Klingon here too. And she finally looks to have a tooth coming through, so hopefully this is the reason for the worst night ever last night!

Have any of you thought about the next size of car seat? We were researching it last night and it's so complicated! We want rearfacing for as long as possible, but with the option to forwardface after about age 2 if she suddenly decides she hates RFing (until 2ish I don't think it'll be negotiable).
So we've narrowed it down to 2, the Cybex Sirona and Britax Dualfix, but I'm worried I've missed something glaringly obvious about either one (either pro or con). Or that there's another option we haven't seen.

FelixFelix · 06/10/2014 15:43

Toby S still hasn't got any teeth yet and she's 9 and a half months!

She's been teething on and off since 4 months old but nothing has come through. I think she's started again as we had a mega meltdown last night (which is actually quite rare for her) and she screamed for 2 hours straight at bedtime! She woke up at 4.45 and wouldn't go back to sleep so I brought her in bed with me and she still wouldn't sleep, so we went downstairs and she sat in her rocking chair and fell asleep watching the telly and I kipped on the sofa. She watches far too much tv Blush it's the only way I can get anything done!

Been to music class this afternoon which she loved! We are going to view a really nice house tonight in a good area. It's moving about 12 miles further from leeds than we are now but the area is great and there's loads to do for babies/kids. Plus it's right on the moors so lots of walks. I really hope we like it as where we live now is really rough (and I'm from a rough area anyway so it must be bad round here for me to say it's dodgy!). I'll be looking forward to not living next to a drug dealer any more Confused

FelixFelix · 06/10/2014 15:45

Toby we need to start looking at car seats but I haven't had a chance yet. I was thinking about ERF but we have the smallest amount of space ever in the back of our car so I don't think it's an option unfortunately. I'll miss being able to stick the group 0 seat on the frame of the pram! It's so convenient, especially when she's asleep.

TobyLerone · 06/10/2014 17:07

Apparently you can do ERF even in a Ford KA, but I don't know what seat you'd need.

TarkaTheOtter · 06/10/2014 17:25

I have a britax first class plus ready for A (it was our spare when for dd when we had two cars). I'm hoping he'll fit in the rfing mode til 18m at least like dd did.

Biggest consideration after that will hopefully be how to fit three seats in the back if I ever get my period back (and for the children to sleep long enough for us to actually have sex).

Angelesque · 06/10/2014 19:22

Hi all! Been away for a while as work has been horrendously busy (contracted to do 30 hrs a week; did nearly 60 last week)... Job interview today though, woo!

Re: car seats - aren't the rules just about to change so they have to be rear facing for longer?

Tarka no period here either...

Naturegirl82 · 06/10/2014 20:08

We definitely have another tooth coming through here. Bless her she was so upset at bedtime, full on screaming in pain which she never does. Put some teething gel on and gave calpol and she went out like a light!

Took her to the docs today about her rash. He thought just nappy rash but has given us some cream to try. He did say I should use different more breathable nappies as they seemed very thick! Hmm I had to try and explain they were cloth and were more breathable than disposables! I don't think he understood! Confused

angel that sounds absolutely rubbish. That is why I didn't go back part time! Good luck with the interview.

Gettingthroughthis · 07/10/2014 07:01

toby we've got the Britax first class plus too and plan to keep him rear facing as long as possible. H doesn't seem as happy as he was in the maxi cosi pebble but he's generally harder work now

Joining the awful night here too. Think it's teething. Just wouldn't settle

Good luck on the interview angel and house felix. We won't be moving this week as planned. Stupid estate agents

BookTart · 07/10/2014 09:13

I need a swivelly ERF seat because I have a stupid car. I am going for the Britax because I'm not convinced by the cushion instead of a harness when the Cybex is ff. That said, one of our nct lot has the Cybex already and got it because they thought the cushion was a better idea, so who knows!

DV and his gf are here. P's routine is non-negotiable atm due to the sleep training, so they've spent most of the time on their own while I sit upstairs with a sleeping baby. I feel terrible. I've not even cooked for them Blush They clearly don't understand either Sad

AMillionNameChangesLater · 07/10/2014 11:32

I've booked Henry's first birthday party today. It's at the local (amazing) soft play. £9.99 a child and they do everything but the cake. So party bags too. Realistically it's more for ds1 than Henry, but we're ok with that

FelixFelix · 07/10/2014 13:46

Million you're organised Shock I have no idea what to do for Sylvie's birthday as it's so close to Christmas.

