Happy Christmas! Not opened our presents yet as PIL do them after lunch. E was a little horror at church but has been sweet over lunch and I'm currently trying to feed her to sleep.

I did get a geeky fun game involving the tube in my stocking though Grin

MsBug · 25/12/2014 22:24

Merry Xmas everyone!

Dd has had soooo many presents lavished on her by grandparents and has eaten way too much chocolate. We're off to the in laws tomorrow to do it all again.

Stockings on the doorknob is a good tip, I'll remember it for future years.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 26/12/2014 19:25

Hope everybody has had a fantastic Christmas. DS is utterly exhausted after all the excitement and is fast asleep in bed. DH has a bad back so has also gone to bed so he can lie flat, so it's just be and my traditional boxing day tea of cheese and biscuits. The dogs are looking hopeful.

Toot-toot madness in the cupcakes household - DS got 2 big sets for Christmas, plus some extra track and 4 extra cars. I know he's got another big set coming for his birthday, too.

Is anybody else feeling slightly swamped by all the STUFF?

cupcakes we have 4 dc xmas presents plus ds2 birthday presents. The house is stuffed with stuff! And its Ivys birthday next week. The worst is dd1 got loads of polly pocket and their teeny little shoes and clothes are bloody everywhere!

Ivy still full of cold and very clingy. Poor thing is a bit miserable and we have had to avoid seeing family as mil is asthmatic and could get really ill and sil recently had a preemie whoI ccertainly don't want to pass anything onto :(

It has been lovely to be all at home together although ds2 keeps beating me at trivial pursuit Hmm

Birdies · 27/12/2014 15:04

Got X's card on cbeebies, whoop whoop!

Birdies · 27/12/2014 15:07

cupcakes def feel a bit overwhelmed with all the presents. X hasn't even opened all her birthday ones yet.

JuniperTisane · 27/12/2014 17:30

Lovely Birdies Happy birthday X!

Considering Ikea storage options now...

lollipoppi · 28/12/2014 09:36

Hope everybody had a lovely Christmas and happy birthday to all the babies

I'm seriously considering taking the tree down, it's driving me nuts and taking up much needed toy space

Apple sorry Ivy is still poorly hope she is on the mend soon

Blink1982 · 28/12/2014 23:44

Happy birthday X!

JuniperTisane · 29/12/2014 10:33

I äm sitting in costa drinking coffee ALL BY MYSELF, a state of affairs that hasn't occurred for 2 years. Its bliss. Dh is home doing manly stuff like stopping two boys wrecking the house, crashing, fighting etc. I am out getting a few bits for dinner as my sister is coming over unexpectedly tonight.
Ordered the imaginext castle for Dans birthday and a knight costume.
Hope everyone's having a nice end of year.

MsBug · 29/12/2014 13:32

Happy birthday X! I am also having a peaceful cup of coffee as dd is napping and my friend I am meeting is running late.

glorious · 29/12/2014 17:39

Yay to quiet coffees!

E has chicken pox Shock Great Christmas present!

AppleCrumples · 29/12/2014 19:36

Oh dear glorious poor E Flowers

Like the idea of a quiet coffee (well tea, hate coffee) Ivy still very clingy and haven't had a break from the dc in ages. Dp has now announced he has Ivys virus and has gone to bed making pathetic noises. Thankfully she seems to be on the mend finally :) just need to work on her clingyness now!

We are starting a gymnastic class in jan which might help (assuming my anxiety doesn't ruin it)

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/12/2014 13:36

There's obviously something in the air as I'm alone too! DH is doing some odd jobs for a friend and has taken DS with him so he can play with her daughter. I've blitzed the house and done some scrapbooking, now I'm browsing the web for plants for DS' garden, which is my next project.

Not managed to sort out anything in preparation for DS' party but still time yet thank goodness!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 30/12/2014 13:54

Party? Not party! Birthday! Couldn't hack a party yet I don't think!

salt1 · 31/12/2014 21:21

glorious · 31/12/2014 23:06

Hello salt, how lovely to hear from you. I'll confess that the secret santa was me (and perhaps others too, I don't know) Xmas Smile

How are you finding living with your DM?

Good luck with the house hunting.

Blink1982 · 01/01/2015 00:33

Seems we all must of nominated then :-D glad things are improving. Happy new year!

AppleCrumples · 01/01/2015 19:19

Happy new year all :)

salt lovely to hear from you. Hope you get settled in a new home soon.

Ivy was a bit underwhelmed by her birthday today. I think she has had so much over the last week that she is abit over it all Hmm She did get excited over her cake though 'cake mine cake mine'! Loves her new baby Annabel though Dd1 got all jealous even though she has loads of dolls and always complains if Ivy plays with them.

JuniperTisane · 02/01/2015 09:15

Hello all. Happy birthday Ivy and also Bunty's C. Haven't seen her around for a while though.

Salt I would bet a fair few people on this thread nominated you this year. Hope you manage to find a place to live soon. How is F?

Off to sort out cake and present for sunday (even though its monday, everybody is here sunday so thats when his birthday will be). Amazon haven't dispatched the castle so I'm off to argos to nab one from there instead. Should've done that in the first place...

Preschool starts again on monday Hoo-bloody-ray!!

Tugstonia · 03/01/2015 14:44

Happy new year all!

Glorious how's E? Hope the pox is on the wane and you're all ok Flowers

Salt lovely to hear from you! I hope you and F are both well and find a new house soon x

Happy belated b'day to Ivy and Bunty's DD, and to Dan for Monday.

PILs are here for the weekend and are really doing my head in.

lollipoppi · 03/01/2015 16:30

Happy new year all!
And happy bday to all the little ones!

How is E now? Hope the spots aren't causing too much trouble

Salt, lovely to hear from you, how's the house hunting going?

It's my birthday today so just about to drop the kids off with parents and were going out for some much needed wine tonight

Tugstonia · 03/01/2015 18:22

Happy birthday Lolli! Have a fabulous time tonight :) Wine Cake

Blink1982 · 03/01/2015 23:32

Happy birthday Lolli!!

We went rescue cat hunting today, i finally feel ready after losing Snid in september. I was so proud at how gentle Dexter was with them... Our new arrival arrives tuesday :-D not sure the Yorkie is aware of or in agreement with our plans...

How many friends do your littlies have? I feel like ive done loads of groups etc, but we only have one kid we see and id class as his friend... And even that is because im friends with her mum, not because they love each others company. Im just feeling a bit sad because apart from family massive we only have one friend to invite :/

jan 2013- No, I will not have a new nappy
JuniperTisane · 04/01/2015 09:04

Oh how lovely Blink is that your new arrival?

Don't worry about friendships at just 2. They don't generally start playing with as opposed to alongside other children much until nearer 3. Even when they are happily sitting on the rug with toys running round the kitchen screaming they won't be collaborating very much in the game, just playing their own separate version but together. I am friends with less than half a dozen people with children around Dan's age, most of them are younger brothers or sisters of DS1's friends. Only 2 have ever come to play and thats because we arranged to have coffee and the kids tagged along.

DS1 at just-3 started preschool with speech delay and only a couple of kids he routinely played with at toddler group. A year and a bit later he has a solid group of definite friends that he mixes with at preschool and outside. It comes naturally with age. The year between 3 and 4 is when they start making proper friendships.
