Flowers for your Salt. Hope you are doing something lovely today and taking care of yourself.

JuniperTisane · 21/01/2015 11:42

That beats my 10 this year. 5 more before marriage though. How's Floss? Any news on the housing front?

Here's a picture to make you all laugh. Daniel has been at my fruit bowl and this is all thats left AngryHmm I found them strewn across the kitchen.

lollipoppi · 21/01/2015 12:21

Thanks Salt, hope you and floss are doing ok

I'm liking the idea of the MN house! DP is brill with the children, the only problem is he is never home Sad he works 7 days a week leaving at 5.30am and getting home at 6.30pm so pretty much on my own with them all week

Speaking of weddings, we're getting married in 16 weeks! We booked it all a few weeks back and now it's dawning on me just how little time I have to organise everything!

glorious · 21/01/2015 17:35

Flowers salt, that must be so hard. Have you got company tonight?

Thanks cupcakes , it is a bit hard, but easier for me than him I think. Just very tiring.

Definitely up for a mn commune, though I think I'd bring DH along too Grin We could leave all the DPs with the DCs and retreat to another wing of the mansion forWine

LetThereBeCupcakes · 26/01/2015 07:47

Glorious So long as the DPs PROMISE to stay in their own wing then I'm OK with it. I'm not cleaning up after them though.

DS' birthday was lovely. We had a nice low-key grandparents only affair on the day, then the party on Saturday. 7 toddlers in my living room and it looked like a Toys R Us had exploded, but they had a lovely time. Unfortunately after consecutive days of people dropping in with presents for DS, he woke up this morning and imediately said "presents! Party!". Hmm

DS has suddenly started putting words together - it's like something has just clicked. Usually it's something along the lines of "more chocolate mummy!", but I'm still counting it as progress!

Tugstonia · 26/01/2015 11:17

Hi all,

Happy birthday to your DS cupcakes! Sounds like lots of fun all round. I'm feeling massively underprepared for my DD's birthday on Friday. She's VERY excited though which makes me feel even more like I'm not prepared! We bought her a "big girls bed", which she loves the idea of, but won't bloody sleep in, and have bought some books and new shoes for her, but that's it so far. Thinking of getting an Aqua Doodle, does anyone have one?

It was my b'day yesterday and had a nice day out with DP and DD, although my massive pregnant body just wanted to lie on the sofa and watch a film and eat cake.

How are you Salt? How's the house-hunting going? Flowers for you

Lolli v exciting about your wedding!

Hope everyone's doing well. :)

lollipoppi · 05/02/2015 17:38

Helllooooo (echo echo echo)

All is quiet on the thread

DD has hit the terrible twos right on que, she has become a right little madam this past week, temper tantrum central in this house Confused

JuniperTisane · 06/02/2015 11:37

We're in the middle of great big sobbing snotty tears for the littlest things here, like me filling his cup up or making him wear shoes to go outside Hmm.

It is quiet isn't it?

Tugstonia · 06/02/2015 13:28

We're having terrible twos tantrums a plenty here too, including some mega ones on her birthday last week. It's exhausting.

How is everyone? It is very quiet here nowadays.

I'm now on maternity leave - woo hoo! Have loads to sort out for new baby, including getting a double buggy. Those with two dc or more, any recommendations? We have the baby jogger city mini at the mo, which DD is getting too big for, but otherwise it's brilliant, so I'm thinking about getting the double version. Any tips greatly appreciated. I know some of you are buggy experts Wink

JuniperTisane · 06/02/2015 15:41

Hey Tugs, when are you due? I had tandems but if I were to get a side-by-side it would probably be the BJCM, or if you can find one, the BJCM-GT. I had a BJCSelect which was too heavy, too long and awful and a Micralite Twofold which I still need to sell which was fantastic for an older baby and toddler combo, not sure about a newborn.

glorious · 07/02/2015 18:05

Hello all. Very busy few weeks here preparing for a stupidly epic Hungry Caterpillar party and working long hours as well. A few pics of the party food here as I was so proud I coaxed my (limited) creative and artistic skills out! We also did a sensory tub, salt dough handprints like butterflies, sticking caterpillars, reading the book, singing a song, crawling through a cocoon, and caterpillar play dough in the party bags. For 11 children and 25 adults in our (not huge) house. It was a week ago and I haven't quite recovered!

Blink1982 · 08/02/2015 00:24

Glorious that looks great! Well done u. Lols at juniper stepping in as resident pushchair advisor ;) we just got a new one today(only a chicco london stroller), hes so tall, similar to three yr olds so we have trouble finding one he looks comfy in, the last two cheapo 'keep in the car' ones, his legs dangled and he couldnt rest them on the foot bit. Hes two and a half stone already, size 8 feets, whats the credentials of your little people out of interest?

So my friend is getting married in the middle of nowhere and has said no kids at the church (fine by me her wedding etc i know the mn rules on this) they can come to reception. This is all happening an hr from civilisation, an hr and a half from my mum n dads babysitting services. Im a bridesmaid so i kind of have to turn up :-D
Me n dp have decided that when she finally has dc we will get married n say no under 5s as pay back for the traumatic kid logistics we have to sort for hers :-D

Dexter can throw some serious strops too, although im really pleased i instilled the mantra 'you hafto be nice to mum mum' because he'll either slap his dads leg or chuck a toy in anger if ive said no or annoyed him.

