Hello all.

Thought I would start this as I know I few people have been asking for a weight loss thread so as we can support each other. I thought we could start with a list of members and some basic stats (I.E, current weight, goal weight and total amount you therefore want to lose). Maybe make Thursday weigh-in day (since I weighed myself this morning I may as well continue with Thursday!)? Good luck to everyone! xx

I'll start:
Kitkat1985:
Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds.
Goal weight 10 stone.
Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.

Starting buggy in the park on Wednesday morning
It's like a military fitness class but you take baby in the pram with you

Should be Interesting..... :-)

TeamEponine · 21/10/2014 07:55

I've been looking at doing buggy fit. Looks a little scary though!!! Please let us know how it goes.

KitKat1985 · 24/10/2014 03:47

So didn't shift any weight again this week. :( Need to take a long hard look at my diet and work out where I'm going wrong (too much cheese and too many biscuits I suspect). Need to find some healthier snacks to eat rather than digestives..... xxx

A loss of 2.5 lbs this week Smile I can now get my belt done up on the first hole without it squeasing my belly so much lol.

Kit kat have you tried pink n whites for a snack? Only 50 calories each and pretty yummy.

KitKat1985 · 29/10/2014 03:44

Well done Topmammy! :) Will definately look into getting some pink and whites as well. I know I should snack on fruit but there's something not very satisfying about that! xx

Three weeks since my initial weigh in and I've managed to shift 3lb. Eight more to go. At the moment I'm stuck on the couch constantly trying to console DD since having her pavlik harness fitted, so without being able to get out for walks I'm not sure I will manage to shift anymore.

KitKat1985 · 29/10/2014 18:46

Well done team! Good work! xxx

Salene, how did the buggyfit go?
Well done to everyone who's been good with food and been active.
I've lost 1lb but not been v good. Blush And I've not done any real activity either. BUT I have joined a gym (just haven't been yet!)
As a goal I've signed myself up for the midlands version of THe Major Series in March next year. It's a muddy obstacle course.
Am doing the 10k one so now I need to get fit for that!
Wedding on Saturday, and I cannot do zip up on my planned dress as yet. Will try again tomorrow. ConfusedConfusedConfused
Keep it up everyone! We can all do this!! ??????

KatharineClover · 31/10/2014 07:29

Hi everyone,
I have 1 1/2 stone to lose to get back to pre preg weight - I had put on 3 stone Blush I lost 1 stone through delivery and another 1/2 in the 2 weeks after but everything has stalled and I'm now 6.5 weeks post partum with dS2. With DS1 I put on 2 stone, lost 1 1/2 in the first 2 weeks but the last half stayed with me until I stopped BFing - I really hope that doesn't happen this time as I have hardly anything to wear (most pre preg clothes too small, most mat wear too big, and what does fit mainly isn't BF friendly). I'm combi feeding due to physical complications meaning I don't have enough milk, so I'm scared anything drastic will affect the little supply I do have. DH and I found eating low carb / paleo /primal gave a good weight loss last year (for DH especially I think he lost a stone in under a month), but I ended up cooking twice as DS1 is a bit picky. I'm going to see if I can work out some quick, easy meals for breakfast lunch and dinner and hopefully give it a go - anyone got any recommendations?

KitKat1985 · 31/10/2014 09:37

Could you do omelettes and things Katherine? Or salads (with maybe some added carbs like bread or new potatoes for DS1)? I don't know much about the primal / low carb diets I'm afraid.

Well, I've shifted another half pound. Means I've lost a pound and a half in the past month. I'm slightly disappointed - would have liked to have shifted 3-4 pounds in the month really. Am trying to focus on the fact that at least it's a loss, and I guess with breast feeding it's best that I lose it gradually I guess tries to convince self. I think the key is cutting out the junk food snacks (cakes, biscuits, etc) and trying to exercise a bit each day. Pretty much none of my winter clothes from last year fit me. It's so depressing. Sob. 23 and a half pounds to go!

Oh and good luck Zanashar - 10k obstacle course is definitely an ambitious goal! Good for you! xxx

topmammy · 01/11/2014 05:14

I've eaten way too much tiger bread this week plus 2 chocolate bars I don't usually have plus no walks yet so I'm a bit worried about weigh in on Sunday!

Zanashar · 02/11/2014 15:59

Fri and Thursday I greatly reduced my carbs (apart from porridge for breakfast to keep the old milk supply going!) and stuck to protein (eggs, bacon, chicken) plus salad n veggies as much as I could ( nothing beige though) and it worked!! Weight didn't really change but I definitely lost some bulk around the midriff and managed to zip up the dress myself yesterday for wedding!!
So today I am rewarding myself with Cadburys jelly popping candy ( the big bar!!) and a bag of walker sensations caramelised onion & balsamic vinegar. ??????
But then tomorrow must go back to being good as have realised the assault course is four months away and I can only do a few push ups ConfusedConfused
Kitkat, focus on the positive and remember its always better to lose the weight slow and steady for it to stay off. No crazy diets, make changes that are sustainable and the result will also be sustainable. Avoid bread and pasta ( or anything wheat based) as much as you can because the gluten bloats you. Try it for a week and don't weigh, measure your waist and hips. Or use some clothing that's a struggle to get into and see the difference.

Sorry if I'm going on a bit. Have a good week all! Xx

topmammy · 02/11/2014 19:58

Ooh weigh in was rather disastrous this week. I'm writing off this week and will try harder for next week (by not eating my body weight in tiger bread Blush)

jaykay34 · 05/11/2014 10:34

Well I've still not weighed myself as I know I am nowhere near pre-preg weight so am just going by clothes - but I am now in a size 12.

