DD1 and E on trampoline so normal systems resumed!

BigPigLittlePig · 22/09/2014 16:06

I am sofa pinned by a snoozing toddler - it is wonderful Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 22/09/2014 16:16

Apparently LO was stood behind a door at nursery and a nursery worker opened it on her foot. Apparently it bled a lot and the nail flipped right back on her big toe. It is still on there but will apparently die and fall off. I have been told to leave the dressing on for now but when I change it tomorrow I must look and see if the nail needs cutting back?! Nursery have said they will check it and clip if I can't face it until it is better. But at some point it will die and drop off.

Gross or what!

I did something like this to my foot a few years ago and it hurt. But my nail came clean off.

Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy

PetiteRaleuse · 22/09/2014 16:28

I assume that is a vom emoticon and you aren't envious at the first aid practice piggy ? Grin

fruitpastilles · 22/09/2014 17:33

Oh pr poor lo, that sounds horrible. Is it bothering her much?

PetiteRaleuse · 22/09/2014 18:38

She's tryimg not to put her toe down. And occasionally points at it and shouts bobo.

But I think she might be in shock. Going to give her a dose of calpol tonight and look at it tomorrow morning. No point in me inspecting it tonight

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/09/2014 19:57

Yeeeeew pr sounds nasty. I'd be a wuss about that too. Hope she's ok.

BigPigLittlePig · 22/09/2014 20:11

Oh MASSIVE vom face, pr!

I was going to ask a question about potties and poo (in an attempt to put everyone completely off their dinner!) but then F shocked me by doing a solid poo in her potty, the first solid poo in months. She does several wees a day in her potty atm. I have her bday week off work so may focus on things then.

Zamboni · 22/09/2014 20:17

Hour 2 of screaming meltdown at bedtime. We've tried mummy, daddy, milk, pushchair and DH has fucked off to hockey so I am watch DS's favourite film. Again. He's not asleep, but he's not screaming. Sigh.

He slept for 3 hours at nursery today. We took him to the park to run but crap bedtime. Going to have a word with nursery about amount of sleeping time but may just have to suck it up in the meantime.

PR how is LO's nursery sleep going?

Kyz · 22/09/2014 20:26

Evening all! Today has been a weird one, dp has been on a course so he's been gone during the day. Not something i'm used to! E has been really good though, I braced myself for it and have tried to deal with the tantrums overly calmly and it seems to have worked ok. Got a cracking headache now though but i'm hoping that sods off soon!

lily tell me about it, i reckon a list is a good idea! Good luck with your studying :)

pr I used to set myself a target and stick to it. I also used to listen to music when writing essays, and i'd just close myself away. I had regular breaks and usually had choklit or wine as a reward Blush

bless dd1, hope she's ok eliza

oh yuck prand ouch! i hope she's ok bless her, gah, i hate digit injuries

gosh zamboni hope he goes to sleep soon!

PetiteRaleuse · 22/09/2014 20:27

Sleep is going good here

LO is sleeping 90 min at nursery and DD1 is sleep dodging at school completely so is knackered and demanding bed by 8. LO still needs a nap but having one means she goes down at 9. Which is late, but is an easy bedtime.

I noticed at pj time that her plaster was dirty full of blood already so I changed it. Ugh. Was gross and black. I'm not looking again until tomorrow night. Poor thing.

Passmethecrisps · 22/09/2014 21:02

Bleaurgh! Poor wee soul.

Glad today was ok kyz

P naps about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on where she is. She struggles in the afternoon but can't really sleep more as then she is a total trauma at bedtime. Bedtime has shifted largely to 8pm now which works fine.

CM told DH that p got a telling off at the library today. Apparently she was bouncing on the chairs and shouting. That is well worthy of a telling off but it still made me a bit sad that she is a child other people feel the need to tell off. She is a bit hyper at the moment and is all about the bouncing and shouting. Hmm

Pikz · 22/09/2014 21:23

Pass I have a bouncy shorty one

L had about an hour sleep at nursery and a 8pm bedtime. He gets up about 6.30am

Feeling v low tonight about ttc but as someone said chin up tits out and solider on Smile

PR that nearly made me vomit!

Kyz glad you've had a good day

Zamboni hope their is bed soon!

BP I love a toddler asleep on me

izzybizzybuzzybees · 22/09/2014 21:38

J has just been sick. Dh brought him downstairs for a bit in case he was ill again. I'm useless as can't do anything to help. Gave him a cuddle and then ran to scrub my hands. I can't deal with a vomiting bug just now with all my stitches. I'm really sore and the perineum stitches make things more awkward. Ugh. Called into work as well. Always fun.

