Great. Friday it is! I'll be home after 1:30.
When he's annoyed with us, he's taken to growling. I kid ye not. He does it loads. My feral child...

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/11/2014 16:10

Lets just shut them in a room together and eat cake.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 12/11/2014 16:10

Although I can't eat cake because I'm meant to be losing weight and training for a half marathon.

Chipandspuds · 12/11/2014 17:09

Sometimes I think toddlers are best left to get on with it!

I've had the most boring day ever today, on maternity leave and DS is at nursery so I can rest today, it was fine until lunchtime and then I just didn't know what to do with myself! Not used to having time to myself Confused

mopsytop · 12/11/2014 18:41

I think I'll be experiencing that soon Chip. So used to being very busy. But I have all of Downton Abbey to watch for starters ...

Chipandspuds · 13/11/2014 10:37

I've just been slobbing about, reading book and spending too long on MN! Going to force myself out of the house to the shops in a little while! It's nice having the chance to have a lie down, but I'm looking forward to DS being off nursery tomorrow so I have company Smile

mopsytop · 13/11/2014 12:27

Baby has gone very quiet. Luckily he has done a few kicks and squirms so I have been reassured but he is quieter than he was ... normal at this stage? might ring my midwife is still very quiet all day ..m

mopsytop · 13/11/2014 15:58

Just had right good wriggle. PHEW!

Chipandspuds · 13/11/2014 21:01

Glad baby had a wriggle! I usually find if I lie down or have a bath the baby suddenly wakes up!

So glad it's Friday tomorrow, off to playgroup with DS in the morning and play date with a friend in the afternoon :)

NorthernChinchilla · 13/11/2014 21:10

Still can't believe that you two are going to have babies soon! Try and aim for the same day so we get thread twins Smile

Have you finished at work now mopsy, or is it tomorrow? Get ready for nesting and no commute! For some reason, still can't get my head round MiniM having tantrums, the name and description just seem so cute...

Just had my course and knackered, but DP and I have tomorrow booked off, just to spend some time together, bit of housework, lunch out, etc. I'm away in some capacity for the next four weekends on the trot, two with DP, two not, so we needed a bit of time... Wish it were not so busy in the run up to Xmas though.

mopsytop · 13/11/2014 21:30

Officially finish Monday Northern but no more commute after today yay!

Minimopsy IS normally really cute and sweet and fab. The tantrums are like some little demon has taken her over! It is very reassuring that all the thread toddlers are the same. It would appear to be a developmental stage. Being firm and calm with her is slowly having an effect at least!

I'm so tired. Today was insane. Loads of students made appointments with me ... they suddenly realised I was leaving. Plus four hours teaching standing up. And some rather pressing pastoral issues, always a bit stressful and difficult as you want to be sure you're giving the student the best support you can and getting them the right support but it is very difficult sometimes as we are not trained counsellors. Then long commute. So I'm jolly glad to be home. Just about to crawl into bed.

Figster · 15/11/2014 13:15

Taking ds to see Santa arrive at our local shopping centre today he usually has a full parade with reindeers and this year postman pat and Jess the cat he's gonna love it we going to walk round so we can have a stop at pub for a pint on way home so I'll love that Grin

I have taken the week off to decorate - after finally getting my new bifold ing doors fitted - and what do you know, I get a stinking cold.
Good news - the butterfly stitches have gone and there's not much of a scar. It may disappear completely soon. Grin

LordJabuJabu · 16/11/2014 08:44

Oi, how typical! Hope cold goes soon.

Fig, how did yesterday go? Sounds lovely. We've booked for dh to take ds1 to see Father Christmas next month....& it looks like it might be on our (potential) moving date. Pfb much to cancel house move for Santa?

Good luck for getting work finished Mopsy!

Namechanger (the other due next month pregnant lady)!

Figster · 16/11/2014 14:53

Yesterday was fine until ds started playing up waiting for postman pat to come back out dh slapped him on the hand I lost it with dh as it was completely unnecessary he ruined my day he said I practically called him a child abuser and we didn't speak again all day pretty much Angry arsehole

Today been to church, aquarium and lunch dh off birding somewhere all day ......and is still an arsehole.