Blink1982 · 08/02/2015 00:27

Please note, the chucking of toys does get an 'erm no you dont chuck things' comment, which makes him even sadder, but at least i dont get assaulted by a deranged toddler!

JuniperTisane · 08/02/2015 08:47

Blush. The problem I'm having is spending my day fighting fires between the boys who play nicely together for a few minutes and then war breaks out over whe has the dumper and who has the digger Hmm

Lovely pictures Glorious. The cakes look fantastic.

AppleCrumples · 08/02/2015 12:27

Juniper oh god the fighting! Mine are 9 and 11 and still fighting, tho not as much as the 6 and 9 year olds they drive me crackers :)

Tugs never had a double so cannot advise.

Am after a new buggy too. Tha hauck is on its last legs and the joie brisk I have is set strange on the seat and ivy (who is massive) can't sit comfortably in it. Looking at a silvercross pop.

We have diva strops here. She pouts and stamps her foot --which makes me laugh and doesn't really help :)

lollipoppi · 08/02/2015 20:09

Lovely glorious, sounds like an amazing party

Blink dd is only dinky, little size 5 feet, DS however was huge at this age!

Oh my the fighting, it's never ending here, fighting with each other, fighting for my attention, they love each other for about 10 minutes in the morning, then all hell breaks loose

Tugstonia · 09/02/2015 12:10

Thanks for the buggy advice Jun. I'm going to have a look at the BJCM double and Phil and Teds tomorrow. Due 24th March so still have a few weeks. Some friends have said they had newborn in a sling the whole time so didn't need a double immediately, but if I end up with another CS I won't want to be wearing a sling straight away. I dunno.

Glorious I'm v impressed by all the party food and hungry caterpillar theme! Hope E had a lovely b'day.

Blink DD's a size 6 on one foot and 6.5 on the other... apparently it's quite common Hmm That sounds annoying about the wedding. Hope you can sort some childcare.

meringue33 · 09/02/2015 21:30

Hello everyone have missed you absolutely loads. Been lurking occasionally and always meaning to post but bloody life keeps getting in the way!

Hope everyone had a fab Christmas and all the baby birthdays. The Hungry Caterpillar cake looks ace!
DS really enjoyed his birthday too, he was also asking for "my presents, my cake, my ice cream" for many days after.

Tugs sounds like you're doing well! You're about six weeks ahead of me? I can't wait to finish at work. So tired and DS is killing me with toddler sleep. It's often taking up to 2 hrs to get him in bed for the night and he wakes every night at some point and comes in with us and tries to use my face as a pillow, or kick me in the bump :(

Salt sending lots of love your way xxx

Lolli congratulations! We got married last summer and it really was the happiest day of my life :-) There is a lot to be said for laid back, family friendly weddings! Tell us all your plans for the day :-)

lollipoppi · 10/02/2015 09:35

Meringue, plans are coming along nicely. I desperately wanted a low key family wedding, but we both have a LOT of family and close friends, so the total is 90 guests.
Lovely local church wedding, then the reception is being held in a refurbished monastery, it's beautiful.
Owning a florist you would think that that would be our easiest task, but it's by far the most difficult, lots of pressure from family and friends to go all out on flowers, I don't think they realise we still have to actually pay for them Grin

glorious · 10/02/2015 18:35

Thanks everyone!

tugs v excited for your immanent arrival, and yours meringue . How are you both doing for names? can I name them?

lolli you must be v busy with Valentines coming up. Wedding sounds absolutely lovely. Will you have a big meal or is it going to be more casual?

Tugstonia · 10/02/2015 18:39

Hey meringue was wondering how you were doing! When are you finishing work? We're suffering with toddler sleep too, your ds sounds exactly the same as my dd! Soon tired and slightly terrified at the sleep deprivation ahead. Are you getting a double buggy?

Lolli your wedding sounds lovely, when's the big day?

meringue33 · 10/02/2015 19:21

Aw I bet the flowers will be beautiful Lolli! What's your dress like, do you have any pics?

We have the name sorted Glorious, it's a lot easier to pick girls names than boys isn't it!

Tugs I've got about 3-4 weeks left at work. Can't wait. I know, we really need to take some sort of action as we can't have everyone in one bed, I am too nervous about the potential risk to the newborn of having the toddler roll on her in the night. Plus his refusal to go to bed in the evenings means DH and I have no time to relax and recharge ourselves.

We have an Uppababy so may buy an extra deck for it. Going to wait a while longer to decide if it is needed though as LO uses it less and less these days, plus have ordered a Moby wrap for the littler one.

glorious · 10/02/2015 20:20

Imminent. Sigh.

Yes, we found our girls name list much easier than the boys one (didn't know what we were having)

lollipoppi · 10/02/2015 20:42

Tugs and meringue, very excited for you both!

We're getting married the 23rd May, hopefully this link will work for the dress ..... www.ronaldjoyce.com/en/collections/victoria-jane/17915#.VNprQ4kgHCQ

Valentines chaos is well underway, we specialise in tropical flowers so collected our freight from the airport this morning, all the tropicals are currently scattered in every room of my house, on the upside they need to be kept warm so heating is on full Wink
