Hello all.

Thought I would start this as I know I few people have been asking for a weight loss thread so as we can support each other. I thought we could start with a list of members and some basic stats (I.E, current weight, goal weight and total amount you therefore want to lose). Maybe make Thursday weigh-in day (since I weighed myself this morning I may as well continue with Thursday!)? Good luck to everyone! xx

I'll start:
Kitkat1985:
Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds.
Goal weight 10 stone.
Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.

Hey Team. I've found the first half stone went pretty easily, but this stone left-over not so much. It's tricky because with BF I feel hungry all the time. Need to find some healthier snacks and avoid the left-over choccy biccies! My resolution is to get out of house and do some walking each day. So far, so good! Wish the weather was nicer though. xx

Well I had Christmas off of the diet and am back on this week.

Just weighed myself and I am 11 stone...I didn't put on any weight over Xmas (miraculously as I ate and ate and ate). I was 10 stone this time last year but would like to get to 9 1/2 this year (which I weighed 2 years ago).

Good luck everybody Smile .

KitKat1985 · 07/01/2015 09:37

Good luck Jaykay! Have you got any ideas on how to lose it? Do you find exercise more helpful than healthy eating or do you do both?

I have to admit that I have had chocolate and cake so far this week (the shame)! But I have been out every day for some exercise so that's a start. xxx

kitkat I think both healthy eating and exercise work for me. I put on 4 stone when I was pregnant (the shame ! I literally ate everything) so after I had J I went on a real health kick and was doing extreme diets, exercise videos, long walks etc.

Now I only have a stone to go and can see the end, I am not going to do any faddy diets...just healthy eating and walks. Plus now J is awake most of the time, I don't think I can spare the time for an exercise dvd (plus they are boring now !!).

I'm feeling quite motivated since not putting weight on over Xmas...I thought I would pile it on with all the rich food but amazingly I'm still the same.

Hi again everyone!
After the success of early November I've bounced back up to 11st with Christmas coming and going :( (only a 4lb or so gain but still Angry) so still at least 7lb to lose (or hide)
I've been trying to get to the gym at least once a week, and the odd workout @ home too but it's not always easy to get DH to be around to look after DD.
Also had to stop breastfeeding four weeks ago as my supply had reduced and @ 12 weeks DD weighed the same as she did @ 8 weeks (she started sleeping through the night after about 6 weeks so my milk production plummetedSad)
Downloaded a new app last week called Pt in my pocket by an Aussie woman (she's also on Facebook as HIIT mum)
Amazng all over body exercises and I think most can be done without any equipment. Did the ab workout on Saturday and my core was aching for three days after!
As I no longer have to eat to also feed DD I'm hoping to see more progress with the inch loss.
Good luck to everyone!, X

KitKat1985 · 09/01/2015 11:27

Sounds like it's all going well Jaykay and Zanashar. I'm struggling this week if I'm honest. Must try harder!

Oops, meant to continue,
Whhhhhhyyyyyyyy oh whhhhyyyyyyyyy did I sign up for this???
??????????
Has anyone else resorted to anything stupid to give themselves a proverbial kick up the rear end?

KitKat1985 · 10/01/2015 09:10

Nothing like that but I'm a bridesmaid for a close friends wedding this year and we are going dress shopping at the end of feb. Hoping it'll motivate me a bit! x

@home workout today instead of gym.
Straight leg dead lifts, weighted back squats along with some core work from PT in My Pocket app. Post workout lunch of small protein shake followed by Parma ham, sliced turkey, olives and plum tomatoes. Carb free! Feeling motivated and ready to be good next week. Has anyone else considered working out before their LOs wake up in morning, say @ 6am or so?

TeamEponine · 11/01/2015 17:41

I'm putting on weight Blush Being gluten and dairy free is not good for losing weight apparently. Sad

DutchMummy88 · 12/01/2015 08:21

I think I need to join! I gained so much weight during my pregnancy and was already slightly to chubby at the start, which sort of leaves me 2 to 2.5 stone to heavy at the moment :/

Ive downloaded and printed the NHS 12 week weightloss program and the Couch to 5K app.
Starting today. Really feel like I am ready to finally shift this weight and feel good again by summer! My DP is going to join in with me as he really needs to loose some weight around the waste.

