Dont be scared :-D its more homage to blink 182 than the dr who episode :-D

JuniperTisane · 08/10/2014 23:23

Grin. People don't read do they? I've added the Ninky Nonk to Dans list. He goes round saying ninknonkninknonk over and over.

Re stairgates, we just fit a bog standard push fit one to the hall side of the architrave. Door shuts on the inner side so they didn't interfere with each other.

Have you lost 5 stone Blink? (I hear shouty american rock bands now). Thats amazing. I put on about 3 stone in pregnancy and lost it breastfeeding and eating cake. Its creeping back on and I'm now back at pre-pregnancy weight, more or less. I have to ration the cake now. Boo.

Dan spends the whole time at the local tumble time thing on the bouncy castle or throwing himself off the climbing frame.

Blink1982 · 08/10/2014 23:25

No, but im on the way, ive lost 2 and a half, dead chuffed with myself

JuniperTisane · 08/10/2014 23:32

Brilliant. You should be chuffed.

glorious · 09/10/2014 13:35

Hello all, I've been AWOL sorry. E seems to be throwing up every time she has dairy, which pretty much ruined our holiday in Italy Sad. Otherwise we're ok.

juniper , tugs are you ok for next week? I need to stay in during the morning for a visit from the council pest control (sigh) so may need to join you later than planned, or may be ok depending on when they arrive.

MsBug · 09/10/2014 18:15

Well done on the weight loss blink.

I also lost weight through breastfeeding and walking a lot on maternity leave. Aibu to consider having another baby as a weight loss plan Wink ?

JuniperTisane · 10/10/2014 09:05

Glorious My day is intentionally clear once DS1 goes off with MIL at 10am so I can probably fit around whatever is easiest for you and Tugs. Latest train home I can catch is 16.02 if that helps.

Tugstonia · 13/10/2014 10:59

Morning all

Have been AWOL as well. How is everyone?

Juniper and Glorious DD and I are still on for Friday. Can get a train that arrives at Charing Cross at about 11.20, is that ok for you? Glorious sorry to hear you have to get the pest control in, hope you can get it sorted. Also sorry E was sick on your hols. How rubbish.

Well done on your weight loss Blink that's brilliant. I had lost a fair bit of weight (I put on a LOT during my pregnancy with DD though), just by calorie counting using MyFitnessPal. It was all going well until I got pregnant again, and am now stacking it back on again. Sigh. Determined not to put on as much this time...

Has anyone moved their LO to a bed yet? We are considering it because DD's sleep is so bad and she point blank refuses to go in her cot. I figure if we get her a 'big girl's bed' she might be more inclined to sleep in it. Should I bother with a toddler bed or go straight for a single?

JuniperTisane · 13/10/2014 16:07

Hey Tugs. Is the time coincidence or is there a possibility we might be getting the same train?

Tugstonia · 13/10/2014 16:47

I think it's a coincidence because I get on at the start, unless you're coming from Hayes?!

JuniperTisane · 13/10/2014 19:34

No, Ashford. Must just arrive together.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 14/10/2014 07:43

Tugs DS is in a cot bed and still has the sides on. DH and I can't decide whether or not to take the sides off - we know DS can climb out, but he never actually does it at night. We have the same problem at bed time - he often wants me to sit in his cot with him whilst he falls asleep, which would be SO much easier if he was in a bed!

MsBug YANBU. The same thought has crossed my mind!

Glorious have you tried cutting out dairy to see what happens? This is what my GP said to do. We were told to give it three weeks (apparently it takes 2-3 weeks for dairy to leave the system completely) and see if it helped (which it did). We were then referred to a dietician who talked through what things to try re-introducing and when, as well as giving us some recipes to use. She was brilliant. If E is actually sick I wonder if it might be an allergy rather than intollerance though? I'd make an appointment with your GP I think.

