There was amazing looking cheesecake. Might have to buy some another day! We use reusables.

JuniperTisane · 18/10/2014 07:23

The cheesecake did look mighty fine. Never mind. I know where it is now.

Disposables here. Been trialing the Pampers ones but I don't think much of them.

glorious · 18/10/2014 12:18

Ooh just saw this re: Chinese custom of pre wedding photos m.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-29444010
Can't remember which of you I was telling about this when the couple turned up by Tower Bridge, but the article coincidentally appeared on my Facebook today.

Tugstonia · 18/10/2014 18:52

It was me! Can see the appeal of a London scenic backdrop but the whole pre-wedding photos thing still sounds a bit odd to me.

Lovely to see you glorious and Juniper and the little'uns! I wish I'd got some cake! Hope you all got home ok.

We had a lovely 4.45am wake up with DD this morning and then spent a good few hours in traffic trying to get to our friends' place for lunch, resulting in monumental row between DP and me. Was fine once we finally arrived but sleep deprivation induced rage probably not the best idea. Saw midwife first thing this morning who kept going on about me "needing rest". I wish!

Anyway hope everyone's well and having a nice weekend :)

Blink1982 · 18/10/2014 21:13

Those photos do look great i agree thoughphotos before are a bit weird.

Okso im gonna retry reuseables at night, the pockets i (used to) use all leaked at night, so we ended up using aldi n pampers all day n night, but im determind to get it right so i got twolittle lamb bamboo nappies and a blueberry wrap. Im hoping to god it keeps all his wee in. I was going to try totsbots stretchy ones but je weighs 34.6lb so thought thebiggest ll was a better idea. I WILL suceed!!

glorious · 19/10/2014 09:24

Ooh good luck! I've heard good things about charcol boosters if you need a bit more. E isn't a heavy wetter so we don't have too much trouble.

JuniperTisane · 19/10/2014 16:49

DH is worrying me. He pointed out a highchair he liked the look of at the local soft play today. And the other day he texted me he had seen an Oyster Max pushchair and how cool is that? I asked him if he was a little bit broody and he said maybe.

We have two children, thats enough. He's on the waiting list for GA vasectomy FGS! I do not need this now.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 19/10/2014 20:20

Uh-oh Jun! Presumably if he's on the waiting list for a vasectomy you've already decided not to have more, any idea why he's changed his mind.

Funnily enough I worked up the courage to broach the subject of a DC2 with DH today. I've been putting it off as the last 20 months have been pure hell hard work and I couldn't imagine DH agreeing to go through it all again. His response was "yeah, I thought we always planned at least 2?" Hmm. I guess the last 20 months haven't been quite so hard on DH! Now just to figure out how to make the box room work as a nursery...

DS has a chest infection again. Seems OK in himself but has an awful cough, bless him. Getting him to take the medicine is NOT easy.

JuniperTisane · 19/10/2014 20:54

Poor DS. This time of year is awful for chests. Hope he's better soon.

Uh-oh is bloody right. Bollixed up vasectomy attempt aside Hmm. Two is fine. Everything fits. Three would just explode everything. We'd need a bigger car, bigger house, I would have to put any of my plans on hold, we don't have a good enough income. Just NO.

When I pushed him he said its because Danny is growing up. He's quite independent now and doesn't need Daddy to help him every step of the way. He sees another little toddler (and perhaps a girl) but seems to have forgotten the year of hell each time we've had a baby. I'm not very good at babies.

Dan sleeps in the box room. We had to swap the door so it opens outwards into the hall. Cotbed can only go in one position, under the window, so the radiator is gone and we took the curtains away to stop any chance of swinging toddlers. His room is 4ft7 x 7ft.

MsBug · 19/10/2014 22:25

Uh oh juniper. I suggest you borrow a friend's newborn to remind your dh of what it's really like.

We are talking about TTC again in the new year fools. I am a bit broody but mostly I want dd to have siblings. Juniper you can go to the top of my list of babysitters if you like? Wink

AppleCrumples · 19/10/2014 22:43

Could be worse juniper dp went all funny over a newborn outside school last week...we are busting out of this house. I kicked him :) (dp not tge baby she was cute)

cupcakes i have tested out your method for getting tantrumming toddkers into pushchair.. Absolute genius :)

Glad meet up went well, bit jealous.

Ivy has taken aganst local ducks. We wentvto feed them last week but she refused to be put down..which turned out to be wise after a goose took a shine to my bag of breaf and started stalking us. I swear it had a mad glint in its eye...

LetThereBeCupcakes · 20/10/2014 09:35

Jun perhaps just gently remind him that a DC3 would ALSO grow up? Perhaps if he is so into babies he could retrain as a nursery nurse Grin. I'm not very good at babies either. My SIL and her husband are going through the process of adopting right now, and are applying for a sibling group aged 4-7. Bloody good idea IMO.

