Well done Blink, and fingers crossed for your DH today too

Cupcakes glad DS is getting better that's good news
Sorry about your rabbit Sad
Yes we're a florist Thanks

I need some girl inspiration for Christmas, I'm going to get dd a wooden playhouse, and some dolls, and a baby Annabell type doll (just a cheaper version) she plays with DS old toys like the wooden train track, I'm thinking the toot toot drivers set maybe

Tugstonia · 24/11/2014 10:48

Blink that's great news! Congrats. How did your dp get on? And love your crochet egg as well. Like Juniper I too have two left thumbs. DD is getting a Grufflo advent calendar from Thorntons it was on offer. Do want to get her a nice stocking or something though. Need to get organised.

Lolli your shop looks fab!

How is everyone? Cupcakes how is your DS now? All better I hope.

JuniperTisane · 24/11/2014 17:09

Madness here. Just made the worst fish pie in existence. After poaching the fish I gaily tipped all the milk down the drain and had to make the sauce with the kids soya milk Hmm. Then didn't leave any for mashing the spuds so they just have oil in to soften them. Put it all together, potato is all crumbly and the sauce is slightly sweet because the soya milk is.

That'll teach me to try cooking and tidying the kitchen, emptying the dishwasher, wash up, take off boots, change Dan's nappy, umpire squabbles, tell off both boys for being complete pains in the arse and not trip over every toy car in bloody existence Angry

Anyway they're eating the damn thing so I can't have done that badly.

Shop looks great Lolli that bow must have taken ages.

Blink1982 · 24/11/2014 23:19

Dp didnt get his job hes gutted, he really needs to find something because its sending him back into depression i think.

Had my work party friday so theres a blip in my slimmingworld journey this week but who cares, i need a night off now n then, who doesn't?

So i can safely say all dexters stuffs bought n ready for wrapping. I have yet to buy anything for the millions of others i have to buy for. Thinking of making those hot choc reindeer bag things ive seen on pinterest. Mums diabetic though so no good for her selfish ;-)

Just heard iggle piggle go off, hes either rolled on him or playing.....

AppleCrumples · 25/11/2014 19:45

Hi all

blink congrats on the job. Sorry dp didn't get his.

lolli love the shop.

juniper hey at least they ate it mine all turn their noses up at most of the food I serve unless its pizza Hmm

Most of the shopping done here. Their not getting a great deal but should be happy, looks like losds as there are loads of kids Grin

Ivy new shoes today. As soon as we tried to put shoes on her she stsrted yelling and waving her wellies about going 'mine'. Don't know why I bother when she will only wear her wellies!

She seems to be geting quite fearful recently. She freaked out at ds1 toy snake crying 'snake scared' and yestersay a cat came to say hi. It miowed at her and she screamed at it. Poor thing was terrified and the cat looked like it had a heart attack!

lollipoppi · 26/11/2014 17:51

Juniper that sounds like a well rescued fish pie, and at least they ate it.

I've just put cottage pie in front of DD and she looked at me like I was feeding her razor blades, followed by a screaming tantrum and throwing it on the floor Hmm she's currently eating an omelette rod for my own back

glorious · 26/11/2014 19:01

lolli I love that bow! Is Christmas a busy time for you or is it not too bad?

juniper that doesn't sound half bad really, it's a nice thing to make so I reckon you're still ahead on mum points there!

blink sorry about DP, is he really low?

E is dropping her nap Confused. But on the plus side we're off to Berlin tomorrow. Yay, Christmas markets, sausages and a ridiculous (I.e. huge and delicious) buffet breakfast.

AppleCrumples · 26/11/2014 21:20

glorious Berlin sounds good am Envy. Ivy is also trying to drop her nap, I am resisting as its my only break in the day but she only actually sleeps 2 or 3 days a week. She has also given up her sleeping bag. Our babies are growing up!

Today she has been running around with dd1 backpack on saying 'go school'. Err no Ivy a few years yet Grin

JuniperTisane · 28/11/2014 10:59

Actually Dan will be going to preschool in september. Uniform, little bag and everything Grin.

We're just looking at schools for Ds1 now. The school that the preschool is at is probably not going to be high on the list TBH so looking at other close schools means I am probably going to have a mad dash from one site to the other (15 min drive whatever school it ends up being). Is this lunacy or possible 3 days a week?

No nap-dropping here. I refuse to allow it! Going to use today's to get all the pressies out and wrap/check etc.

Mildy jealous of Berlin. The best christmas market I've been to was in Toronto. One side was full of food, not just christmas stuff but meat, veg, all sorts. The other had all sorts of christmassy/crafty stuff. -10° temps, snow, mulled wine, warm strudel and carol singers while you shop. Lovely.

AppleCrumples · 28/11/2014 19:22

Uniform?! Ivy has her name down for plaugroup at dcs school to start jan 2016. Not sure if we will take up the place though as need to pay for first term...

2 schools is probably do-able but might be a pita! Do any of the schools for ds1 have a pre-school attached you could get Dan into?

We have just done application for ds1 secondary school, doesn't seem that long ago we were doing application for primary :(

JuniperTisane · 28/11/2014 19:41

Its.just a cute polo and sweater with the logo on. The preschool is wonderful. I don't want him anywhere else, not that there is anything anywhere more practical for us anyway. They only have one intake a year in September which is why hes going then, well have to pay for 2 terms which I will suck up.

