That's what I feared! Grin

Swannykazoo · 07/09/2014 19:25

It all went quiet today as I was putting the last nappy of the day in the machine with the others - looked over, little puggle seemed to be sitting quietly. We were a bit Hmm but thought "oh good, he's getting a bit more settled" only to find the quiet phase was in fact that concentrating thing your baby does when its curling out a poo. On the carpet.

Naturegirl82 · 07/09/2014 20:12

Sorry puggle but that has just made me laugh! Grin

alteredimages · 07/09/2014 20:21

Oh no puggle! That is really gross. N has been doing that concentrating thing too, but thankfully when wearing a nappy. Glad H is all right after the scary cashew incident. I was the same when I suddenly found N coming out in blotches and his eye swelling shut but piriton seems to have sorted it here too. Still suspect egg but waiting for allergy tests. Wondering about the possibility of lactose intolerance too.

book N is driving me crazy with the moving about during nappy changes too. It is a pain!

We now have two teeth! I thought the chewing would calm down a bit now but no luck. Slight problem today when N decided he wanted to use DD's face as a teething ring.

beccajoh · 07/09/2014 20:21

LOL puggle!

TobyLerone · 07/09/2014 21:21

Oh, puggle! Gross :o

M had her first curry tonight. I made butter chicken and it was quite mild, so I gave her some and some homemade chapatti. She loved it, but I'm not looking forward to tomorrow's nappy.

MerryPops · 07/09/2014 21:42

Ditto toby, really mild curry on Fri for mini Pops, he enjoyed it but it was today's nappies that bore the brunt! Also ditto on the nappy wriggling, very Hmm.

Pops Jr has had a busy developmental week, he is now on his hands and knees rather than ass or arms only, and he has learned to clap. His gum has a hole and I can feel his first tooth coming through. How long do they normally take to come through the gum? On the downside he is now not even napping an hour in the day, we manage to get him to sleep 2/3 times a day but he is napping for no more than 30 minutes. Cue grumpy baby by 6pm!

Sorry to hear about all the scary food allergies going on.

Puggle that is gross, but kinda funny only when it happens to someone else glad little puggle is better after the allergy episode. Mil tried to worry me into being over cautious as she is coeliac, but dh isn't so we have proceeded as normal with all foods, so far so good.

becca I'm still Grin at the knicker cuddling

Million great news on H!

Book I am in awe of your survival skills.

That's all I can remember! Good night all and let's all have a good week next week.

Swannykazoo · 08/09/2014 08:50

Mmm butter chicken. I'll add that to the list of things I'm making when I'm back on dairy. Are chapattis easy to make Toby?

TobyLerone · 08/09/2014 09:07

The butter chicken recipe was easy. It's a slow cooker one. And you could easily make it dairy-free (although then it would just be a curry!).
Chapattis are the easiest thing in the world to make. Plain wholemeal flour and water. 250g to 200ish ml (add water gradually towards the end because it's not an exact amount. It just needs to be the amount needed to make a soft, not too sticky dough). Knead for a bit until elastic. Roll into balls (this amount makes about 8, flatten, roll out to about 6" circles and dry-fry for a minute or so each side until bubbles form and they look done!

TobyLerone · 08/09/2014 09:08

Oh, and you'll need a fair bit more wholemeal flour for rolling out, but it's fine if they're a bit floury.

FelixFelix · 08/09/2014 10:22

I lost you all for a while then! Sylvie loves curry too, and bean chilli with loads of garlic and smoked paprika Shock Toby I love making chapattis. Even better if you can buy some gram flour, but it usually comes in a huge bag so I always just nick some of my Mums as she always has it in.

Did anyone find a solution to the leaky night time nappy problem? The past week or so we have had the same issue. This morning Sylvie woke up at 5 absolutely soaked through so I had to change her then she was wide awake. We use pampers 4 or 4+ but maybe a different brand would be better? She's still having 7oz at bed time, then another bottle or even 2 through the night but I don't know how to stop it as she seems genuinely hungry when she wakes up.

Naturegirl82 · 08/09/2014 11:03

Argh can't stop eating chocolate, must be something about sitting at my desk. Not going to help the weight loss

My new car has a fault Sad nothing major but seems it's been known about for a while and a fix was issued at the start of August. Why they couldn't have sorted it before I picked the car up I don't know. Need to phone the dealer at lunchtime to sort it out. Very annoying.

BookTart · 08/09/2014 12:25

That's annoying nature, I'd be Angry

No luck here Felix, she managed to piddle through a 2.5 tog sleeping bag, sheets/blankets and mattress protector yesterday. She's too little for 4+ and size 4 pull ups, so I might try some other brands. Anyone got any recs?

