Nah not testing again. Unless it's not here by Monday. Can't bear another negative. Just think it's bad PMS x

Pikz · 05/06/2014 17:39

Yay for 20 week scans and boo to back to consultant.

PurplePidjin · 05/06/2014 17:46

Brew Eliza, sounds like a nightmare. Hope you don't have to wait too long!

R spent the afternoon in training pants as I had a couple of pairs kicking around that were in a random nappy bundle I picked up. We went to the local shopping centre. He refused the loo once, and accepted twice while out. Still hasn't done anything on the toilet, but no accidents either. Accepted a toilet trip when we got home, nothing. Pooed in his pull ups (and was telling me it was happening while he did it) around 4:30 so i sat him on the potty to get cleaned up. So we're still getting there. Nappy rash patch is looking loads better which is the main thing.

I bought 5 pairs of superhero pants in Next for £8. Then reufused to pay £16.95 for 7 fairly boring days of the week pairs in Gap. Then found lots of fun ones in H+M 3 for £5.99, and bought a pack of 7 Paul Frank monkey ones for £7.99. Then discovered plain ones in M+S 5 for £4 so bought them and took the expensive Next ones back boo they were awesome I was amazed at the range, I thought finding pants in small sizes would be tough going as most dc seem to train at 2.5-3 ish. But actually, i went in 4 shops and my Mum checked in Sainsburys - all 4 shops had something I could have bought, just Sainsburys that had nothing under age 3-4. I'm impressed!

YellowWellies · 05/06/2014 18:09

Pidj I guess that's because not all kids wear the same age clothes as their actual age - given J has only just got into 12-18 months vests - he'd likely need smaller pants when the time comes. Also some cultures do toilet train earlier. The Chinese tend to. In Hong Kong all babies are toilet trained by 12 months. God knows how! Shock

BigPigLittlePig · 05/06/2014 18:12

12 months?! Shock Shock Shock

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2014 18:12

Yes, and as it isn't unheard of to potty train at 18 months, I wouldn't have thought you would encounter too many problems finding pants to fit. YW, O is a skinny bean so I imagine he will also be in smallish pants when the time comes.

ChasingDaisy · 05/06/2014 18:13

O descends from HK - he obviously didn't get the memo Wink

ValiumQueen · 05/06/2014 18:22

Sorry Eliza and Digger x

ValiumQueen · 05/06/2014 18:23

And yay for good scan (still not trusting emoticons)

Pikz · 05/06/2014 18:35

Chasing don't worry I think L will be about 4! He likes weeing and then saying jump jump in the puddle when his nappies off!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2014 19:12

Great news re scan yw half way there already :)

Kyz · 05/06/2014 20:57

Evening everyone :) Been quite warm here, E has been running rings around me all day, he's not eaten loads but we've had worse days so it's okay :) Besides tomorrow is a fresh one, and it will be good, it will.

eliza i'm really sorry to hear you've been referred back to the consultant, hope it's all sorted soon :)

yaaay for sleeping stunt how fab is that!!

hiiii izzy glad you had a nice time!

aw zamboni i bet she'll love that!

big hugs digger you've had lots of fab advice and I haven't much to add but I do hope you know you can talk to us here or on the facebook group whenever you need to, and I would definitely talk to your GP. Have some more hugs xx

woohoo yw halfway, fab!! :D

Sounds like R is doing well pp :)

12 months is madness as far as potty training goes. I've got a while as far as E goes, certainly. This morning I was just tidying away breakfast pots and I heard VEEVEEE, veevee, VEEVEE coming from the bathroom (it's downstairs, I hadn't left him upstairs alone) and I thought no, he can't be trying to do a wee in the toilet, a little shocked. Got in there to find him dropping raisins in the toilet, one by one, Veevee, veevee, veevee. So no, no toilet training here!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2014 21:24

pidj if the GP referred to the rash as an ulcer I assume it is quite advanced and at risk of infection. I know it's been mentioned before, and if you have changed your mind and have missed it I apologise, but can you consider switching him to disposables at least overnight? And maybe for long trips out ie in the car.

