Great million! Nice to have the reassurance before you go off on holiday. Agree about weigh ins being stressful though.

beccajoh · 05/09/2014 13:23

Altered I begrudgingly gave my comfort blanket (an old pyjama top of mine) to DD about, err, 18 months ago at the age of 33 Blush. I must give M&S its dues for creating such a durable piece of clothing! It's lost a few buttons along the way but otherwise is pretty intact!

TGIF!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Angelesque · 05/09/2014 19:03

Aah Nature TGIF indeed!!! Did my first four day week back at work this week and I am spent.

reaches for bottle of wine, inserts straw

TobyLerone · 05/09/2014 19:17

Well done, workers! You have my admiration Flowers

Naturegirl82 · 05/09/2014 19:21

I've got the cava chilling in the fridge Grin What possessed me to go back full time straight away I'll never know.

On the plus side I seem to have gained quite a bit of power with my new job and more importantly a massive office. People are even knocking on the door before they enter. Makes me feel very important Smile and lets me close down mn before anyone sees

FizzypopFireball · 05/09/2014 21:13

I can't believe some of you have the energy, and more importantly the brain power to go back to work! My brain is seriously mush - my short term memory in particular is all to pot. Talk about Baby Brain! I doff my cap to the workers.

What a brilliant idea, Becca, with the silky knickers!. I did give a chuckle though! It's tempting to try it with Henry, but he also does this thing where, before latching on for a feed, he sucks his thumb and strokes my nipple whilst simultaneously sniffing it..... He also makes these little groans of pleasure.... I can just imagine how wrong it would look if he was holding a pair of silky knickers too.....

Can't believe I've just told you about the nipple sniffing.....!

Hello all,

Felix hope your ll doesn't give notice. Check out Entitledto re:benefits. Think with TC that you cannot inform them of a change until after it happens, but HB application can be done in advance if you have dates that unemployment is starting.

Becca dd2 was like that at this age. I survived by taking her to the living room, strapping her in bouncy chair or buggy with a few toys tied on and sticking on the computer. I then snoozed on the sofa.

Nature s. nds tough, glad O is settling in to her new routine well. Enjoy your cava.

Toby hope the nights stay improved.

Altered glad dd loves school and that N is getting better tummy wise.

Million great news about DH's passport!

Things have been rough here, hence no posting. Ds teethed for a week and pushed through two teeth last week with hourly wakings. He then caught an awful virus with chesty cough, laryngitis and vomiting coinciding with the start of school. Night before last he woke 15 times. I am also ill with same bug without the vomiting, I am on my knees. Dd2 also acting up as her play mate dd1 is gone all day and ds has been to unwell to take to toddler group. So, so glad DH has the weekend off. He has promised me a day where all I have to do is breastfeed tomorrow. Not sure whether I should take him up on it fully though, as the flat might be a pig sty if I do nothing, leaving me more to do on Sunday.

Naturegirl82 · 06/09/2014 10:40

We are off to a 1st birthday party this afternoon. Would you put your LO's in something easy to play in (O is currently wearing a lovely dungaree set) or would you get them dressed up I.e a dress? Confused

TobyLerone · 06/09/2014 11:10

Definitely something easy to play in once they're mobile. Every time.

Naturegirl82 · 06/09/2014 12:36

Thanks. We shall stick with the dungarees if they survive lunch! Quite excited to be going to O's first friends birthday party. Smile

AMillionNameChangesLater · 06/09/2014 14:02

In 5 mins I'll be able to check in for our flights... I'm very excited.

We are all packed and ready to go, and I'm stuck at work until 4pm. Eek!!

AnotherStitchInTime · 06/09/2014 14:40

Enjoy your time away million, hope the journey goes smoothly.

Nature glad you went for the dungees on Toby's advice, much less crying and frustration if they can just be babies without worrying about dirtying a pretty party dress.

BookTart · 06/09/2014 17:56

another that sounds terrible. I hope you're all better soon.

Enjoy your break million!

