mrsg Henry is like that if he's not tired enough when he goes to bed, could you keep her up until she's more tired? We use a dummy so I keep putting it in when he's like that. And water in a bottle. And putting his mobile on.

FelixFelix · 12/09/2014 22:42

Drive went well! Motorways are piss easy Grin

S has woken up 4 times already tonight. She's been progressively getting worse again over the past week and I'm afraid she may be regressing back to hourly wake ups Confused

DP accepted an offer for a new job today so we will be slightly better off each month. I'm so pleased!

Naturegirl82 · 12/09/2014 23:05

Congrats mrfelix and well done felix for tackling the motorway.

O has woken up and I'm sat here listening to Dh try to get her back to sleep. He is doing ok but it's so hard not to go and intervene when I know I could get her back to sleep so quickly.

MrsGSR · 12/09/2014 23:31

Congrats to your DP Felix!

We've tried earlier and later bedtimes and they don't seem to make a difference. If anything I think she's probably overtired. Probably a silly question but it's pick up put down just picking them up until they calm down then putting back down?

Naturegirl82 · 12/09/2014 23:43

Yep that's the gist of it. There was a lot if info on Google about it. But effectively that is what you do and eventually they fall asleep!

Gettingthroughthis · 13/09/2014 07:32

Well done felix :)

mrsg Henry goes to bed at 6 (until he starts nursery next week when I won't pick him up to 6) and it's so annoying the amount of people who say he's not sleeping because he goes to bed too early. Like you we've tried later times and the night is the same so do what works. But on the occasion he won't just go to sleep on his own (luckily not too often but might not apply to you) I bring him downstairs for a bit then try again when he's looking tired. It's less struggle that way and I'm lazy

Naturegirl82 · 13/09/2014 10:05

Well we all made it through the night. I got less sleep than normal but Dh managed with O the whole night through. Even managed to get her to drink from a bottle. Yay Smile

TobyLerone · 13/09/2014 10:51

That's great, nature :)

Well done, Felix! My sister passed her test about 6 years ago and has had a cat most of that time and has still never driven on a motorway. And DH passed in Feb and ditto. In fact, he's only driven our monster of a car a handful of times and he drove it into the side of the house on one of those occasions.

TobyLerone · 13/09/2014 10:52

Lol. She's had a CAR. She's never had a cat. :o

FelixFelix · 13/09/2014 11:31

Toby I'd like to drive a cat around instead of the car. I preferred motorway to driving on normal roads. You don't have to do much Grin

Naturegirl82 · 13/09/2014 19:36

Haha Dh woke up from a nap on the sofa before and said he doesn't know how I do it every night! Smile

beccajoh · 13/09/2014 20:33

DH and I had a conversation like that when Archie was about three weeks old. He was being bottle fed by then and DH had done a night. He said "Imagine if you were breastfeeding. You'd have to do this every night by yourself. You'd be exhausted." Err, I didn't need to imagine as that's what I did with DD for seven months!!!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 13/09/2014 20:45

Hello, I lost you for a bit.
Sorry to hear of the sleep troubles, hope they improve soon.

felix congrats on the test and motorway driving, it is piss easy, isn't it?
Also congrats MrF on the job.

nature hope you get your weekend away.

Alex is now crawling, pulling up on everything in sight (including mirrors, with her tiny gecko like hands), and clapping. It's exhausting! She's def in the massive 'world of categories' wonder week, showing all the signs, and v clingy for her She follows me around the house like a kitten. It's kind of adorable!
Also had green poos for ages, have sent a stool sample to the docs, so waiting to hear. They are almost all green, slimy and vile. No matter how much protein she has, they are nothing like grown up poos. HV was blasé, but GP took it more seriously, hence the sample.

I'm waiting for results of blood tests, been having bad dizzy spells, chills/shakes (with no fever) and muscle aches, and hot flushes for a while. Hope it's just hormones...

alteredimages · 14/09/2014 14:05

Was wondering where you'd gone humpty. Glad you're back but sorry to hear you've been unwell. I hope the results put your mind at rest and you get better soon.

N's green poos have gone now thankfully, though he did have one yesterday after eating egg.