YellowWellies · 05/06/2014 21:38

I wonder if he was sore when he weed on the ulcered bit? You said he didn't like the wet feeling hence maybe that's why he's so quick to tell you? Smart cookie either way and fingers crossed it heals with more nappy free time. One of the things I expected a lot of was nappy rash but he's never had it really other than that one weekend he got 4 teeth. Our Mums generation seemed obsessed by it - maybe it was the old nappies?

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2014 21:43

Disposables are a godsend to our generation re nappy rash.

There are lots of babies who still get it and need to switch brand but it is no longer a given.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2014 23:07

Well. I have sad news. I have spent the evening sorting out my freezers. Need to make space for a meat order coming in (long story).

My half a cock, that I so generously offered only yesterday, is being binned. I could make cock stock but that would also take up freezer space.

Also headed for the bin is masses of fruit that either I picked or neighbours gave me as a surplus.

This weekend we will be eating all the meat I can defrost. But the cock can cock off.

itsnotyouitsMeals · 05/06/2014 23:45

Yay for good scan yw. Hugs to digger eliza and vq. Hello and sorry if I've missed anyone to everyone else. Prefer to write on FB as I find it easier but as a long term cloth nappy user just wanted to correct the idea that they cause nappy rash. Neither of my girls have had any issues and DD1 was in them right up until potty training.

Right, I'll see you all on FB. Love to all.

itsnotyouitsMeals · 05/06/2014 23:48

PS Sorry about your cock pr

itsnotyouitsMeals · 05/06/2014 23:49

Though I am a vegetarian, so perhaps I should have been sorry for your cock.

Ahem. Moving on.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/06/2014 23:54

Trust me he had a good life. Am v careful about my meat meals :)

itsnotyouitsMeals · 06/06/2014 00:24

Good stuff pr. Grin TBH am veggie for environmental reasons; sod the bloody animals (JOKE).

Lack of sleep making me hysterical. Must.Go.To.Bed. Hope you sleep pr

Wandathewindfairy · 06/06/2014 05:56

It's off to the gp for me.

Awful

More glands

Can't swallow

StuntNun · 06/06/2014 06:23

Tonsillitis perhaps Wanda? I hope you feel better soon. I always gargle with Oraldene when I have a sore throat.

I don't like to see a good cock going to waste PR. Shame it wasn't a great cock. Grin

DS1 has been dispatched to Scotland on his school trip so it'll be nice and peaceful here his morning with just me, DS2 and J. DH is due back from China at 9 but he flew there on Wednesday, went to his meeting then was straight back to the airport to fly home Angry so he'll be knackered. J is going to the CM for an extra day today so hopefully I'll be able to get some decent cleaning up done as the house is frankly appalling.

J almost slept through again apart from a slight peep at 3 a.m. in his last night in his cot Sad. Operation big boy bed starts tonight. I was thinking about leaving him in his sleeping bag so that he's less likely to get out of bed and crash potter around in his room.

After seeing DS1 off at 5:45 a.m. I'm waiting for J to wake up Shock so I really must take myself off for a shower.

Hope the GP is kind Wanda xxx

I think washables are fab, and do not automatically result in nappy rash. I would have used them for J had it not been for his tummy issues. However once the rash appears the first line of recommended treatment is to swap to a sposie as they keep the area dryer, less exposure to the urine, better for healing etc, plus you can use various creams that you can't with a washable. The fact it is ulcerated shows that washables are not working. It would be awfully messy and unhelpful to have him nappy free overnight, during naps and in the car, so PRs advice of sposies on those occasions is pretty non-negotiable. That would be the best thing for R so the environment needs to take second place. Also they are not expensive. As I have said the Tesco value pull-ups are great, and great value.

ValiumQueen · 06/06/2014 06:49

And sorry for the cock PR. I am rather fond of cocks.