Bug We're looking at TTC in the new year too, we can hold each others hands!

Apple sensible girl. We had geese when I was a child. Vicious buggers they are!

glorious · 20/10/2014 11:35

Ooh I want another but DH far from convinced. Even I can see that I probably don't want to go to Glastonbury with a toddler and pregnant so I think waiting til the summer at least is a good plan!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 22/10/2014 07:49

glorious how is your husband doing? I wouldn't even contemplate Glastonbury with a toddler never mind pregnant, so yes, definitely wait a bit!

DS has ramped up his biting / scratching / pinching at nursery. I'm at a complete loss for what to do now, I've tought him what gently means, and when we're out with friends I just remind him and he's fine. I'm starting to think it's an issue at nursery but no idea how to broach the subject with them. We have parent's evening the week after next so I need to come up with something to say to them by then. Any ideas?

lollipoppi · 22/10/2014 12:32

Hi all!

Defo No more babies here, well not for a long while, ask me again in a year, it's a maybe Grin

DD has got hand foot and mouth and she is utterly miserable, she's not sleeping or eating and drinking very little, the spots on her hands and feet seem to be really bothering her.

glorious · 23/10/2014 04:54

He's much the same cupcakes , thanks for asking.

Shit week here. My much loved grandma died on Monday and today our lovely childminder gave notice. It's nearly 5am now and Ellen went down at 830 then woke 1030, 1130, 130 and has been up since. I've had a headache all day and I just want to walk out and get some sleep Sad I like sleep.

lollipoppi · 23/10/2014 08:27

So sorry to hear about your grandma glorious ??
Hopefully Ellen will have a good sleep today and you can get some rest?

MsBug · 23/10/2014 10:57

Sorry to hear about your grandma glorious.

Here's hoping you get a better sleep tonight

Tugstonia · 23/10/2014 14:31

Oh Glorious, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma :( Did you see her last weekend while your mum was up? So sad. Flowers for you.

Also sorry about your childminder, how come she's giving notice? Fingers crossed for better sleep tonight.

JuniperTisane · 25/10/2014 09:20

Glorious Sad about your Grandma. And bad luck about the childminder.

Lolli hows the hand foot and mouth progressing? Better I hope.

Anyone want my earache this fine morning? Dosed up to the nines and its still there.

Birdies · 25/10/2014 11:35

Sorry to hear about your grandma glorious.

Hope everyone else is going ok. salt have you moved now? I think you said you were moving nearer to your family?

lolli how is your DD?

No idea what to do re the biting cupcakes but I'd have thought nursery should be really used to that kind of thing, have you spoken to them yet?

Poor ivy being scared of ducks apple!!

We've just got back from our Tumble tots second trial but I'm not sure if it's the right class for her. She seems to like one section best and wants to keep going on that rather than do the circuits with everyone else. Maybe something like Toddlersense would be better, does anyone else do that?

We have more words and proper counting now so I'm not worrying about that anymore, phew. Have moved on to worrying about her lip instead (the one she bit through the other week) as it's heeled but is just a hard lump and is really pale in colour when she smiles. I know it's just cosmetic but I feel a bit sad to think that she may be left with a nasty scar :( And I feel it's my fault for not being in the room when it happened.

Can anyone recommend a good toy car garage for Christmas? I mean something like the toot toot drivers range or maybe a wooden one like an elc garage? Def want something with at least one ramp. Both my DD's are into cars at the mo but there is so much to choose from. Thanks!

Ps juniper you can have another baby for me if you like, I'd love a third but am scared of going through the end bit again!

Birdies · 25/10/2014 11:36

And hope earache gets better soon juniper, I missed at bit!

JuniperTisane · 25/10/2014 11:45

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

I can answer the garage one having two vehicle-mad boys.

We have a variation on this wooden garage (they bring a different style out every year) and it gets played with lots.

Mum has this one which is pretty constantly played with at her house.

The winner though is very similar to this spiral ramp ours isn't ELC but does the same thing. They race cars, trains, lego, dried pasta, small balls, anything vaguely circular shaped Confused over and over and over again.

Ear is kept at bay with massive doses of painkillers. I can't hear very well and my voice has been gone for the last 3 days. Its just a bastard head cold which blocked all the tubes up but I'm getting a bit fed up now.

Birdies · 25/10/2014 13:06

Brill thanks, will enjoy looking at the links!

Ps pardon?

Sorry, am sympathetic really!!

JuniperTisane · 25/10/2014 22:31

Mutton Jeff, you say? DONT KNOW ANYONE CALLED JEFF!
