mopsytop · 22/11/2014 10:03

That's great Oi. Sounds promising.

Hope I don't get Niagara falls! On a related note, I think baby dropped and I now suddenly have really bad pelvic girdle pain for no obvious reason (haven't walked a lot or carried anything heavy) - could it be related to baby dropping?

I feel shite. Sick (vomity) and hugely uncomfortable. Hope baby comes sooner not later.

Going to get Minimopsy a doll's house for Christmas today. A hand made one not a pink plastic one. Exciting!

mopsytop · 22/11/2014 10:04

PS Oi HOW can you love Mr. Tumble? Ugh.

Chipandspuds · 22/11/2014 11:21

Agh! Not Mr Tumble Oi!

I'm not sure if it's Peter Rabbit related but DS decided to carry around a plastic carrot from his kitchen all day yesterday, took it to bed with him and is still clutching onto it!

I'm feeling so tired today, I just want a decent nights sleep and am feeling sorry for myself! DH and DS keep waking me up all night. The baby is also waking me up and I can't get comfortable Sad 6 days until my due date!

At this rate I'm going to be begging my midwife for a sweep! How painful are they...?

OiMissus · 22/11/2014 15:43

Sweeps - not painful, just uncomfortable. I had 3 or 4...Confused

OiMissus · 22/11/2014 15:45

How do I convince the Boi to come to Tesco? I've tried bribery. Promises if treats, magazines, mcd's... He's just being an Oik. I think there'll be tears soon.

OiMissus · 22/11/2014 21:18

(Bizarrely, he just changed his mind. ? And he took his Hudl with him, sat in the trolley, and played his new Thomas App all the way around the store. Easiest shop ever!)

NorthernChinchilla · 23/11/2014 21:15

Got back from conference last night, and today, despite the rain, has been a lovely family day.

Got some groceries late morning, and then went to our nice garden centre and selected, paid for, and arranged the delivery of the Xmas tree Grin! So I'm having it both ways, we've got it in November, and it will be delivered at the end; however it won't actually get put up and decorated until December, keeping everyone happy Wink

We then had lunch, watched Lilo and Stitch, played with Brio and play doh, went on a walk to find the biggest puddle for DS to jump in in the rain- and when we got home it was a two-person job to get his wellies off him and empty them out! I then got DS to help with the cooking for the first time, making our Italian tomato sauce. He's now had his bath and I've made the dough for dinner and had a massive sort out of his toys.

Phew!

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend; glad to hear all went well with you and Mr Oi.

And to seven, hope you're feeling OK at the moment. And to Queen of Clean too, hope you're lurking!

mopsytop · 25/11/2014 17:07

Where is everyone?

Glad you'd a nice weekend Northern!

Busy day today. Second draft of a big application written, laundry done, curry cooked (it is not very good really but never mind, perfectly edible) and some presents wrapped. Haven't stopped all day. Wrecked. Does that count as nesting?

Figster · 25/11/2014 20:04

Lurking!!

I drove 3hr 45 to a l

Figster · 25/11/2014 20:07

Should have read

Lurking

Drove 3hr 45 to a meeting today which lasted 40 minutes then took 3hrs to get bloody back could have cried.

Ds has a croaky throat but seemingly not turning into anything worse.....cm says he thinks he's the king of the castle and would benefit from having a sibling Grin

Chipandspuds · 25/11/2014 20:53

Hello! Lurking here as well! No news here...I have a long walk planned for tomorrow (baby due Friday). Feeling very big and tired!

You should get your cm to say that to DH Figgy!

Aethelfleda · 25/11/2014 20:58

Argh, lilo and stitch, have you WATCHED the storyline? It frightened the bejebus out of my two when we watched it. Starting fifteen minutes= small girl and big sister (orphans) have raging argument about how much they hate each other, nearly get dragged off by social worker who wants to stick them into care, and then I seem to remember Lilo escapes by biting someone? And looooots of shouting and throwing stuff? Not very Disney!!!! (Not that I like most Disney. Princess twee crap. Barf.)