We taking ds to see Santa proper on Xmas eve as the best one I know of is up in Scotland and we not flying home until late on 23rd. He really gets Xmas this year it's going to be lovely and my bottle of chocolate baileys will see to that Grin

Good newton the chin Oi!!

Chipandspuds · 16/11/2014 16:35

Mmm...Baileys! I will definitely be having Baileys this Christmas!

Sounds like you've had a busy weekend Figgy!

That's so typical Oi, hope your cold gets better soon.

DH has come down with a cold so we have had a seriously lazy day today watching lots of tv and playing Lego with DS. Thank goodness for the slow cooker as I don't think I could face cooking this afternoon/evening.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 16/11/2014 21:52

An hour in front of the laptop and I have done Christmas shopping for all my nephews and my niece, including the two that have birthdays in December, Christmas shopping for all DS's little friends/children of my friends and birthday and Christmas presents for bOi and littlebennybenbear. BOOM! Productive! All online and home delivery. This is the way to do it!

Aethelfleda · 16/11/2014 23:19

Oh yes, we LOVE internet shopping chez Aethel too. When one works 8-2pm and then has children present who would NOTICE at all other times, internet (with squirreling away of packages) is the best option. When the DDs notice a packet arriving it's "for daddy's work".
I'm fine until DD1 works out how to check my internet cache...

OiMissus · 17/11/2014 00:09

Another internet shopper here. I get it delivered to work. Wink
I have Gator in my drawer. It's the only way to stop me giving it to Boi before the day!
My office will be full when it starts all getting delivered. Grin
I have done some wallpaper scrapage. I hate it. Bit only because I wasn't expecting to do any, and the last people seemed to have used a super glue and paint mix. And I've packed up the room and masked areas. Ready to get the gloss out tomorrow!
Cold is shit. Earth trembling sneezes, razor throat, rain forest snot. You get me?! Confused And crackling ears. Every time I cough my ears crackle.
...I am entering the arena of the unwell.
Send drugs.
Big ones.
Grin
Talking about bConfusedg ones, there's a mahoosive killer spider in my bedroom. I went to get a glass and when I returned he was gone. Let's hope this is not one of the ones my body wants to try and swallow! ( as in: "the average human swallows 7spiders a year in their sleep" )

OiMissus · 17/11/2014 07:09

(Last night's post was a bit unintelligible. ?? Summary: Internet shopping - ok. Starting decorating. Cold getting worse.Spider!)
I survived the night. Neither the cold, nor the big spider got me.

Chipandspuds · 17/11/2014 10:09

I love internet shopping, it helps me browse lots more - I'd never get around that many shops with DS in tow!

I am having a nightmare with Parcelforce delivering a fold up cube bed though...currently awaiting a call back to see if it's even on the van for delivery today!

I just need to get my brothers Christmas present - I have literally no idea what to get him! I have repeatedly asked but have been told he needs socks and pants...I have told him under no circumstances will I be buying my brother pants! I will think of something, he's into sailing, model trains, Top Gear, always needs clothes or things for his house and he loves cheese, port and chocolate! Time to browse online :)

I have about £15 left to spend on Mum, I think I might pop into Waterstones and get her some books, they usually have a 3 for 2 offer.

I think I almost finished myself off in Wembley Ikea over the weekend - awful! We bought some plastic storage boxes for DS's room in preparation for birthday and Christmas madness! DH and I agreed that once the baby is born we will re-decorate DS's room either unisex if the baby is a girl or go all out blue if the baby is a boy, and we will have another trip to Ikea then.

mopsytop · 17/11/2014 11:37

I must get onto the internet shopping. Dentist this morning to replace a filling (ugh) and just been sitting on sofa since I got back!

mopsytop · 17/11/2014 18:10

Oops. Felt sick so just lay on bed all afternoon. No internet shopping at all Blush I did get myself up to prepare supper and pick up Minimopsy. Now collapsed on sofa again. Minim watching Toy Story 3.

Figster · 17/11/2014 18:53

Xmas bedding for ds acquired oh I'm getting Xmas fever Grinphoto of it on the FB page.

I need to get mum, dad and dh now that ds and my niece done don't need to do bro and sil anymore we just buy the kids that's better than us all exchanging gift vouchers as we have nothing we need. How is it still over 5 weeks away!!
