Sylvie wakes up every 2 hours anyway (sometimes every hour or more Confused) so I don't know if the heat is affecting her. I swear she's got a radar that makes her wake up just as I'm falling asleep Hmm

We are going up to the in laws in Durham tonight until Sunday. DP's niece has just been bought an extremely large pool and has allowed S to go in it as long as she doesn't poo Grin so DP is going to go in with her. I'm too chicken to put a swimming costume on!

I've always hated the hot weather and can't wait until autumn! Such a party pooper!

Naturegirl82 · 25/07/2014 13:55

I'm wondering whether O is waking up because she is cold, strange as that sounds when the room is 26 degrees. But I bought a fan two days ago and it's been since then her sleeping has gone downhill. May test that theory tonight.

Just had a lovely morning in Liverpool watching the giants. Definitely worth seeing if you are close by.

MerryPops · 25/07/2014 15:28

X is being sick again Sad. Back to Dr's who doesn't think it's anything sinister as he is otherwise quite chipper. Just got to ride it out. Dh is not good at being ill, X is coping far better! Hope to make it though the weekend with some vomit-free clothing and without snapping at dh. Fingers crossed everyone!

Angelesque · 25/07/2014 23:15

Merry fingers crossed for a vom free weekend!!

30 degrees in the flat today... Has just about fallen to 27 degrees now at nearly midnight. F is sleeping in a nappy - we've ditched his usual vest and sleeping bag as it's just crazy hot right now.

Felix I agree - roll on autumn! Let's be miserable old farts together Grin

Naturegirl82 · 26/07/2014 17:13

merry hope X is feeling better.

O slept better last night but woke crying in pain just after 5. Couldn't work out what was wrong until she did the biggest poo and fart I've ever heard her do! Bless her must have had a tummy ache. Guess it's her insides getting used to solid food.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 26/07/2014 18:12

Sorry, in a rush, but just read enormouse post - sweetie, do keep posting. What toby said! your advice is still ace, the PND isn't who you are. You're doing great.

Oh, and saw on other thread that another just lost a friend, so sad. another, if you're reading! thinking of you. Thanks

Naturegirl82 · 27/07/2014 09:32

O has started to cruise the furniture Shock . She is growing up far too fast Sad

FelixFelix · 28/07/2014 12:48

Wow nature Shock

Meeting up with NCT ladies today for a little picnic which should be nice. I can't wait for this heatwave to be over though. Aghhhh!!!!!

MerryPops · 28/07/2014 20:02

Well Xander is better, can't seem to feed him enough! Just about to have a cooking fest to get some stuff together for the freezer, cooking on a hot night, fun!

How was your picnic Felix?

Bless O nature, definitely need eyes in the back of your head now!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/07/2014 07:31

We have two teeth! Both coming through (bottom ones) at once. She's remarkably fine about it considering! I'm so excited for her, little pickle!

MerryPops · 29/07/2014 08:23

Teeth, bless! Nothing on this side. Because he drools a lot everyone says he must be due a tooth but he has drooled a lot since 12 weeks old! Glad she hasn't suffered with them humpty

TobyLerone · 29/07/2014 08:28

No teeth here, either, and we get exactly the same, merry!

FelixFelix · 29/07/2014 11:12

It was good thanks merry. Nice to have some adult conversation for once!

No teeth here either Sad

Dunno if any of you live near a Kiddicare store but I've just read they are all closing down (apart from the Peterborough one) and going online only so they have a big clearance on all of their stock. Bargains to be had apparently!

Gettingthroughthis · 29/07/2014 12:28

Ooh is that true felix? There's one down the road from me so will go and have a look :)

humpty we have the front 2 bottom teeth coming through too. They are all getting far too old!

enormouse please feel free to post whenever you want. I've posted plenty of moany messages so am happy to listen to whAtever you want to moan about :)

Been to messy play for the first time this morning. I'm worried that I'm 'that' mum. Henry was sat on the table in just his shorts covered in glittered jelly while others were just putting hands in. I washed him off in the sink and then got stuck back in. Didn't think until I got home but Henry's always the loud/ boisterous/ messy one. I encourage it but now I'm worried I'm the one people will complain about when were gone

TobyLerone · 29/07/2014 14:13

Isn't that the point of messy play, getting?
When you said you were 'that' mum I thought you meant you'd covered him from head to toe in some sort of apron and only let him play serenely with water (no splashing!)