Ahem. Not my personal fave flick, can you tell?

Lots of work at the mo, rewarding but tiring. But hey. At least my kiddy pressie shopping is coming along nicely, and next week we have a mini summerhouse shed coming yes, I know it's not summer. It's a teeny five by seven one, but t'will lurk in our small garden without (hopefully) being overpowering. Only slight hitch is we will have to dig and move one of the raised beds over to fit it in....

NorthernChinchilla · 25/11/2014 21:29

Ooooh, jealous of the summer house aethel, have always lusted after one. Something that would allow me to combine garden, reading and privacy, sigh....
And yes, I cringed at the 'family means no-one gets left behind' guff, but DS enjoyed the manic elements clearly recognises a kindred spirit

Child has decided our bed is comfiest tonight so we may be relegated to the spare.

And I sort of feel your pain figgy, we had another sodding conference today, so up at half 5 and three hours travelling each way. Am knackered. Plus work is just crazy at the moment, so I'll be pulling another late one tomorrow.

Now, which thread baby is going to arrive first Grin

OP posts:
Figster · 26/11/2014 20:15

Ds isn't well he seems to have a sore mouth he's crying all over the place and dribbling he seems to have ulcers or lesions on the roof of his mouth Hmm

He punched his cm in the face twice today we were called round to discuss his recent behaviour. Bad day all round in the Fig house then Hmm

mopsytop · 26/11/2014 20:57

Oh dear figgy Sad Sad Sad on both counts.

I'd love a summer house! Garden too small, alas!

Aethelfleda · 26/11/2014 21:32

Oh dear figgy, calpol/brufen and ice pops called for! Check his hands, feet and bum for little red spots or little blisters, there is loads of hand, foot and mouth virus around our way at the moment...

Yay for imminent thread babies!

And don't be jealous mopsy, you too can have one of these things, they are only five foot deep and seven foot wide: when I said small I REALLY meant it! It's more glorified storage than somewhere to sit, we need something to store garden tools/toys/chairs, and I just liked the look of it better than a dark little shed....

OiMissus · 26/11/2014 23:10

Another lurker here.
Poor Figgyboy! His bad behaviour must be linked to being under the weather. (I know they're all bad at moment, ill or not!) so I think your cm must be coming down with something too if she's having a winge.
Sounds like there be babies imminent, and some long working hours. - your weekend sounds nice though, Northern. Smile
MrOi and I had a wee date night last night. He cooked 'round at his place. (He bought a slow cooker and is teaching himself to cook again! Grin If we get back together, this will be a great thing. He had totally given up cooking, I did everything, and this became a source of discontent - not that we ever actually spoke about it. Sigh!! It's so clear now why we were so unhappy!)
Anyway, the chilli was good. The evening was pleasant. I was hoping to stay over, but he wouldn't let me. Shock He wants to take things slow. Fair enough.
I suppose.
We have date night no. 2 on Sunday. Smile This time Boi is staying at the gp's and we're going for a meal.
We have bought the boi's birthday present. It's a massive rocket. It's like a dolls' house, but a spaceship. Grin It even has aliens. I've only seen it online, but it has rave reviews. He's so into role play, I'm sure he'll love it. I hope it will give him something other than his trains to play with. It was £10 cheaper from Tesco Online than on Amazon, but I was gutted when Tesco wouldn't let me use my saved up Clubcard vouchers or "boost" them. Hmm never mind. A Tenner saving is a Tenner saving!
(The rocket was first seen in the "Bright ideas" catalogue, do it must be good and educational , right?!Grin)

OiMissus · 26/11/2014 23:12

this is it. Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 27/11/2014 07:04

Currently sitting here watching BT's 'channel off air' on repeat, at DS's request, because 'want the musics mama, the circles are dancing!'
Grin
That sounds really tough figgy I hope some painkillers will help. Surely the cm must be used to this sort of behaviour from toddlers tho?

