Hello all.

Thought I would start this as I know I few people have been asking for a weight loss thread so as we can support each other. I thought we could start with a list of members and some basic stats (I.E, current weight, goal weight and total amount you therefore want to lose). Maybe make Thursday weigh-in day (since I weighed myself this morning I may as well continue with Thursday!)? Good luck to everyone! xx

I'll start:
Kitkat1985:
Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds.
Goal weight 10 stone.
Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.

Well done zanashar !

I've still not weighed myself..but for the first time in months...my boobs are bigger than my belly. (Although I still have a long way to go until I resemble normal or slim again).

KitKat1985 · 09/10/2014 13:17

Hmmm, so weighed self this morning. Am 11'10 and a quarter pounds, so near-enough exactly the same as last week. Must try harder. It's difficult as my appetite at the moment is huge and I still have a very sweet tooth. That plus tiredness means I keep reaching for biscuits as an energy boost. Going for a walk each day (which I actually want to do as I hate being in the house all day) has been difficult this week as well due to the dire weather. I have at least not bought any more cakes on the weekly shop so I don't have them around to eat. Also none of my winter clothes from last year fit. Sad

Just weighed myself, lost 1/2lb since last week. Not surprised as hit the munchies pretty hard the been feeling quite low/hungry ( biscuits, ice cream, pizza, and epic home baked banana bread! )
Hoping to be better next week as finally feeling upto being more active and having collected weekly, shop the only naughty thing I've allowed is Almond Magnums (though DH will prob scoff them before I get a look in, the fatty!) .........just realised I scoffed TWO cakes with my Costa coffee this afternoon. Confused
Oh well, fresh start tomorrow!
Going to start measuring from next week.
Are we sticking to Thursday's for weighing?

Oh EllaBella that sounds really hard with the med side effects. Can you ask your doctor if there is an alternative with less side effects?

I'm snotty and full of cold so not feeling at my most motivated either. I think it definitely helps though not having ordered cakes etc on the weekly shop as with them not being in the house then they I haven't had any. The crap weather isn't helping my daily walk plans though. Sad

Thanks for reposting thread. I'm not sure how much weight I put on during pregnancy as I refused to get on the scales due to being so massive!
It was mainly bump, but by golly was it an enormous bump!

Still not got on the scales 3 weeks in, but back in my normal clothes/jeans now. However, I have a jelly belly and a half and I reckon about 1/2 stone to lose. Trouble is, all I want to eat right now is cake!...

misog2000 · 12/10/2014 15:04

I rode my horse for the first time on Friday and she coped fine with my extra weight so that's a huge bonus as its my exercise sorted. I've also signed back up with the Weight Watchers app as that is how I lost the weight pre pregnancy so gonna try that again.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties Ellabella :/ must be really tough trying to do,this with the Meds working against you. I'd say you're better off following what you were doing to help the diabetes as that'll be easier to maintain on a long term basis compared with slimming world ( I hear that things like pasta etc are "free" on SW? ??, I'll be trying to avoid refined carbs as much as possible so pasta is pure evil IMO) .
And little walks more often is much better than nothing (what I've managed so far Sad)
LH , wth you on the jiggly belly, that's going to take some time to fix ( lots of core strengthening exercises are on the horizon, squats & lunges as soon as I get baby sling, and perhaps some weights).
DH is also finally getting off his soon to be lardy arse and joining local gym facilities so he can play tennis! It only took him three yrs after he moved!!!
Well done Misog on getting back in the saddle! ??

misog2000 · 12/10/2014 18:22

Yes pasta is 'free' on a green day on slimming world! Which is why it could never work for me as portion control is my main problem so I'd be eating bowls of it every day. The weighing and measuring bit of weight watchers gets me in the habit of eating less, and working out how many points something is makes me weigh up if I really want it or not - everything is compared to a curly wurly for me, is it worth the points compared to a 3 point curly wurly lol.

Sorry to hear you are in pain Ella Thanks

ilovemonstersinc · 13/10/2014 09:10

Ive not weighed myself. I go by how my clothes fit. Currently all clothes fit alebit with a jelly belly.
Will try and cut as much crap out as possible and do more walks when weather is ok other than that I dont sit down at homr always cleaning so thsy should help!

topmammy · 13/10/2014 10:11

Hi Ladies. I've got about a stone and half to shift to get back to pre pregnancy weight. But ideally I'd like to lose 2 stone. Breastfeeding makes me soo hungry though I think so this is not going to be an easy task! I've decided that rather than start a full blown diet, I'm going to just cut out crisps and chocolate and try to make generally healthier choices, and watch my portion sizes. Can't be bothered with counting calories/points just yet!