Good luck everyone!

KitKat1985 · 12/01/2015 08:41

Welcome Dutch Mummy! Wishing you good luck.

I've been too scared to weigh myself today - maybe tomorrow.....

KitKat1985 · 13/01/2015 08:48

Right, no weight loss this week have instead put on quarter of a pound. In my defence it has been a crap week for various reasons, but I'm still really disappointed with myself. Also I got DH to do the online Tesco shop this week (he has finally started to be more helpful after his surgery) and he bought me cheesecake as a 'treat' (it's my favourite), even though he knows I purposely haven't been ordering myself 'treats' as I'm trying to lose weight. He doesn't even like cheesecake so both slices in the pack are for me. Very sweet of him, but also a bit annoying too.

I'm putting on weight Sad by this time next week I don't think I'll be breast feeding anymore, so then I can start a proper diet. I have half a stone to shift!

Zanashar · 25/01/2015 00:01

Lost 3lb from last week (not sure how though as have been quite piggy!)
Trying to eat less carbs overall and esp flour but chocolate fingers with a cup of tea are my nemesis !!
Still have a v jiggly belly but with only about half a stone to lose I think it's more exercise I need rather than dietary control ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

How's everyone else been getting on this past week?

TeamEponine · 25/01/2015 16:05

Well done!

I've finished breast feeding this week, so the diet starts tomorrow! I need to shift this last half a stone and I have six weeks to do it in!

Zanashar · 25/01/2015 22:40

Thanks Team, going back to your post from a few weeks ago, about going gluten and dairy free and it not being conducive to weight loss what does your diet mainly consist of?
I've tried GF on and off over the years and find that just a few weeks without breads/pasta/cakes and biccies really helps with the belly bloats. Didn't notice that much of a difference with shape when I tried to be as dairy free as possible but my skin was a lot better than usual . However I can't ever sustain dairy free for very long as I don't do black tea and coffee and my life feels pretty much incomplete without CHEESE!! I Envy it soooooo much!
After an hour at gym today where I sort of destroyed my legs (not looking forward to the pain tomorrow) breakfast was bacon, eggs, tomato, mushrooms and a slice of toast (couldn't resist the bread!)
I'm going with "fat doesn't make you fat, sugar does" for the next 2 weeks and see how it goes. Sad

TeamEponine · 26/01/2015 07:11

I had lots of peanut butter! Lots of gluten free stuff is quite high in sugar and fat, so not necessarily good for the waistline.

Bugger! Weighed myself this morning for day one of the diet and I've put on 5lb in the past couple of weeks Blush I now need to lord nearly a stone in six weeks Sad

Oh well, time to get started on it...

Zanashar · 31/01/2015 15:44

So over the past week I have:
Tuesday : 30 min ab workout (after DD put to bed)
Thursday : hour of badminton (left me drenched!)
Today : an hour at gym with weights and body weight exercises
And I've been moderately good with food over the week too (apart from last night!)
Feeling and looking trimmer (esp in the gut region) but I've still put on 2lb!!!!! ConfusedConfusedConfused
How's everyone else been getting on?

TeamEponine · 31/01/2015 19:18

Not good Sad

TeamEponine · 02/02/2015 06:57

Lost 1 pound in the last week. Was hoping for better, but guess it is better than nothing. Went back on the pill this week, so hoping that is what has masked my incredible weight loss! Deluded!

Zanashar · 03/02/2015 23:49

Well done Team ????! A loss is a loss and slow and steady is he best way to go. Wink

TeamEponine · 15/02/2015 08:10

Right, I have three weeks to get some serious weight loss going! Evil step mother in law is visiting in three weeks, and I know my weight will be one of the things she rips into me for. That's got to get me motivated, surely?!

Zanashar · 23/02/2015 08:22

Lost 2lb in first week of feb but have since gained 3 as unable to exercise for past two weeks after falling over on a slippy floor and ending up flat on my back, resulting in a bruised sacral bone (again!) Confused
Its tKing ages to heal and I'm struggling just bending to pick up DD. the stupid assault course is on 7th March. Hmm Hope it's all better by then

How's everyone else been getting on?
