altered as someone said before, you are a saint! The ref results are due back on Friday morning/early afternoon.

getting sounds like H had a brilliant time. The nursery sounds very good. I'm sure that will be a weight off your mind when you go back. Good luck with the interview and presentation.

Toby hope all went well at the docs, and hope M gets better soon.

TobyLerone · 16/09/2014 12:12

The Dr was very nice and probably wrote a big PFB note on my file when I'd gone and said she seems fine, normal temp/stomach noises, not dehydrated etc. The usual advice: plain carbs if she wants them, no dairy/fruit/veg/meat, BF whenever she wants and give water and go back in a few days if she's no better.

Last night was one of her best nights ever, too! Woke and fed at 11pm, again at 1.45 and then woke up because she was being sick at 5.30 :(
So now I'm stuck under a tired, clingy baby.

Well done for being brave at the dentist, humpty!

FelixFelix · 16/09/2014 12:51

Humpty I had a filling yesterday too! First time at the dentists in 2 years Shock he wasn't impressed. It's just one of those things I totally forgot about...

Altered I don't know how you do it!!

Toby glad everything is ok.

S had a weird spot under her bottom lip. I thought she had caught herself with her never ending razor nails but it's strange. It's like a little blob with a yellow head on it. It's not a cold sore is it? I've never had one.

MrsGSR · 16/09/2014 15:02

Felix I don't know about the spot but I can sympathise with never ending razor nails!

I think Leah's doctors notes probably mention 'neurotic mum' or similar...

Managed to get her down for her first nap without rocking or feeding, a little singing and over an hour or sitting next to her patting her side and speaking softly. Second nap I rocked her a tiny bit but no where near as much as usual. Have a feeling it won't be as easy tonight, but she did spend some time playing happily in her cot. Fingers crossed!

BookTart · 16/09/2014 15:22

Well done mrsg! I wish I had your patience. I start panicking if she's not asleep within 20 minutes and then feed her Blush

Glad M seems okay toby, hope it turns out to be nothing.

We've just had our first meeting with the sleep lady. She's very nice, and has written an enormous plan of what to do. The first stage is several weeks long and looks totally doable, so I'm feeling cautiously optimistic.

Persephone stood up at baby group this morning, all by herself! She only managed to wobble for 10 seconds or so, but has spent the rest of the day doing it over and over again. My nerves as frayed, to say the least! The crawling and cruising stage is knackering enough, I'm in no hurry for the walking stage to start! (also, does anyone else think cruising sounds a bit rude? Can't we call it something else? I'm a massive child, and it always makes me do a bit of a snigger!)

TobyLerone · 16/09/2014 16:15

Dammit! I missed Percy standing up :(
Glad the sleep lady thing went well. Fingers crossed!
And cruising is definitely rude :o

Well, M threw up copiously again a couple of hours ago, so.much that we both had to bath/completely change clothes. So definitely not right. It's weird, though. She was back to laughing and chatting again even as she was still spitting out the last bits Hmm
She's completely normal, just extra clingy. Poor baby :(

Naturegirl82 · 16/09/2014 18:08

Ah toby that sounds rubbish. Hope her tummy settles down soon.

Felix it could be a cold sore. Can you pop to a pharmacy they should be able to tell you. I get them and they are a right bugger. Yay for the crawling.

Well done humpty and Felix on the dentist.

book I was going to ask if you'd seen the sleep consultant yet. Glad it sounds positive. Yay for the standing. It's so weird isn't it. They look too little to be doing it.

I'm knackered today (no suprise there) but ok. Have to bake some cakes to take into work tomorrow so probably won't get an early night. I think O is teething again as well.

Naturegirl82 · 16/09/2014 18:09

mrsg sounds like you did well with her nap. Hope tonight goes ok.

Naturegirl82 · 16/09/2014 18:10

getting good luck tomorrow. Hope it goes well.

altered I don't know how you do that everyday. It would drive me nuts. Are there no schools closer?

MrsGSR · 16/09/2014 18:31

Whenever I read 'crusing' I hear Kenicki say "he's cruisin' for a bruisin'" from Grease...

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 16/09/2014 19:17

book wow, go Percy!

toby sounds grim, poor Meredith.

MrsG me too. Sounds sordid somehow...

beccajoh · 17/09/2014 07:15

Cruising does sound a bit rude. I used to take DD to tumble-tots and they called it 'finger walking', which confused the hell out of me.

Toby it sounds like a little spot? I've only ever got cold sores actually on my lips and it wasn't a spot as such, more a sore patch of skin.

