Hello all.

Thought I would start this as I know I few people have been asking for a weight loss thread so as we can support each other. I thought we could start with a list of members and some basic stats (I.E, current weight, goal weight and total amount you therefore want to lose). Maybe make Thursday weigh-in day (since I weighed myself this morning I may as well continue with Thursday!)? Good luck to everyone! xx

I'll start:
Kitkat1985:
Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds.
Goal weight 10 stone.
Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.

For those of you that are exercising...how old are your babies and did you have a natural delivery and stitches ?

I don't think I am physically capable of squatting yet as I still feel very tender downstairs. I have been walking and am thinking of doing some weights (although didn't know if I could till after 6 week check).

I have bought a belly binder which has done wonders in the 2 days I've been wearing it - but my body is generally squishy and saggy. I'm not worrying too much about it as it did tighten up after I had my twins so am thinking it is capable of tightening up again.

Still not weighed myself - as I know I have a fair bit to go so no point upsetting myself !

TeamEponine · 16/10/2014 15:15

Oh, what's a belly binder?! Sounds like exactly what I need Grin I'm currently four weeks post ELCS, so I'm just doing long walks at the moment. Trying to do min of 5k everyday.

jaykay34 · 16/10/2014 20:27

A belly binder is basically like a big stretchy bandage that does up with strong velcro that you wear around your stomach. There are loads on the market - some are really expensive but you can get much cheaper ones. The idea is that it binds you back together and aids the slimming process by helping your stomach muscles back together...and although I was skeptical when I read about it - it seems to be working after just a couple of days of wear.

Tbh I was just fed up of looking pregnant and willing to try anything ! I will be exercising after my 6 week check and am currently dieting - but I needed to see some kind of result before the 6 weeks.

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 16/10/2014 22:43

Jaykay are the cheapie ones on eBay worth a try do you know? Can't really afford expensive but have seen a few on there I could stretch to.

Zanashar · 17/10/2014 00:12

Jaykay, dd will be 4 weeks on Saturday. I had stitches from epiostomy, which seem to have healed just fine ( thankfully)

Tried some squats today and now in bed with hit water bottle on my arse as my v lower back feels like someone's kicked it :/ this happens every time I'm having a pretty active day.
Intrigued by the belly binder thing!

KitKat1985 · 17/10/2014 05:21

Well I've lost nothing this week. Not impressed with myself! I thought weight was meant to drop off easily when you are breastfeeding?!?

jaykay34 · 17/10/2014 05:21

Showme I got one for £15 quid - I checked out some reviews on google and found that seemed just as good as a more expensive one.
Have a look for the "Oppo 4 way abdominal binder" as that is meant to be quite good and is reasonably cheap. I got a very similar one (without a brand name) as I didn't want to pay loads for something that didn't work. I think there are even cheaper ones and tbh they are probably just as good as they all seem to function in the same

jaykay34 · 17/10/2014 05:29

Thanks *Zanashar - well done for the squats - I couldn't contemplate them at the moment !

Zanashar · 17/10/2014 06:56

Kitkat, I remember the days after squatting.......ouch!!!
Okay so yesterday I had a 200g bar of cadburys all to myself ......,,. And a triple choc muffin. It was the jelly popping candy one which I love Hmm
Somebody be horrified so I'll never do it again???

ShowMeShowMeTheWine · 17/10/2014 07:53

Thanks jay, I'll have a look on eBay for one.
Zan, my weakness is fondant fancies at the moment I can fit a whole one in my mouth at once but I lurve the popping candy choc. Also like the milka bar with dime bar pieces - I'm no help am I?!

ilovemonstersinc · 17/10/2014 08:11

I tried doing a plank and I can do it for 2seconds Shock omg is it supposed to besoooo hard?? Bloody hell!
That 30day fitness website ia great for ideas and even has a few videos too

ilovemonstersinc · 17/10/2014 08:16

Thought id post this... im probably similar size to the biggee version. If she did it so can we Grin

topmammy · 17/10/2014 21:43

Oh balls. I just ate an entire box of jaffa cakes in one sitting. Dammmmn. Jessica was watching me so I did the thing from the advert - full moon, half moon, crescent moon, total eclipse! She liked it so obviously I had to keep going. Oh well. I'm weighing myself on Sunday, hope I haven't done too much damage!

cookielove · 18/10/2014 03:26

top Grin

KitKat1985 · 18/10/2014 08:13

ilovemonstersinc · 19/10/2014 08:31

Lol top.

I eat moe shit when im at mums as its there in front of me (she almost hoards chocolate lol) and she lives minutes away. I dont buy chocolate anymore. If I dont buy it I cant eat it. If its in im like ooh well I have to eat it now lol.

Has anyone heard from whiteblossom?

Zanashar · 19/10/2014 20:46

Thankfully I hate Daim so you've not tempted me there Showme but fondant fancies are another matter.......I want some so badly right now. Didn't get any munchies with the weekly shop but sent DH out for them last night instead. .......Wink
So a carrot cake and a large bar of Cadburys Oreo choc has now been seen to.
Screw it, weekends are for cheating, long as I "snack" on fruit and the like in the week I should be okay. And start planking the hell out of myself. Ilovemonstersinc don't worry ab t the two sec plank. It's better than one sec and the more you do it the longer you'll manage! It's such a good exercise for core strength ( will help with bad backs too)
Good luck to all for the coming week!

topmammy · 19/10/2014 22:47

Woo hoo I lost 1.25 lbs this week despite the jaffa cake 'incident'. I'm happy enough with that ?

ilovemonstersinc · 20/10/2014 08:23

Buuut how hard are they lol

I tried my wedding outfit on the other day so thats pre 3dc and it actually bloody fit! Ok so it was tighter than before but I got into and out of it lol. Dh eyes lit up Grin

ilovemonstersinc · 20/10/2014 08:28

here
its a skirt and top combo

ilovemonstersinc · 20/10/2014 08:28

Well done top!!

TeamEponine · 20/10/2014 12:44

Well done ilove! I've not even attempted to put on my pre-pregnancy jeans yet. My wedding dress would barely fit around me now Sad having said that, I probably couldn't have done the zip up pre-pregnancy either!!!

Not lost any weight in the past week, but I know I've had too much chocolate, so it is my own fault. I just need to walk loads and stop with the chocolate. The first I can manage, the second is more challenging Confused

cookielove · 20/10/2014 17:41

I've lost 1lb and that ain't bad!

Zanashar · 20/10/2014 20:38

Well done top, ilovemonstersinc and cookie love. I've not planked or done anything physical allday. Spent the day being glad that DD slept and didn't cry all day like she did yesterday ( which wound up with me crying too! Hmm) and did lapsed housework. I then proceeded to go out and buy munchies as I've a friend popping over tmoroow and ended up eating a whole bag of Cadburys Crunchems (that's 500cal+!) in one go. I swear this is my last naughty binge. Must join the gym!!! Confused

Zanashar · 20/10/2014 20:40

Oh and I wouldn't recommend the Crunchems, they're really not that great.
I'm just being a piggle!
