Good luck izzy and bp for different reasons

YellowWellies · 05/10/2014 08:32

Good luck BP

Wah I swear little miss was up every 1.5 hours. DH has taken J down so I can sleep in, the only thing is L has needed two bum changes and a feed so I've yet to sleep! Sad

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 11:08

Good luck pig

We have been for a walk in the forest and by the lake this morning with the dog, a couple of DD1's school friends and their parents. Look at me being sociable!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 11:09

yw it's hard with a newborn and a toddler. You know it gets better though Thanks

isles7 · 05/10/2014 17:48

Good luck BP ! I'm sure you'll ace it!

I can't pack. How is it even possible to fill a medium sized car for literally 5 days?!

YellowWellies · 05/10/2014 18:37

Feel much better DH looked after both DC so I could sleep in til 11.30! Smile

Have had a quiet day - a dog walk in the park, baking dairy free choc chip cookies with J, managed to make gnocchi with L in the sling, and DH and I zonked out on the sofa watching Yellowstone and Frozen Planet with J. Think we might be too tired for a Game of Thrones episode during tonight's clusterfeedathon! Tired but a little bit less scared about DHs return to work on Thursday. Just wish I could lift J. Its funny how second time around (before the CMPI kicks in and other than between 1-4am!) the newborn seems like the easiest bit of the equation. Its fitting everything together that's hard. She's a great feeder, OK to be put down, pretty chilled out really.

Lily311 · 05/10/2014 18:58

Good luck bp.

Weekend is over. Thanks fuck.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 19:06

yw by Thursday you might be able to lift him. Not in a spontaneous lift and fling cuddle. But you can find positions to be able to gently lift him up, maybe with the help of a granny step. Or if he can stand on the sofa from there you might be able to pick him up. Take it very gently. But the difference between 1w and 2w post cs is big. Take paracetamol if you need it.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 19:07

Are you enjoying nursery lily ?

Zamboni · 05/10/2014 19:43

Ooodles of luck BPLP!

YW you will be fab. I also felt that when S arrived, that newborns were simple but you do forget the relentlessness of the care they require and juggling that with a toddler is tough.

Izzy really hope tonight is better.

We have had an epic day of furniture rearranging and building, tidying and sorting. Kitchen rearranged, 2 bedrooms swooped over, a pile of storage built and our conservatory is now a proper playroom. I must remember to share with DD and S! Blush

Hope QM is settling in her new home!

Hope everyone else is a-ok Smile

Lily311 · 05/10/2014 20:00

Everything is great w O pr, it's the loneliness I hate the most at the weekends. Tomorrow at least I will see some adults and will talk to them.

Zamboni · 05/10/2014 20:09

Thanks Lily

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/10/2014 20:19

bplp massive amounts of luck. Hope you get a good night sleep x

yw It must be hard not being able to lift J. That's my main concern if I end up with a cs. There is no way I could last not picking E up. I'm glad your getting some (albeit very small amount) of sleep.

Had a lovely day today. Met up with some friends and went to a park that we've never been too. Had a lovely big lake, woodland, children's playground and café. And the sun shone. Has been pretty much a perfect Sunday.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2014 20:24

I can imagine lily. Flowers

P has been a weird little bag of whinge today. We had a day in the house as we have such a lot if stuff to get done and I think she was bored. But knackered and needing to chill if that makes sense?

She is eventually in bed after needing a complete change of jammies and sleepin bag (thank goodness for the bumper selection gifted by the lovely qm) as I hadn't realised that she was splurting the water down her chin rather than swallow it so was absolutely soaking when I realised. I think she was a bit shame faced about it actually as she sat very quietly and meekly getting her new jammies on.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2014 20:24

How long is bp's exam for ? Big long one wasn't it?

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 20:36

Last night I think she said in 13 hours would be over.

LO had a 2 hour nap and is being an utter pita right now. Despite a morning biking, walking and biking, nap, then an afternoon biking again.

Ffs.

Boast though. She has a box set of usborne apple tree farm books. Yesterday I told her there was a yellow duck on every page. Took her a while to find them on each page of that book.

Tonight we went through others in the set. She'd not looked at them before. And she was finding the duck before me. It was embarassing. She isn't ahead in lots of things. But it's like once she gets something she really gets it. It's amazing.

BigPigLittlePig · 05/10/2014 21:08

Am here, knackered, F sleep dodging. Exam was ok in parts, total car crash in others. Am horrified by some of the things I missed out. Only hoping the bits I did well will carry me through.

Glad you had some sleep, yw, and hope the cs scar is healing well.

Sounds great, eliza.

F has been a challenge tonight, but it is our fault really, as we let her nap from 4 til 5, so I could have predicted it. But she has been a good girl for nana and gramps, who even braved taking her to chapel this morning. All ok apart from singing old macdonald during the sermon. Well you can take the girl out of the south west...

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 21:13

Fingerd crossed pig

PetiteRaleuse · 05/10/2014 21:15

Have heard from QM this evening. All ok. She starts work tomorrow.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2014 21:24

Brilliant news! How exciting! She is certainly hitting the ground running.

Best of luck bp. When do you hear? I imagine a rousing chorus of old macdonald could be very spiritually lifting.

YellowWellies · 05/10/2014 21:57

My twin sister and I once blew out the votive candles singing "Happy birthday dear Jesus" whilst my Mum was getting communion at mass. Under my granny's watchful care! Smile

CS wound is healing well. It was sore yesterday but today I managed without painkillers.

Right I'm off to bed in case the wee miss pulls another crap night.

Passmethecrisps · 05/10/2014 22:05

Fingers crossed for appropriate wakings, fast feedings and speedy resettlings yw!

YellowWellies · 05/10/2014 22:16

Yeah we realised last night she was cold. cough cough shit over casual second time parenting we put a thicker blanket on and she did four hours. Bad Mummy!

YellowWellies · 06/10/2014 08:06

Well L's regularly going 3-4 hours between feeds and can drain a breast in 15 minutes! That's the good news. Sadly her reflux is so bad I have to hold her upright for 40-60 minutes after each feed to stop her choking Sad. Am trying to remember how long J's reflux was this bad? Also hoping that going dairy free (into week 2 already) might help.
