Cupcakes, ive found dexter only pushes other toddlers at boogie bods, i switched classes today and the times is earlier so hes not tired from missing his nap, i thought it could also be because there were loads of other kids there but todays group had about the same amount so im going with the tiredness amd perhaps hungry because he'd refused yet another dinner which wasnt crisps or biscuits...

We are getting dexter this garage, well dpss mum is i just wanted the normal one, so I'll compare reviews n such hopefully before she buys it!

Hope your earaches cleared off juniper, im getting over a manky headache cough ensemble.

Glorious sorry about your gran and cm issues, life really does know how to make thing shit :(

meringue33 · 26/10/2014 11:59

Sorry about your gran Glorious ThanksThanks

Hope you get some sleep soon xx

lollipoppi · 26/10/2014 21:02

Juniper hope the earache has got better, nothing worse than ears and teeth

DD is much better, the blisters went from her mouth on Thursday and she started eating again which made her much happier, she's still got some blisters on her hand and feet the the majority of them have started to dry up now

Cupcakes, my DS was a hitter, id love to be able to give you some miracle advise on how to stop it, but it appear I was pretty useless as it took my DS about a year to understand what no hitting means!

Lovely day and evening at my best friends wedding yesterday, kids stayed at parents, terrible hangover today, way too much wine and vodka, gin, jäger bombs

LetThereBeCupcakes · 27/10/2014 07:56

Birdies It's toot toot drivers all the way in the Cupcake household. DS loves the fact that he can put the road pieces together himself. He has the construction site and will be getting the Fire Station for Christmas, and the Parking Garage for his birthday. But Blink that garage looks amazing!

I've not spoken to nursery beyond a quick chat at pick up time. They keep saying it's a phase / don't worry etc, but TBH I'd be getting a bit annoyed if I was another parent at the nursery. It's not a massive nursery and he bites / pinches etc most days so the parents must be noticing. Blink he's definitely worse when he's tired. Unfortunately he's in nursery in the mornings and I pick him up just after lunch, so they can't really put him down for a nap as he'd be asleep when I need to collect him.

Glorious sorry about your gran and the childminder. It never rains, does it? I like sleep, too. I miss it.

How are you feeling today Jun?

JuniperTisane · 27/10/2014 08:47

Still deaf one side but no pain anymore, thanks for asking.

Dan seems to like the toot-toot stuff at playgroup but not enough for me to consider buying it. He still prefers trains. Lollipoppi your trains and tracks are the first thing he asks for when we get downstairs in the morning. He shouts Train! Track! and bangs on the box til I open it.

Its half term here so both boys are around today. We're going for a nice stomp in the woods with some friends in a bit, then might make some cakes or something this afternoon.

Birdies · 27/10/2014 21:32

Argh just wrote something and it's gone. Anyway, was just saying I've now got earache too, so that'll teach me for doing the pardon joke. Pardon?

What medicine did you take for it juniper? I had a temp with it as well earlier.

Glad your DD is feeling better lolli

What do you all think of the elc whizz around garage or do you think 2 is too old for that? I could get a second hand one for £12.

JuniperTisane · 27/10/2014 21:39

Too old? My 4yr old spends most of his time on it at my parents. Dan is doing his best to join in too. Its a good one.

I took sinus stuff (paracetamol, caffeine, pseudoephedrine) going on the premise that the tubes were all gunked up, causing the deaf and pressure. Didn't really work very well, had to top up with ibuprofen to dull the pain. If either of the Dses had it I would have whipped them down the docs to query infection but I never do that for me so I just drug up and carry on.

Anyway, its much better this evening, thanks for asking people. I can nearly hear normally now.

Birdies · 27/10/2014 22:37

Oh brill, I'm gonna get it then. I'd somehow missed your second link from before so didn't think it was one you'd recommended. And seeing as it's only £12 maybe I can still get them one of the others as well!

lollipoppi · 28/10/2014 07:26

Cupcakes it is more than likely just a phase, the majority of children go through it, it's just out of frustration, as long as the nursery are on top of it he will soon grow out of it

I've just picked up niece and nephew, they are staying for 2 days so were off to a pumpkin farm today then a messy afternoon carving them

LetThereBeCupcakes · 28/10/2014 07:35

Birdies we have picked up lots of DS's Christmas gifts second hand and have been thinking the same as you - perhaps we can get a bit more. But what to DO with it all?

Lolli I hope so. No bites / pinches / slaps etc yesterday but it's half term so nursery is quiet and the staff can keep a closer eye on him.

DS is finally branching away from cars! Hooray! Now he also likes Tractors, Roley from Bob the Builder, and ducks. Hmm

Birdies · 28/10/2014 12:13

Trouble is cupcakes I end up buying stuff and giving it to them early and then getting more stuff. I find it very hard to put toys away that I think they would like now!!

juniper I want a pink one of those whizz around garages now. But I've noticed that some have the traffic lights with red at the top and some have it at the bottom. Have you noticed that? I'd rather have one with red at the top so it's like actual traffic lights. They're all second hand now though, wonder why they stopped doing it.