Elizadoesdolittle · 22/09/2014 22:35

pikz Thanks fab saying!

pass Don't be sad. Be glad you have a bouncy shouty one full of character. That's what people tell me when I'm wishing DD1 would calm the fuck down.

E's napping has gone to shit. But it has meant earlier bedtimes. Both girls in bed at 7pm so I can't complain. Once DD1 is in full time school next week I am going to work on naps. I could do with her having an hour or 2 early afternoon so I can crack on with decorating.

Hope J is ok izzy. must be so tough not being able to do anything.

Thinking of yw.

fiatpandababba · 23/09/2014 08:20

My toddler has moments of quiet pottering which is lovely but mostly it's noisy stuff. At the library he likes to hold a book in the door way where the "have you stolen something' machine is - he likes to hear the beeping.

PetiteRaleuse · 23/09/2014 08:24

Sorry pikz I did put a TMI warning. Sorry also that you are having a rough time Thanks

Pass you might remember that My presence has regularly been requested in the nursery director 's office for a bollocking re DD1. It actually stopped completely after her time in forest nursery, when she suddenly learned to obey. Her feisty character is still there, and she still climbs over all kinds of climbable things, but since starting school she hasn't been in trouble once. Shock

And some parents have told me they have received bollockings from the scary teacher already about their DC's behaviour. I have heard nothing. Am rather proud as I was so used to being the one who got called in. Maybe she's saving up something big In fact one parent actually asked me if I had been called in yet. No, I said. She was Shock too and we laughed me a little bit smugly

So anyway, just to say, don't be sad about it. One day she will get that there are places she can bounce and shout and that the library isn't one.

Am finding getting used to school a bit hard actually. I have no idea what they do all day. The teacher will tell you if there is a problem, but otherwise you are expected to assume all is well. And at 3 DD1 isn't great at telling me what has happened during the day, other than she took the bus to the canteen. So it's a tad frustrating but in France teachers say that parents entrust their children to us for the day therefore they need to trust us to deal with things and let us get on with it.

Which is a bit weird after nursery where you get a rundown of the day's events every evening including poos and how much they ate.

I have no idea if DD1 eats a decent meal at lunchtime. Apparently she doesn't sleep but was told that a while ago and no-one would tell me if that changed.

Anyway. Rambling rambling. Have a class now. Love to izzy yes you do not need a vomiting bug right now

StuntNun · 23/09/2014 14:09

J is being a horror today: tantrum after tantrum and major sleep dodging. Confused

OP posts:
Elizadoesdolittle · 23/09/2014 14:44

stunt hugs x

I thought E was going to sleep dodge again for the 3rd day running but after walking her up and down the road I left her awake in the pushchair in the dining room and it's all gone quiet so I assume she is finally asleep.

pr I know what you mean about the lack of not knowing at school. I'm finding it hard to get out of DD1 what she had for lunch and she's a yr older than yours. Yesterday it was sweetcorn and today it was icecream! We don't ever see the teacher and I think yesterday I made a bit of a boo boo as I should have written in her contact book that she was a bit under the weather. I told her to tell the teacher if she felt unwell and I'd come and get her. Instead she asked the teacher for me and the teacher just fobbed her off saying I would come later. When I picked her up she was upset asking why I didn't come and get her. I think the teacher just assumed she was being a mummy wuss and doesn't know her well enough to realise that if she asks me then something is wrong. It's a big learning curve for us all.

Am knackered now. Had a very busy morning and just taking the opportunity to sit down for 20mins before nct peeps arrive for a play date. I saw the midwife this morning and looks like I have a hernia round my belly button area. It explains the weird lump that keeps protruding. Nothing to be done about it but I have to go to gp to get it checked.

Lily311 · 23/09/2014 15:42

I have a child who is unable to exist without me today. She needs me for everything, I can't put my hand on anything without permission. The constant whining is awful. 2 more hours till bedtime here.

Lily311 · 23/09/2014 18:26

Any news yw?

YellowWellies · 23/09/2014 19:10

Nope! Still contracting, cervix opening but waters intact. I'm just getting on with normal life as the MW reckons I could go into active labour tonight or hang on for the next 18 days until I'm induced for GD at 38 weeks. Confused

izzybizzybuzzybees · 23/09/2014 19:21

Wow yw that must be very frustrating for you.

BigPigLittlePig · 23/09/2014 19:50

Which way round is mini-wellies pointing atm, yw?

Just about to have some tea, then back into work. Hoping for a quieter night tonight, lots of poorly folk last night.