Sleep here is not really happening and the long school commute is making things hard as is constant negativity from PIL. Sad

I am going to have a nap now and studiously ignore anyone calling my name if I do wake up!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 14/09/2014 16:36

Oman is lovely, we're going to Dubai tomorrow which will be lovely.

Henry isn't sleeping well. He keeps waking at 12/1am crying and needing to be settled. Then waking up at 6.15, which is crap.

FizzypopFireball · 14/09/2014 22:02

Welcome back Humpty, sorry to hear you've not been feeling well. Henry had poo like that for a while. It cleared up the day we sent off the stool sample, typically enough. The results came back clear so we don't really know what caused it. Hope A's clears up soon too - it's pretty horrible stuff, isn't it, and very acidic on their poor bums.

I'm going to the docs next week as well. I think I might have a thyroid problem. My hair is still falling out in masses, and is all dandruffy, and please don't hate me for saying this, but I've lost so much weight. I have a huge appetite and eat as much as DH, but still the weight goes. I thought it might be a side effect of breastfeeding, but Henry isn't feeding as much as before. Oh, and to top it all off, I have developed adult acne which isn't really helping with my shyness. I go to a group and think people don't want to talk to me as I'm so spotty Sad.

Hope those with coughs and bugs are feeling better, and hope the workers have a nice easy week!

FizzypopFireball · 14/09/2014 22:06

altered did you ever find out what Nour is allergic to? I seem to remember you weren't sure if it was egg or dairy. Does the green poo point more to it being egg?

Actually, Humpty, when H had his green poo, a lot of people suggested it might be an allergy. Could that be the case with A?

MrsGSR · 15/09/2014 08:18

Hope you feel better soon humpty and fizzy!

We spent the weekend in Devon, and Leah slept in our bed in between us. She is being really clingy, she kept stirring and reaching out to check I was there, then going back to sleep. Except when I went to the loo, and she screamed. Going to try the pick up put down thing tonight.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/09/2014 09:36

fizz, inevitably the stool sample will come back clear and her green poos will vanish!

No idea if it's an allergy - she eats all sorts, so could well be. Gulp!

MrsG hope you enjoyed hols!

alteredimages · 15/09/2014 13:09

fizz not been to the doctor yet for allergy tests but I am guessing egg given the green poos the other day. Also limiting/eliminating dairy, though he had only had yoghurt.

I have decided to stay where we are and sign up DD for the school bus. It will be a long journey for her but at least the flat will be habitable when she gets home!

alteredimages · 15/09/2014 13:12

fizzsorry you haven't been feeling well. I have eczema on my legs almost constantly so I know what you mean about confidence. Some people can be funny but I try and see it as pre sorting of potential friends and a good time saving device. Smile

FelixFelix · 15/09/2014 14:41

Oh fizz I really feel for you. I have had bad acne for over 10 years now and it's horrible. I really hope your doctors appointment goes well!

S has officially decided she's had enough of sleeping better now and she was back to hourly wake ups last night. DP is off from work ill today with a terrible cold and he took her so I could sleep this morning, bless him!

FelixFelix · 15/09/2014 14:44

Altered how long is the bus?

Million hope you're enjoying your holiday. Do you think he's unsettled because he's in a new place?

Humpty hope you're feeling better soon.

MrsG hope you had a good hol! I must admit waking up to check you're still there in the night sounds cute but obviously must be a nightmare having such a clingy baby!!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 15/09/2014 16:34

Fizzy I have blood tests book for thyroid and diabetes checks when I get back. My hair is massively falling out, I'm shattered constantly, and I've also lost weight. Best of luck!

He could be off because we're away, but it'll be fine. He's doing ok, just when he wakes he's awake for a while. At least we're with my folks so I can bum around during the day

Naturegirl82 · 15/09/2014 16:41

Argh train I'm on has broken down. I'm going to miss my connection which means I'm not going to be home in time to feed O before she goes to bed, which also means Dh won't be able to pick me up adding an extra 30 mins onto my journey on top of the delay! My boobs are about to explode so I may have to go and sit in the toilets and express glamorous Sad.