Jun I had to google Ninky Nonk Blush. DS isn't really interested in CBeebies, but if he hears the theme the Strictly Come Dancing he squeals "Tess! Tess!" and settles down to watch. Grin

DH was out with the dogs all day Sunday so I took DS to my Mum's for the day. He threw a MASSIVE tantrum, threw himself on the floor kicking and screaming... and promptly fell asleep. Hmm Grin. We left him there. He slept for three hours!

Finally managed to track down some pyjamas with feet for DS (he loves them. The last lot we got second hand). Ordered them from Le Redoute - they're doing 15 off your first order if you spend 30 or more, plus free delivery, so we got three pairs of nice PJs for 15.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 14/10/2014 07:43

Why doesn't MN recognise pound signs?

MsBug · 14/10/2014 08:38

Cupcakes why don't you take the sides off and trial it for a few nights? You could always put them back on,couldn't you?

Yesterday dd's grandparents gave her chocolate and today at breakfast she pushed away her cereal and demanded 'choc-lat' Confused

LetThereBeCupcakes · 14/10/2014 09:40

bug because I know what would happen. DH would take the sides off, and then we'd decide we need them back on, but he wouldn't get 'round to it, and it'd be weeks before he finally did it, but which time I'll have had a nervous breakdown!

JuniperTisane · 14/10/2014 11:28

I think if and when you take the side off that needs to be that. You can't go back. So gate on the door, bedguard to stop accidental falling out for a few weeks, old duvet on the floor to cushion any falls and go for it.

I know a lot of people would go straight for a single but I'm inclined to say toddler bed because they are generally a bit lower and for a sub-2 year old that could be important. DS1 had a cotbed (as a bed) til just before his 4th birthday then went to a single. A toddler bed is usually a bit longer so they can last til 5 or 6 if necessary. His single bed looks enormous in comparison.

MsBug · 14/10/2014 11:38

fair enough, hmm, your DH sounds a lot like mine...

glorious · 14/10/2014 18:26

Grr, wrote a nice long post then phone crashed.

cupcakes she's ok with dairy again now, I think it happens quite often when they're a bit unwell in some way. We did try eliminating it for 6 weeks a while back though and it made no difference.

juniper and tugs I'm not sure what time I can make it as the council won't give me a specific slot but you two should meet whenever suits and I'll give you a call when I'm able to come and then I can meet you wherever you are.

AppleCrumples · 14/10/2014 19:32

Dd1 was in her toddler bed til this summer (when she turned 6 Blush ) Its now just waiting for Ivy.

We have a new word here 'mine' Ivy uses it for everything she comes across Hmm

Ds1 had his birthday sleepover at the weekend. Thet were up all nght (I know because I coukd still hear them at 4.30 am) He had a great time but I find it all really stressful!

glorious · 17/10/2014 08:33

Yay, meet up day!

JuniperTisane · 17/10/2014 08:40

Grin One train or another I will be there by 11.30. (hoping for 11.22). Any sign of your pest man yet?

meringue33 · 17/10/2014 17:00

Hope you've all enjoyed your meetup! Jealous Grin

Don't take the sides off!!! We did that a few months ago, now regret. A little person appears every night between midnight and 4am, clutching a soft toy and wanting in with us.

If we keep his door closed so he can't escape we just hear a 'bang bang bang' down the corridor Grin

JuniperTisane · 17/10/2014 21:12

We had a lovely time! (Apart from Dan scuppering the cake plan by waking up and screaming in the pushchair Hmm). Really nice to meet up again.

Urrgh. DS1 is the little person who appears in bed. This morning I awoke at 5.40am with him there and DH having escaped to DS1's bed. Lucky sod.

glorious · 17/10/2014 22:36

Yes, lovely to see you both and our scarily grown up toddlers. All three of them conspired against the cake in their own ways! I have had my revenge by eating a secret caramel wafer

Blink1982 · 18/10/2014 00:14

Do any of you still use reuseable nappies?

The cake issue is probably a blessing in disguise, unless it was cheesecake, id of bought it and transported it home
