Oh dear Northern!

Hope sickness has abated faffin, what awful timing Hmm

Decorators and plasterers in full swing here. The mess! Ugh. But both are fab, really great work. So excited for it to be finished ... Will be gorgeous!

Faffin · 27/02/2015 10:51

Thanks for asking. We have been incredibly lucky. DD only had a mild dose it seems. No puking since yesterday morning, and nobody else has come down with it either. DD fine again today and she's so excited about going to CP she got herself dressed and packed her trunki by 8.30 this morning. We don't need to leave until after lunch!

I hope the rest of your visit improves northern

Exciting times mopsy, sounds like it'll be fantastic when it's all done

Figster · 27/02/2015 14:12

Ds keeps saying his tummy hurts hope hes not caught a lurgy!!

We getting new stairs and landing carpet in today ds watching room on the broom as he won't come away from the very spikey carpet free stairs .

Payday happy happy

NorthernChinchilla · 27/02/2015 19:39

Oooh, lots of home lovelification going on!

So glad you got away in the end faffin, sounds like you all dodged a bullet.

DP and I Had Words. Or rather I did and he listened and apologised. I know it comes from the way he was fucking pandered to as a child parented but he's an adult and has to take responsibility. He is vastly better than when I first knew him, and on the parenting- ie something that we've done together and there's no influence from his parents- he is as 50/50 as they come, half the mat leave, half the nights, all the nursery drop offs and pick ups, etc.

Anyhow, he's back in the good books and I have pie and mash for dinner, courtesy of M&S Grin

Nice work Northern !

Plasterers still here but finishing today-yay! Can't wait for house to be all painted and fresh. Already looks a million times better. Well worth s few weeks of hassles

Having a lovely morning playing with Minimopsy in her bedroom, reading, dancing, singing, playing with dolls house and train set and drawing on blackboard.

Faffin · 28/02/2015 16:50

I spoke too soon Sad DD made it for about 43 hours with no puking but then vommed spectacularly all over her bed at about 1am. I hadn't managed to sleep prior to that due to DH snoring and DS asking for a drink of water. Then had to try and clean up sick in a place with no cleaning stuff, no washing machine and no spare sheets. DD then went in my bed with DH and I had to squash in with a wide awake DS. I think I ended up getting about 4 hours sleep. Of course DH slept through it all Hmm

I'm now cooped up with DD and some DVD's in our lodge whilst DH and DS go out and do all the fun activities. Have got some new bedding plus a spare set of sheets now at least. Really hope she's not sick any more. Poor thing is very upset about missing out on everything but is being very good about it, bless her.

mopsytop · 28/02/2015 20:44

Oh no faffin HmmHmmHmmHmm Hope she's feeling better by tomorrow.

Mr Mopsy will be home shortly after over a week away. Can't wait!

Figster · 02/03/2015 07:58

Woops forgot to put Ds nappy on last night midnight total bed change required Confused

NorthernChinchilla · 02/03/2015 13:42

How did you forget it figgy ?!

We'll need to have another crack at potty training soon, deep joy....

OP posts:
Figster · 02/03/2015 16:46

We've been in a wee, nappy, teeth, book phase for while but now every night when book finished he wants a wee so we take the nappy off so he can go so we started teeth, book, wee, nappy rotation and just completely forgot the nappy part Shock

Has anyone been subjected to box trolls it's not very good ds loves it unfortunately Hmm

NorthernChinchilla · 03/03/2015 07:36

Hi faffin, are you all back safely from CP? Hope no one else has come down with the bug.

All quiet here, got a month now where we're home every weekend, though having some visitors. Will be sorting out the garden and just pottering Smile

You all loved up and picking out curtain material mopsy? Wink

OP posts:
mopsytop · 03/03/2015 11:39

There were already very nice, expensive curtains in the sitting and dining room Northern so I'm just having them dry cleaned and rehung. A hundred quid compared to I'm guessing at least £1500 or more to replace. Got lovely curtains with stars on for the baby's room though. Carpets next. Hate carpet shopping!

Faffin · 03/03/2015 13:34

Thanks northern, yes we got home yesterday and there was no more sick after fri night so DD felt well enough to get out and do stuff again from Sunday. Nobody else got it, although on dropping DS off at nursery this morning I discovered it's now doing the rounds there so we may not be out of the woods yet!

Figster · 03/03/2015 14:02

New radley handbag has arrived EnvyEnvyEnvy

NorthernChinchilla · 04/03/2015 07:38

Bleurgh.... overdid it a bit yesterday, massive cross county trip via public transport which required walking, buses and lots of trains, then a two hour tour/inspection of a detention facility. Got a sore throat 'nagging' and feel wiped out. Evening meeting tonight so won't be home til 9 at earliest.....

Glad all sounds well with offspring, curtains, carpets and handbags Grin What's the bag like figgy?

My goodness northern take care of yourself. I hope you're feeling better now, and if not then don't go to work tomorrow!

Got a call from nursery today. Assumed it would be to say DS now had the sickness bug too, but for a bit of variety he's got an ear infection instead! Managed to get him to Dr and have been given amoxicillin. DS decided he didn't like the medicine before he's even tried it (as he does with food) and spat loads of it over me. He eventually had it and decided actually it tasted ok. Not sure what on earth they put in that stuff but my hand is now stained yellow from where he spat it all out Shock

NorthernChinchilla · 06/03/2015 07:45

How's DS doing faffin? It's great we're coming into summer and so we'll get fewer of these horrible bugs.
Was shattered yesterday and am sooooo glad it's the weekend. Gardening and feeding the ducks ahoy!

OP posts:
Faffin · 06/03/2015 14:02

DS is fine now thanks. I think nursery overreacted and the Dr was too quick to dish out medicine really. Which is good because DS has been a total nightmare about taking the medicine, so I have given up on that!

Hope you have a relaxing and restful weekend

Figster · 08/03/2015 11:11

We went to dinner at a friends last night their 5yo conked out just before 9 ds was still wide awake when we left theirs at 10.30 he didn't go bed until 11pm! Shock We are suffering for it this morning going to take him to see big hero 6 this afternoon just to try keep him quiet he's knackered

Faffin · 08/03/2015 16:41

Very proud of DS who started cycling his bike properly today. Pedals, no stabilisers Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 09/03/2015 21:32

Oh God fig I wouldn't have managed that, wonder why he was up so late? Only time DS did that was on his birthday when excitement and sugar got the better of him Grin

Little sod, I'd got the washing stuff out and left it on the side as I was doing various loads thus morning, DP didn't keep a close enough eye on DS, come down and find the dispensing drawer full to overflowing and powder all over the floor....!

Feeling pretty knackered but OK, seem to have a far wider range of symptoms this time round but milder. Booking in on Wednesday Smile

Figster · 12/03/2015 18:26

The cm has given ds notice due to his behaviour I'm ready to just keel over

NorthernChinchilla · 12/03/2015 19:43

Oh no figgy, that's such a nightmare. I'm not surprised you feel like you want to keel over Sad

What other childcare options are there locally for you?

OP posts:
mopsytop · 12/03/2015 21:09

Oh god figgy, you poor thing. Maybe it will turn out to be a positive and you'll find a much better childcare solution. You must be feeling pretty stressed. Come on and rant away here anyway if it helps!!

Decorating still ongoing. Can't wait until is done! So far is looking great. Really pleased with our decorator. He is very good and very nice.

Decided to take Minimopsy out of nursery one extra day a week. Think will do her good to have more time with Mopsyboy and myself.

Otherwise no news! Come on you others, get over here and give us your news!