I feel in the weightloss zone, I've cut out processed food and caffeine, although will allow a treat round my mums or the inlaws.

I'm walking an hour each day and just started the 30 day shred to tone up.

I'm really glad that there's been no more stretchmarks or saggy skin than I had after my twins. I was worried as I piled on more weight this time through sheer over indulgence but have been lucky.

Next week I have my postpartum check and think I will get weighed so will have to face how much I exactly need to lose then.

KitKat1985 · 06/11/2014 10:51

Another pound off this week! Would have liked a bit more but that's not too shabby considering the enormous Chinese take-away I had on Saturday, and all the chips I ate on Sunday. Cutting down the cakes and biscuits definitely seems to be helping. 22 and a half pounds to go! Shock Although having said that I have been musing that my goal weight of 10 stone might be a tad ambitious, given that I was 10'3 pre-pregnancy (size 10 on top, 12 on bottom), and my boobs are currently 4 sizes (!) bigger than what they were at the start of this year. Am wondering if 10'7 might be more realistic as a post-baby weight?

How's everyone else doing? xx

kitkat We are in the exact same place - I weighed myself yesterday Sad and have 22 pounds to go to get to my 10 stone target. I thought I had lost more to be honest as I don't look pregnant or huge anymore but on the upside I have lost nearly 2 stone so I can't be too disheartened. My boobs are also massive, and I'm not even breastfeeding. Infact they look great and I'm still in a Dcup instead of my usual shrivelled B !!

I have my work Xmas meal on 5 December and was hoping to be 10 stone for that - don't think there's a chance so perhaps somewhere around 11 would be nice Smile.

Not gonna weigh myself till my post partum check next week. Infact I am keeping well away from the scales at home for a while - yesterday was the first time (despite saying I wouldn't) and it was really depressing !

KatharineClover · 08/11/2014 18:09

I lost nothing this week (didn't gain though, to try to look on the bright side) :( sometimes I'm making really healthy choices, other time (when tired or out of time) I'm eating too many lactation cookies (and leftover halloween chocolate)

TeamEponine · 09/11/2014 20:27

No loss this week here either! I thought going dairy free would really help, but apparently not Hmm

KitKat1985 · 10/11/2014 15:43

Oh it's all very frustratingly slow isn't it. I wish I could just click my fingers and be back to being a size 10!

OP posts:
jaykay34 · 12/11/2014 12:44

Same here kitkat, I am dreaming of getting back to a 10 - it's just so depressingly slow. After a few weeks of the weight just falling off, I have reached a plateau and lost just 1 lb this week. I know that's healthy and it's more likely to stay off but my target weight just seems so far away.

Well I'm still determined though and going to think of the loss - not what i haven't lost Smile .

KitKat1985 · 14/11/2014 12:51

That's a good steady weight loss Jaykay which is good. More likely to stay off that way.

I've lost just over 2 pounds this week. Means I've lost about half a stone now (well technically it's 6 and 3/4 pounds but it's been a crap week so I'm calling it half a stone). Plenty more to go though! x

jaykay34 · 04/12/2014 09:48

How is everybody getting on ?

I weighed myself today and am now 11 stone - so that's 3 of the 4 pregnancy stones gone. I didn't think I had lost any this week, so am feeling really chuffed.

However, my DP told me that he has bought me Xmas presents in size 10 Sad , because he thought I was back to that size as he saw me wearing something I had worn last year (an oversized jumper that is technically a 10 but would probably fit a size 16 !). None of my other smaller stuff fits, I am actually a 12 at the moment...So now I feel under pressure to drop a dress size by Xmas. He did offer to change it but I don't really want it bigger as my intention is to lose weight. Ah well, it's an incentive I guess.

KitKat1985 · 04/01/2015 09:25

Hello all! New Year, New start! I had a break from trying to lose weight over Christmas and finally braved the scales this morning. Quite relieved to have actually stayed about the same (only quarter of a pound heavier). Means I am now 11 stone 6lbs. Ultimately I'd love to be 10 stone (which is less than I was pre-pregnancy) but I fear that may be unrealistic, but I'd definitely be much more satisfied if I can get to 10 and a half stone. I bought some clothes in the sales and whereas I'm usually a 10/12 on top and a 12 on bottom I'm now a solid 14 and my size 14 jeans are a bit tight if I'm honest. Am going to try and go for a walk every day (hopefully not getting caught in torrential rain like I did yesterday!) and just eat sensibly. It's tricky because I'm still breast feeding so I can't be too strict with myself, but the snacking is a problem. Especially since we still have loads of choccy biscuits around the house post-Christmas. Anyone else getting back on the band-wagon in the New Year?

TeamEponine · 04/01/2015 09:29

Hi all! How's it all going?

I've not weighed myself since Christmas, but my weight seems to be stuck at about 6lb over my pre pregnancy weight.

For those who are bf-ing... How are you finding weight loss? Most of it seemed to drop off quite quickly, but this last 6 lb is being stubborn. I'm walking loads and trying not to pig out on food, but I don't feel able to really cut down on food on case it influences my supply. I've had some issues with supply and feeding, so I'm keen not to mess that up.

Interestingly, my mum said that with me she was stuck with an extra half a stone until she stopped feeding me. I'm hoping this last 6 lb will magically disappear when I stop feeding Grin