Off for my long weekend in York, been doing it for near 20 years with family. Can't wait Smile

mopsytop · 27/11/2014 07:50

We already have brick shed at bottom of garden (think prob original 1860s actually) which is great for storage (or will be once we have removed all the crap the previous owners left) but we really only have a small patch of lawn plus garden path so even a small summer house not feasible. But you can't have everything!

That sounds like good progress Oi. Slow and steady is a good thing! Rocket looks fab!

Was sure I was going into labour last night..Alas no Sad Sad Sad

Figster · 27/11/2014 09:56

Aethel he had a full body check last night and this morning no sign of anything I wonder if burned his mouth on his dinner last night. He has gone today to the CM was really clingy at drop off and have told her he hasnt had any meds this morning so if he needs he can have some but not holding out much hope for the rest of the day work wise.

DH is really frustrating me apparently DS behaviour is all my fault because I spoil him and pander to him and he has no fear of consequences. DH has no patience with the irrationality of a toddler. We are supposed to be trying for another dc January onwards cant see DH sticking with the plan with DS behaviour as it is at the moment.

Oi that rocket looks awesome I am totally struggling with DS gift ideas this year both SILs and PIL were on phone last night for ideas came up with a robo fish, Dr kit/dress up few Julia Donaldson books. He has everything he could need and even then only plays with his octonaut stuff.

Oi sounds good with H, you sound hopeful there is a resolution are you spending xmas day together too?

We were planning on doing a xmas market at the weekend either Bath or Worcester but might now depend on DS and whether we still worried he is ill.

Mopsy and chip the race is now on to see who drops first Chip remind me do you know whether baby is a boy or girl?

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 27/11/2014 11:26

Come on baby chips and mopsy! Excited for new thread babies!

Figgy it's so hard, this is the hardest age yet. They are so irrational and yet so grown up, your DH sound like mine at times. He forgets that DS might be able to speak like a 5 year old, but he doesn't have the emotional control or skills to deal with his feelings. It's just so frustrating and draining.

Oi, glad things are going well. Slow seems like a good plan; you're both making sure all the problems are dealt with and you don't fall back into bad habits.

Aethal also jel of your summer house.

I'm still here, plugging away. DS has been very sweet lately, and we've found some triggers of his annoying less pleasant behavior. Give him anything he can pretend is a gun or a sword and he just gets totally carried away and starts acting out. We're getting better at spotting it early and trying to divert and encourage better behavior. We went to softplay with a friend on Monday and he was so good, played nicely, listened to me and didn't strop about anything.

I've been off sick with a stomach bug, combined with my period being two days late had me hyperventilating yesterday! Thankfully it turned up this morning. I was sick in public though, which is a humiliation I haven't felt in nearly a decade. Blurgh. At least I might have lost a few lbs before Christmas.

PartTimeProcrastinator · 27/11/2014 18:47

Hope you're feeling better soon Hop, and Oi that rocket looks amazing.

DS has done nothing but eat and sleep all day, he has eaten maybe 3 times what he normally does today and is still sitting next to me eating. Growth spurt maybe? If so its about time!

Finished Christmas/birthday shopping for DS today, I'm banning myself from buying anymore as I think I may have overdone it!

Aethelfleda · 27/11/2014 19:42

DS is getting a Bumblebee Trunki!
assuming the wretched thing arrives and gets smuggled in without notice
We have so many "toy" things it's just not sensible to get him loads of stuff... Nonetheless there shall be fluffy Minion and at least two new little dumper trucks. Hurrah.

mopsytop · 27/11/2014 19:49

Minimopsy is getting a doctor's set and duplo (cheaper mothercare one) for birthday - the former had 20% off, the latter 50% off, woohoo! - and a doll's house for Christmas, a really fab one, wooden (and not pink!). Not sure she will fully appreciate it yet but I'm sure she will later on if not now. Stocking presents are basically necessities... bobbles, clips, knickers etc.