Naturegirl82 · 29/07/2014 15:26

Tis true about kiddicare I went there yesterday, not massive discounts though but generally about 10% off most things in store. Was lucky for us as I was about to pop to mothercare for some bits.

beccajoh · 29/07/2014 15:29

That's a bit mad about kiddicare! They've not long opened a huge store near Southampton, only been open a year or so!

beccajoh · 29/07/2014 15:37

Archie LOVES his food. Gets really excited when it's meal times and he's on three solid meals now. For lunch today he had mashed chicken and veg, half a fish finger and most of a big marmite rice cake! He's sleeping really well now so the food has made a difference. He's in bed by 6.30pm, has a nappy change and dream feed at about 10pm, then sleeps until about 7am, although often needs a nappy change around 5am, which is a bit annoying especially as it's just wet.

He's fallen into a lovely routine now:

7.30-8am milk and breakfast
Nap
10am milk
11.30-12 lunch and milk
Nap
2.30-3 milk
Short nap around 4pm
5pm tea
6pm bath, milk and
6.30pm bed

Naturegirl82 · 29/07/2014 18:12

Kiddicare was owned by Morrisons but has recently been bought by an American company. Apparently the shops are loss makers so they are closing them down and just concentrating online.

Naturegirl82 · 29/07/2014 18:13

becca that routine looks fab. O tried broccoli today and liked it a lot more than carrot!

Swannykazoo · 29/07/2014 19:21

Anybody have any idea what size are the babies' stomachs? Was trying a corncake thingy with little puggle which went down well but then lunch seemed to be over -wonder if it filled him up too much? And do any of you BLWers/finger food people find your baby gets a biggish bit stuck in their mouth? Little puggle seems to have mastered biting off bits but not chewing....

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 29/07/2014 20:39

I just let Meredith eat until she's had enough. Sometimes that's more than other times. Like us, I suppose.

She does bite off big bits of things, but is quite adept at scaring the bejesus out of DH by gagging/choking it back up again. Usually it's bread she does this with. She just keeps biting bits off until there's a huge wodge of it in her mouth. Then she tries to swallow it. Bad times. I don't give her much soft bread for this reason!

alteredimages · 30/07/2014 01:28

Embarrassingly puggle, I did this myself with a bit of chicken a few weeks back. I can't remember why but I had to gag a bit to spit it out. Blush I do think it is normal for them to bite off bits before they can move food round their mouth easily, I know N does this. In the end he either swallows it or spits it out. He seems to find bread and veg harder to manage than chicken and meat.

becca that routine looks great. We are going to our flat tomorrow now ramadan is over (Eid mubarak everyone!) so I will nick it for settling N into a better schedule.

Re: previous furniture discussion, we went to ikea and spent £1000. Oops. We did get everything though, including mattresses and a lot of plastic tubs and toys! DD washed her new soft toy dog in the washing machine by herself. Unfortunately she put it in with N's dirty terry nappies and filled the detergent drawer to the top. I spent a whole day rerunning the rinse cycle to get rid of all the suds, but thankfully both dog and washing machine emerged unscathed.

getting I thought the same as toby. What's the point of messy play if they can't get stuck in?

No teeth here yet at almost 7 months, but N started crawling yesterday! He has been moving forwards for a week or so but got the coordination between hands and legs sorted yesterday. He is so much more active than DD was, I can't sit with him on my knee without him climbing over my shoulder or wriggling off my lap. Trouble looming, methinks!

Naturegirl82 · 30/07/2014 11:16

Bless your dd altered. At least you managed to get the suds out.

Yay for Noah's crawling. He sounds like O, never staying still!

Just bought myself a new sling. Smile Exciting.

O had another ultrasound today. Kidney still looks to be developing normally which is good but they still aren't 100% what the structure is on the other side.

Our nights seem to have gone to pot at the moment. O sleeps well but is waking a few times for feeds and I don't know if it's just that I'm so tired I don't have the patience or she is harder to put back in her cot but we are ending up Co sleeping from about 3am. Need to catch up on some sleep today when O naps I think. Also need to get her to self settle and stop feeding to sleep. I have a feeling the next few weeks are not going to be fun Sad Any tips anyone???

FelixFelix · 30/07/2014 13:13

Yay altered! I have a wriggler too. I'd love to have a baby that would sit on my knee so I could cuddle the crap out of her (not literally Grin) but I just get head butted instead. No crawling here yet either but she will roll around and also shuffle backwards.

I hope some teeth are coming through because S has been so mardy the past few days and nothing seems to make it better. It also doesn't help that she just toppled over and hit her face on this huge plastic pop up ball thing she's got and it's left a big red mark next to her eye Confused poor sod.