We had an excellent night! Popped Archie's dummy in once at 2am, but he slept 6.30-6.30. I'm amazed. He did have an ENORMOUS tea, (pasta twists with pesto - absolutely loved it) and ate more than his sister, although that's not hard. Of course I didn't sleep (WTF is that all about). I was woken up by someone's dog barking at about 3.30, then was only half asleep from about 4am, waiting for him to wake up!

Naturegirl82 · 17/09/2014 11:28

O decided that 5 am was an appropriate time to get up this morning. Thankfully Dh got up with her so I got a bit more sleep and got breakfast in bed.

I'm not weird that I still feed O during the night am I? She is reverse cycling so it doesn't bother me, but my colleague was suprised I still feed her in the night. Hmm

TobyLerone · 17/09/2014 11:55

I feed M all sodding night a fair bit in the night.

Naturegirl82 · 17/09/2014 12:03

That's what I thought. I only feed her at around 10-11, 1-2 and then 4.30 onwards so really 1 night feed (others I think of as bed and morning feeds to make myself feel better Smile ) . It takes 10 mins max to feed and get her back in her cot so really not bad at all.

If you could have anything you wanted for dinner what would you have? I have complete free reign to choose tonight and can't think of anything.

BookTart · 17/09/2014 12:54

nature I would have battered halloumi, mushy peas, and fat chips.

How is M today toby?

In keeping with the spirit of needing sleep training, P barely slept last night. This morning I walked her in the pushchair for two hours, which produced a mighty 20 minute nap Angry. She's now half an hour into her second nap. It is meant to be the last of the day, but as she basically sacked off the first one she'll ned another later. God knows how I'm meant to go anywhere while this is happening, it is incredibly time consuming!

TobyLerone · 17/09/2014 13:25

Battered halloumi, mushy peas and chips is exactly what I didn't know I wanted for dinner but do now!

We're having steak pie, chips and peas.

M seems a bit better today, thanks. She hasn't been sick since yesterday. She had a tiny bit of dry toast at breakfast and she seemed starving at lunchtime. I rationed her to about 1/4 of a banana and a small bit of plain bread. She's now BFing and dozing.

M is the same, nature. She feeds and is back in the cot within 10 minutes. We had to put the base of the cot down yesterday because I sat her in there while I got some laundry together and she immediately pulled herself up to standing!

beccajoh · 17/09/2014 13:32

We were feeding DD in the night until she was 21 months (she was 18 months when Archie was born), although I'd stopped breastfeeding by then so she was having bottles, but it was the quickest way to get her back to sleep. I was feeding two children at night for a few weeks Confused

OP posts:
beccajoh · 17/09/2014 13:33

So IMO no it's not weird!

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 17/09/2014 13:56

They like to suprise you don't they toby. O ends up standing up a lot in the night (I'm not sure she is even aware she does it) but Dh saw for the first time last night and found it so strange. Our cot was built on the lowest setting from the start because O is a little wierdo and was standing so early!

Battered houlomi sounds lovely. I can't decide if I want Dh to cook me something (although he is out playing squash most of the evening) or get a takeaway. I'm crap at making these sort of decisions!

book is that part of your sleep plan then trying to get her to nap?

TarkaTheOtter · 17/09/2014 14:00

I don't think night feeds at this age are odd at all. On a good night Alex has one feed at 10/11pm ish. But often it's more. His sleep is drastically better now he's mastered crawling. He had a lovely two hour nap this morning which was amazing.
We are also lowering the cot this weekend. It's going to be much harder to sneak him in asleep so not very happy about it.

BookTart · 17/09/2014 14:35

Yay for standing M toby. Glad she's feeling better.

Yeah nature, it covers both naps and nighttime sleep (not all at once). We've got our work cut out!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 17/09/2014 14:43

Ds1 is self potty training. As in "I need to use the toilet" which is working well so far, 6 wees on the toilet and no accidents. He hasn't pooed yet though.

Henry appears to not be good with milk. I don't think he's allergic, he seems intolerant mainly. I avoided giving him milk for two days and he wasn't sick at all. This morning I gave him a bottle and he threw up all morning. So no more milk. I'm going to try him with soy milk and see how that goes. As it stands, it's an hour until bedtime (we're three hours ahead) and I cant wait for sleep

AMillionNameChangesLater · 17/09/2014 14:43

Well done to M!

BookTart · 17/09/2014 15:50

I was told that babies should avoid soya milk million, especially boys. Something to do with the oestrogen content? Percy has oat milk or coconut for drinking. I use rice milk for cooking sometimes, but the arsenic content means they shouldn't have a lot of it. It is a massive PITA because everywhere has soy milk as an alternative, but she can't have it.