Gettingthroughthis · 08/09/2014 12:29

Oh dear puggle baby's are gross!

felix we found that giving water at night rather than milk has mostly solved the problem. H also seems v hungry but usually he's happy with water and will only have an oz or so rather than 8oz of milk at a time.

toby I had no idea they were that easy, I'll have to make some

H has learnt to pull his top half up onto steps etc and went quiet earlier while I was very busy watching tv and he'd pulled himself up onto the bottom shelf of console table and pulled over the reed diffuser. Mouth and hands stunk (very nice though) but the balls were very slippy so don't think he ate any just probably put oily hands in his mouth. Had a google and think he'll be ok. Naughty baby

FelixFelix · 08/09/2014 13:06

Thanks getting, I will give that a try tonight!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/09/2014 13:18

We arrived this morning at 5am, Oman time. So 2am uk time. The boys had 3 hours sleep since 6.30am yesterday so we're all running on empty. Still, it's lovely here

TarkaTheOtter · 08/09/2014 14:16

Hope you are having a nice time million.
book I'm not sure that there are any brands more absorbent than pampers. I'd try the 4+ even if they don't look a great fit. Just overlap the tabs as much as possible at the front. I ended up moving A into 5s really early so that him and dd were in the same size. DD is a large 2.5yr old so obviously a completely different shape but still no leaks round legs etc.

I'd really like to join the facebook group if it's still going. Can I PM someone my details so I can be added? :)

TobyLerone · 08/09/2014 14:23

PM me if you like, Tarka. I'll have to add you as a friend, I think. Then I can add you.

We're finding Pampers ok at night, even though M is feeding sometimes 6 times between bedtime and 7am. She's in size 3 Baby Dry but I managed to find 3+ yesterday. And then I got an email this morning to say I've been selected to do a MN product test on Active Fit. So I'll be receiving a pack of those in the post soon too! Considering we're using 1 a day, we're now set for a couple of months!

TarkaTheOtter · 08/09/2014 15:08

Thanks toby will do.

A is having a long nap for once and have distracted toddler with some cartoon nonsense on netflix so having some long overdue peace and quiet!

alteredimages · 08/09/2014 20:37

Ooh me too! I want to be in the fb group please. Grin I will PM you when I actually have an account toby, if that's ok.

Glad you arrived safely million, have fun!

nature that is a total pain and I would be very Angry too.

getting oops! They do move around so fast. N's current favourites are trying to stick his fingers in the vents on the side of the freezer and turning on MIL's fan and getting closer than I would like to the blades. He nicked all my fish today too and I can't get rid of the mackerel smell.

We are probably moving out of our flat because it is too far away from DD's school so will look for somewhere to rent closer by. I really can't be bothered moving again but it is rubbish being stuck at MIL's because DH is too tired to take us home and hanging around all day waiting to pick her up. I am hoping for somewhere within walking distance, fingers crossed!

TobyLerone · 08/09/2014 20:54

Fine with me, altered :)
And sounds like moving would be a good idea. I don't think I could cope with all that.

FelixFelix · 09/09/2014 09:25

Altered moving sounds like it would benefit you all so much. I hope you find something suitable.

S has managed to catch a cold Sad she's all sniffly and runny! First time she's been ill. Not bad to say she's almost 9 months. Had another leaky nappy last night. Right through her vest, babygrow, sleeping bag, sheet and mattress protector. I can't seem to wash sheets fast enough! Tried not giving her milk but she just cried hysterically. It's weird as she's only ever done this occasionally before but it's been every night for a week or so, even though she's not drinking any more than usual.

TarkaTheOtter · 09/09/2014 19:15

Thanks for adding me toby. I'm waiting for dh to return from abroad with his iPad and the good photos then I'll post something.

Can I ask for some baby entertaining ideas? I'm ill (not sure what, temp over 39 and slight sore throat). I feel awful and whilst dd can be plonked in front of Netflix, I'm struggling with A. He wants to crawl but just goes backwards and gets cross. Treasure baskets just seem to piss him off now. Any ideas? Dh too busy to be much help even when he is in the same country.

Naturegirl82 · 09/09/2014 20:26

tarka probably not much help but we put nursery rhymes on you tube on the TV to keep O entertained if we need to. Hope you feel better soon.

TarkaTheOtter · 09/09/2014 21:02

Thanks nature he just does not seem that interested in TV. He's sleeping badly too at the moment so it might be that he's just going through a pissed off phase (or whatever wonder weeks calls it).