DH's house guest has gone. She's lovely and P adored her, but she repeatedly described her using terms like "hyperactive" and "high maintenance" to people on the phone. I'm getting worried that I can't contain P's behaviour anymore. She's whining constantly, refusing meals all the time, making nappy changes a nightmare with her rolling, and falling over and hurting her massive head several times a day. She's back to waking hourly as well. Please tell me this will pass, I'm not sure I'm enjoying this right now!

AnotherStitchInTime · 06/09/2014 18:17

It is just a phase book, it will move on soon to another one with it's own challenges ;-}

Naturegirl82 · 06/09/2014 19:48

book I honestly wouldn't call O high maintenance and she refuses meals loads sat on my lap eating dinner tonight as she refused the high chair rolls over during nappy changes and stands up on the changing table Shock , and has about 5 new bumps on her head a day, also O's sleep has gone to pot!! So I really would try not to worry too much. How is the sleep diary going? When do you have your first appointment with the consultant?

Had a lovely day with O today. I think being at work is making me appreciate the time I have with her more.

Swannykazoo · 06/09/2014 20:08

Fuuuccckkk! Saw a recipe for a cream substitute made with cashews for fajitas and thought I'd try it tonight -blah really, won't bother again
Anyway, little puggle had a wee bit of chicken out of mine (DH on full sour cream & cheese goodness) and 5mins later started crying and itchy like I've never seen, face and neck covered in hives....
Fucking cashews!
He's intolerant of milk & soya which I'm sure he'll grow out of but I'm genuinely scared about a nut allergy. Piriton on board and mouth seems ok. FUCK -I'll have to be properly careful
BTW tooth no 6&7 on the way in -sleep in more than 1 hour blocks is a distant memory

BookTart · 06/09/2014 20:22

Bloody hell puggle, that's scary. I'm glad Little Puggle is okay now. Was your Piriton prescribed, or do you just use the OTC syrup? I'm df for P, but DH made me a milky tea yesterday and it made me think that I ought to have something in, just in case.

The sleep diary is done nature. It turns out that P has less than 8 hours a night (interrupted hourly) and only 2 hours max in the day, so she's missing hours of sleep every day. I feel quite guilty about this, but hopefully we'll be able to work on it in a couple of weeks. I speak to the sleep consultant again at the end of this week or beginning of next. Can't wait!

Swannykazoo · 06/09/2014 20:28

Its prescribed book but its exactly the same as the OTC stuff which just says not for under 2s. GP gave us some as he was so itchy his sleep was dreadful (and mine too)
Arse. Trying to research nut allergies on MN and keep getting the sodding biscuit

BookTart · 06/09/2014 21:00

I think I read that cashew allergies often go with an allergy to mango for some reason puggle. Sounds a bit weird though. I hope it is just a one-off, nut allergies are so difficult.

beccajoh · 06/09/2014 21:03

Scary stuff puggle Sad

OP posts:
Swannykazoo · 06/09/2014 21:05

Weird - only allergy combo that I'd heard of is latex and kiwi. Can't get little puggle to touch mango despite him scoffing most stone fruit and soft fruit so I'll maybe stop trying!
Good luck with your sleep consultant

TobyLerone · 06/09/2014 21:52

How scary, puggle! I'm always so grateful that none of my DC have scary food allergies. Those and epilepsy terrify me and I am always impressed with parents who deal with them.

Book, I'll add my voice to those agreeing that P (unfortunately!) is normal with the whinging, food faffing, sleep issues etc. And the sodding about during nappy changes is driving me insane! I (gently!) pinned M down with a foot earlier!

AnotherStitchInTime · 07/09/2014 00:03

Scary puggle, push for allergy testing asap via your GP. Dd2 has piriton on prescription since her hive reactions, very useful.

I find an interesting toy useful for nappy changes with a well placed arm or foot for more wriggly moments too Toby.

beccajoh · 07/09/2014 10:27

Yeah the wriggly nappy changes don't get any easier. With DD from about 9 months until she was about 21 months, all nappy changes were done with her standing up Confused We bought those pull up nappies (Pampers Easy up) as it made life quite a bit easier than wrestling with her every time!

And the whinging and faffing with food doesn't get any better! It's the new normal ladies!