My son is only 3 weeks old today but my belly is still looking paunchy, I have fat thighs and bum and a flabby back Sad .
I can't remember how long it took me to lose weight after I had the twins 11 years ago..but I'm sure the tummy had gone down by now.
I am eating very healthily and going for a walk when weather permits but am just feeling impatient and angry at myself for piling on so much weight.
I'm normally a size 8 - 10 and none of my old clothes would go anywhere near me right now.
I have invested in a belly binder which i am wearing now in the hope I will shrink a little. And I still haven't braved the scalea as I'm terrified of what I will see Sad .

TeamEponine · 15/10/2014 07:06

I wish I could resist chocolate. If I could I would probably have some weight loss to report. Started needing to lose about 10lb, two weeks later I need to lose about 9.5lb. Not great progress. I'm now able to go for slightly longer walks, so I'm hoping that will start to shift some of it, but unfortunately I have to walk past two chocolate selling shops when I leave my house. I have zero will power Blush

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 15/10/2014 14:38

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one! No willpower, Velcro baby, no sleep, bf and a 2yr old means I'm mainlining sugar and caffeine just to get through the day. It's not helping weight loss at all. Sad
Need to get a grip and control myself!!

KitKat1985 · 15/10/2014 15:01

Carrot cake counts as one of your five a day right?!? Grin

ilovemonstersinc · 15/10/2014 16:42

Lol kitkat. I've been very good so far. Did close to 70 squats yesterday! ! Im finding time to do them while im warming babys bottle up!
Im really getting bad withdrawal symptoms from chocolate :(

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 15/10/2014 17:45

I hate my body. I have no willpower but it makes meso sad to think even if I manage to lose the weight, it'll be saggy and scarred forever. I'll never have a pert defined body Sad
Yes I know, it gave me two babies and for that I'm more than grateful but I've always had a baggy saggy fat body, I've never been happy with it and now I feel so so far from what I want I don't think I'll ever make it.

ilovemonstersinc · 15/10/2014 18:02

Showme im saggy too. I had 3 in the spaxe of 4years Shock buut im trying to stay positive. I read excellent reviews about cross trainers and how they helped someone with their apron of fat after a baby.
Im currently watching what im eatinf and doing toning up stuff.

Its not loads but better than nothing

Salene · 15/10/2014 21:24

I put on 3 stone and I've now 7lb left to lose to get back to prev preg weight

I left hospital 10lb lighter and the rest has come off in 3 weeks
Since birth

I started diet chef rosy to shift the last 7lb , although not sure how I will get along with it as BF and I think I should take in extra cals

Will give it a bash anyway

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 15/10/2014 23:05

There you go - it should be happening like that right?

I'm off to feel even worse than I already did about myself.

topmammy · 16/10/2014 02:49

Show me - don't feel bad about yourself. You've just had a baby, your body has naturally put on maternal fat stores needed for bf whether you're bf or not (sorry I can't remember if you are or not?) Anyway it's irrelevant if bf or ff - we all put on this extra fat and it will come off with a gealthy diet and exercise but not quickly for most people.

www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=2004#_a5y_p=1690776

Even if not bf this article is interesting and explains why we put on weight. It made me feel better anyway.

Zanashar · 16/10/2014 08:33

Show me, topmammy is right! And those scars show the amazing transformation your body goes through to create and sustain another life until its ready for this world, all from the 'chance' meeting of two cells Grin don't forget that. Thinking abt that still makes me smile.
Take it a day at a time, you'll have good and bad days but don't let each bad day knock you back. It's going to be tough but you can do it. x
My belly is forever going to be a wiggly jiggly one now but as long as I have a pair of magic pants or two to suppress it a little I'm hopeful that I can fit into a lot of my old stuff.
On a different note i just weighed myself and am down to my pre preganancy weight..............but there is no way I'm the same shape!! It's like the frame of my chest waist and hips has expanded and no amount of squeezing is getting me into the dress I had in mind for a wedding in two weekends (it was one of my bigger ones too) Sad
So the tape measure is coming out now!
As are the squats, lunges and planks. V impressed with your 70 squats monstersinc! Also goint PGP to attempt Gillian michaels 30 day shred (but over 60 days, as if I can exercise every single day!pfffffft!)