I'm disappointed the school its attached to is so poor. It really is a distant 3rd choice. Never mind.

AppleCrumples · 28/11/2014 20:55

Am I right in thinking you are somewhere rural? We are lucky enough to have a good primary on the next street and a really nice secondary also in walking distance.

Thats a shame about the school, would be much easier for you.

Took Ivy for haircut today and she actually sat still and let the hairdresser get on with it Shock was expecting a whole lot of yelling!

JuniperTisane · 28/11/2014 21:26

Deepest Kent Grin close enough to civilisation but the hamlet has no amenities bar a pub so we have to drive to everything.

Dans hair is just just just starting to tickle his collar. I think it will be some time before we ever need a cut. Mum can do that for him when the dreaded time comes.

The school situation is a pain but not the end if the world. Its 3.5 miles from us and there are two more at 1.9miles and 3.5miles going a different direction. A round trip to preschool and school ay the most would be 14 miles twice a day. Not so bad along country roads.a

Blink1982 · 28/11/2014 23:41

Talk of preschool is concerning me. I insisted he was a baby and not a toddler til he walked, now im insisting hes a baby not a toddler till he can speak in full conversation type sentances and say the alphabet backwards :-D

JuniperTisane · 29/11/2014 09:34

Grin DS1 can't say the alphabet backwards and he's a great strapping 4 year old.

AppleCrumples · 29/11/2014 14:08

juniper those journeys don't sound too bad and Dan will be going to school with ds1 before you know it!

A little unsure about playgroup, ivy would love it and is clearly busting yo join the rest at school but I am clinging on to my last baby for dear life!

Ds1 has tought her to count! She goes one, doo, whee [v.proud emoticon]

Blink1982 · 30/11/2014 00:51

We have "one doo weee" too but hes STILL a baby not a clever toddler ;)

AppleCrumples · 30/11/2014 13:40

Ah blink he is just a very clever baby Wink

Ivy causing havoc today. Has drawn on dd1 homework, ripped wall paper down and completly ruined a game of monopoly Confused

JuniperTisane · 30/11/2014 22:16

Very clever baby Blink Wink. Dan has taken to shouting ITNG characters out loud whenever he see's them. This evening it was the Ninky Nonk and Makka Pakka which comes out as NIGNOG! PAKKA! Over and over again. Blush I daren't mention Night Garden when out in public anymore Blush

Apples Don't all games of monopoly end in disaster and arguments?

AppleCrumples · 30/11/2014 22:38

ITNG has been replaced by Bing in Ivys affections. She is constantly giving people the remote and demanding bing.

The monopoly started out well but then Ivy started adding random ticket ofices, sat down in the middle of the board, removed all the money then ran off with the dice and hid (giggling) under the dining room table! Did warn dd1 that setting it up on the floor was a bit dangerous. ..

JuniperTisane · 30/11/2014 22:48

Grin The other favourites are Postman Pat (Po' Pa') and RaaRaa.

He was dancing to Swedish House Mafia standing at the top of the slide earlier. Poor DH was terrified he was going to fall. He never did though.

Blink1982 · 30/11/2014 23:55

Dexters starting to not like itng, i think its because he realises it comes on for bed time, he like bing too but gets confused n calls it pizzyou (pingu) he also likes 'door' (think hero next door, fireman sam) and chuggington. Im relieved hes not discovered thomas, thatd bore me to death, atleast chuggington has a bit of life to it.

Whats with nap dropping though the cheeky BABIES, i thought they were supposed to nap til about 3yo?!? He does sleep half 7 to 8-9 though so we r very lycky but wheres my daytime break going?!?

Anyone doing elf on a shelf?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 01/12/2014 09:16

Hi everyone! Not posted for a couple of weeks but I've been with you in spirit!

No ITNG here - it's Bob the Builder all the way. I've been showing DS pictures of the new Bob ready for when it starts next year so that it's not too much of a shock!

DS must be learning to count at nursery but he only does even numbers. I keep hearing "Tooooo.... Hore....sissss.....eight....TEN! YAY!" No idea how to get him to do the odds! Or why reaching ten warrants such excitement.

Christmas presents are starting to arrive for DS from friends are relatives. So far we have THREE toot toot drivers sets. Plus the extra track.

Off to IKEA for toy storage next week...

lollipoppi · 01/12/2014 15:27

Loving all the counting and words
Dd loves ITNG too, when it comes on she draws little circles on her hand like the baby at the start

Thanks for all the bow love, it's finished now and looks ace! It was a bitch to make, 20 meters of chicken wire, 35 meters of red fabric, and 1000 fairy lights ..... And lots of swearing Grin

Yes we're really busy at Christmas, it's started already, we have just took on another 2 florists and another driver, so there's 10 of us now in total so should be fairly organised this year I've been saying that for the last 13 years Confused

lollipoppi · 01/12/2014 16:43

Ps, comedy moment at ds1 gymnastics class this morning, one of the mums asked me this "how do you manage to keep your dd still long enough to straighten her hair" Shock
Are you kidding me? She's not even 2 and I don't even straighten my own hair Confused