JuniperTisane · 29/10/2014 15:48

I've never noticed Birdies but I will have a look next tuesday when I'm at mums again. I imagine the pink one was a special edition or something. I don't suppose your girls will really care if its not pink though. Get the £12 one and feel pleased you have a virtually indestructible bargain.

I've held off buying anything not on the lists so far. Got some duplo in Sainsburys which may be for christmas or birthday. Also a kitchen set thing but thats it so far. The list is nice and long though thanks to Cupcakes comprehensive list.

JuniperTisane · 29/10/2014 15:54

Next to look for is a balance bike for a reasonable price.

glorious · 29/10/2014 18:41

Thanks all. We're doing ok.

juniper I was wondering about a balance bike so let me know what you find.

Birdies · 29/10/2014 21:28

Glad you're ok glorious

juniper I paid an extra fiver for a pink one off ebay, couldn't help it! I hope my DDs like it. We already have those elc magnetic cars so they should go perfectly with it.

I need to look back at cupcakes list and see what else I need!

JuniperTisane · 31/10/2014 09:06

Grin Birdies Its still cheaper than a new one!

Glorious I was looking at either something like this metal framed one

or this Kettler one

or Stompees (not hot pink though, although E probably would like it)

I would prefer the price of the first, but the quality of the second or third.

MsBug · 02/11/2014 22:33

We're also thinking of a balance bike for dd for Xmas.

Had a busy day today, took DD to the natural history museum as we were up visiting friends in London. She absolutely loved the dinosaurs. She was also very excited by the tube aka the choo choo train. Halloween Grin

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/11/2014 07:21

Oh! I thought I'd posted a couple of days ago but it must not have worked.

My list has changed quite a bit now, largely due to finding bits and pieces second hand / on offer so I've altered what we're getting a bit. Nearly got all of my Christmas presents now - should hopefully get the last bits and pieces this month. We have a trip to the big discount toy shop near my SILs next week, and I've got an Amazon voucher coming (bonus from work).

We took DS to Toys R Us yesterday to see what he thought of the balance bikes. He looked at DH and I like we were crazy! Think we'll be giving that a miss for a bit. They had the new Toot Toot Drivers set in there - I REALLY want it but it's massive, we'd never have space for it.

Bob the Builder love is interferring with my Strictly time now. Not impressed.

lollipoppi · 04/11/2014 17:45

I've bought 1 Christmas present so far, I swore I would be more organised this year!

I bought ds1 some 2nd hand bday presents this year, a batcave and a dragon cave, MIL was horrified that I had bought 2nd hand, and brings it up every time we speak just wait for Christmas MIL I can just picture her cats bum face GrinGrin

JuniperTisane · 06/11/2014 11:49

I've just twitched and bought some RaaRaa PJs and a RaaRaa toy car thing. They may have to be shoved in the stocking. Dan is pretty much done now, barring actually buying the bike.

Quite a few of our toys come from a second hand toy shop near my mum. We do a swap there every so often with the old unused toys.

Chilly today. Logburner's going nicely.

meringue33 · 06/11/2014 12:12

Hi everyone, sorry we have been MIA for a while. It is lovely to be able to dip in and hear how everyone is doing.

Bunty haven't heard from you for a while how are you doing? Getting any sleep?

We have some exciting news to share with you - baby no.2 is on the way! Due 8th May x

Birdies · 06/11/2014 12:14

We've now got the pink garage. Gave it to them early and they love it. I am really struggling with not giving them stuff early.

Aw mrsbug I would love to take my DDs to the natural history museum but it's too far away for us now. I used to absolutely love going there when I lived in London. Glad you had a nice time.

cupcakes there's a toot toot set on offer at Amazon. This one www.amazon.co.uk/VTech-Toot-Toot-Drivers-Train-Station/dp/B00DCP4IXK/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t#productDetails. My MIL wants pressie ideas so even though we could really do without more massive toys it does look good. So you'd definitely recommend them?

I think I'm getting X a raa raa rucksack juniper, she loves him too.

Not sure about balance bikes - never seen one in use but they look a bit weird?!

Does anyone else have a ridiculous number of toys? I've started selling stuff to make way for Christmas and birthday toys. My DD's are into similar things as well so we have 3 lots of new pressies now over Christmas and X's birthday. It's nice but it's getting a bit like a toy shop here (esp when I give them things early!).

JuniperTisane · 06/11/2014 12:44

The toy mountain here is much smaller than it was, I got rid of sacks of the stuff a few weeks ago and it feels cleaner and nicer again for another couple of months anyway.

Congratulations Meringue! How exciting for you.

Birdies · 06/11/2014 13:13

Ooh congrats meringue, very exciting!

Tugstonia · 06/11/2014 13:13

Congratulations meringue! Wonderful news Flowers. How are you feeling?

I've got my 20 week scan next week when I'll be 21 weeks. It's flying by! Can't wait to start mat leave.

Blimey you lot are organised with your Xmas pressie buying! I need to get my act together. I want to get a toy kitchen for DD because she makes a beeline for the kitchens at playgroups/childminder's. Haven't done any research yet though.

Was thinking the other day haven't seen bunty or fourlegs for a while. Hope you're both ok. :)