We got the house! I'm so happy Grin there were four applications this morning and they were waiting on one more but the landlord was happy with ours and couldn't be bothered waiting around for the last application. It's a lovely little town right on the Yorkshire moors and there's loads of stuff for us to do so it will be loads better than here. We will hopefully get the keys on 15th Nov so be in for Christmas (and actually have space for a Christmas tree this year!!) Smile

Gettingthroughthis · 07/10/2014 17:01

Woop how exciting felix

million that is very organised, sounds lovely though

AMillionNameChangesLater · 07/10/2014 17:58

Brilliant news Felix!

Gettingthroughthis · 07/10/2014 19:14

I LOVE having Wednesdays as holiday! Tuesday is the new Friday!! Don't ever want to have to work 5 days a week again although know I'll have to in new year

TobyLerone · 07/10/2014 21:22

Excellent news, felix!

littleraysofsunshine · 07/10/2014 21:28

I didn't realise we were still on here! Doh!

P still has two bottom teeth but more coming I think! Chewing like a Gooden'!

alteredimages · 07/10/2014 22:29

Happy bday toby, hope you have had a good day. We too had tge britax first class and it is great. DD was still using it when she was three.

Great news about the house felix sounds lovely.

Very impressed by your organizational skills million. I really want to book fairy trina for N's bday (again more for DD) who tells stories and makes crafts with the kids but not all our relatives speak english and I don't think I can get away with not inviting people on linguistic grounds
Hmmm.

TobyLerone · 08/10/2014 09:15

Thanks, altered :)

Swannykazoo · 08/10/2014 15:38

Tarka - glad its not just me on the period and the other thing. I'd love a second but at this rate will have to have shepherds watching by night /star in the east before I'm pregnant again etc.

Congrats on the house Felix How close is your little one's birthday to Christmas? We're thinking about having a solstice party for little puggle in the summer as he's 22nd Dec

Baby puggle was at the paediatrician today about the nut allergy (which my stupid GP didn't want to refer him for). They were lovely and agreed he needed RAST testing but had two goes to get blood out - poor little puggle baby. We've also got an epipen now which I'm a bit scared about though - keep telling myself its better to have it and not need it than the opposite. On a selfish note I LOVE LOVE LOVE almonds and macademias ec and now can't have them in the house or while I'm still breastfeeding

FelixFelix · 08/10/2014 16:13

Puggle she is 22nd too Grin I agree with having the epi pen just in case. At least then you've got it if the worst happens and not the other way round.

TarkaTheOtter · 08/10/2014 17:05

A's birthday is New Years Day and I'm not sure what we'll do to celebrate, probably nothing as he's a nsb (neglected second born).

Naturegirl82 · 08/10/2014 19:36

Happy birthday toby

Very organised million we've started talking about what do for O's but haven't decided yet. We still have 3.5 months till hers though so a bit of time to decide.

Congrats on the house felix

Well done for the new job angel

Naturegirl82 · 08/10/2014 19:37

Hmm think I may have dreamt that! Hope the interview went well angel!

MrsGSR · 09/10/2014 23:28

DH gets back tomorrow night, and L hasn't slept in her bed since he left. I feel guilty and a bit crap about it. At my dad's she stayed in my bed, and at home she's been sleeping in her pram and I've slept on the sofa. For some reason my anxiety is better downstairs and it's meant I've had enough sleep to function. But now I'm panicking about her going back into her own bed.

I've had a quick catch up but forgotten pretty much everything. I hope jobs and interviews are all going well, and other babies are sleeping better than Leah. And no one else had sprayed air freshener in their eye, as I did about an hour ago. Ouch.

Gettingthroughthis · 10/10/2014 08:11

mrsg as long as you're getting some sleep I wouldn't worry how. We slept with h in our bed night before last as couldn't get him to settle and meant at least we got some sleep. Don't read this part he had the best night ever last night and slept 7-6.30!!
