (am 33).. was always waiting for "the right time" to be financially secure etc. Still not! But I want more babies, I reckon I can get another 2 out?

my boy yesterday

JanenEvie · 06/11/2006 22:02

SleepIsForTheDead · 06/11/2006 22:27

Poor you, KZ....
They are so cautious about meningitis, so they must be very sure it isn't... but what a worry for you. Hope you manage to sleep, and all is well tomorrow {hugs}

Thanks J&E awwwww

x

twinklemegan · 06/11/2006 22:53

Kamikayzed, you poor thing. Hope you get some sleep and try not to worry too much - easily said, I know. And give Roshi a big hug. (By the way, I stepped in a big dog poo today too - trod it all the way through the front room!)

HumphreysCorner · 07/11/2006 09:28

Morning ladies

kayzed-how is the rash today? Sophie's legs are covered in a fine rash this morning. I pressed it and it disappeared and she has yet another cold. I think I have some sort of virus as every one of my joints hurts-joy oh joy. What will they do at Great Ormond today?

All you dog pooers must do the lottery. Had better go next door and step in some of their dog's poo-lol.

Right-off to dose up on paracetamol.

Ta ta

kbaby · 07/11/2006 11:13

hi, hope everything is ok now kayzed.

We have had a terrible couple of nights. DS will put himself to sleep in his cot but only sometimes and even if he sleeps on you which is his prefered method then once you put him down he only sleeps for 15 mins. It means he wakes from his nap still tired. The last 2 nights hes woken up nearly every hr but not for food.
Last night was a feed at 8.30 then slept until 12 so I fed him then he woke again at 2, dh got him off to sleep and he slept 15 mins before waking again, I fed him again at 3 but once i put him down he was wide awake again until 4am. im going to put him in his own room tonight as hes waking and playing for 1hr before crying so at least if hes in his own room i can use that time for sleep. in total ive slept 3hrs last night. usandbump how long did you leave lo to cry, maybe its my only option. we did cc with dd when she was 9 months old and it didnt work completly but did lessen the wakings to once a night.

Koshka1984 · 07/11/2006 11:15

hey. just got the PC back. Going into town today to get the pictures printed of jake in a reindeer outfit to make christmas cards with.

HC - i work for one that sartes with an N.....!

not looking forward to it! I have lost half a stone so far, but i have not been sticking fully on the diet to be honest! The way ive been feeling its a bonus ive eaten anything really.
better go bye x

candj · 07/11/2006 11:51

KZ - thinking of you and Roshi - hope the rash clears and turns out to be nothing.

Kosh - good to hear from you.

splat · 07/11/2006 12:03

Morning all,

KZ - hope your LO is ok now, i think you did the right thing. Im totally paranoid about every blotch and blemish that appears on Roo's skin - especially after watching a recent programme about immunisations by Fiona Bruce.

I thought I'd join in on the beautiful bouncy July (and the odd early one in June!) baby parade - havent shown off my little one yet as only just worked out how to do it. Its only taken me 17 weeks! My brain is really mashed after all the sleep deprivation and hormone overdoses. Will include link in sep post.

Congrats to all of you who have posted photos on having such gorgeous babies. We really are a lucky bunch. Have to say after a rocky start - IM LOVING BEING A MUM! Was adament that would never have another - even tho labour was pretty straightforward (altho the little monkey was OP) - but who knows, cant wait around too long as recently turned 33. It was what came after the birth that was the real shock to my system. What an emotional rollercoaster. Anyway things certainly are a lot easier now.

HC - lots of my family members have "oil" in their veins!! Keen bikers to say the least - yes Donnington this year was a bit too close for comfort to my due date! My dad at 63 still rides his Fireblade at stupid stupid speeds.... but after spending his whole working life around fast cars, I cant see him settling with a pipe and slippers! Cant say I follow in his footsteps tho, as I prefer the fourlegged variety of transport.

usandbump · 07/11/2006 12:05

Hello all

Bloss- I hope your boys are feeling better, I love those old films especially The Wizard of OZ (has some scary bits in it tho!)

HC- I hope things with your DD1 settle down soon. I was speaking to my sister yesterday and her DS (2 years)is being absolutley awful at the moment. They just love to push those boundries don't they?
Let me know if you want me to try and get copies of Lost to you, it's no bother.

KZ- How is Roshi? How frightening for you x

Kbaby- Sounds like you are in exactly the same position as we were. Zack was waking as soon as he realised we weren't holding him and needing us to get back off to sleep again.
The cc crying was awful but it has worked brilliantly. We only did it during the day, the HV said if we got the daytime sleep sorted the night times would follow and she was right.
The first time he cried for over an hour, we went in to him every 10 mins and tucked him back in, stroked his head and spoke softly to him.
It was the hardest thing I have had to do and as I said before I cried too and had an awful argument with my DP about it.
BUT it worked and the next time he only grumbled for 10 mins and now he often goes to sleep without making a sound.
Within a day or two he had began to settle at night and now he goes down at 7.30 and wakes around 11.30pm and 3.30am for a feed. He then wakes at 6.30 and I get him up, he generally has his first feed of the day at 7.30am.
I think I always made the mistake of trying to put Zack down after a feed, he now goes to bed during the day 30-60 mins after feeding. I have stayed home alot to get him used to going to sleep in his cot, going out for one short walk in between a sleep and a feed, I wanted to get him really used to our new routine.
Zack now has 4 x one hour sleeps a day and it is fab!! He is sooooo much happier because he is sleeping and feeding well, he now always goes at least 3 hours between day feeds often longer so he has a full tummy instead of continually topping up. My house is clean and tidy, I have a smile on my face and most importantly I have lots of fun and happy times with my boy
The HV said we have been lucky it has worked so quickly and well for us, I think Zack was really ready for a bit of structure.
