I was trying to make the Southerners feel better Pass Grin We clearly have similar taste. Would you like to buy my house? No? I thought not Grin

Kyz · 11/06/2014 22:32

Evening :) have spent two hours grooming the dogs. Short haired next time, short haired, remind me of this in the years to come when I want something fluffy. Is a bad idea to go with fluffy!

E's toy have-ee came today, and he keeps it with the big have-ee and gets it out when I have-ee. Cracks me up, tis very sweet :)

Well done to r pp :)

fruit it's madness isn't it when you start to keep an eye on things! have been trying to get shopping down here too! was £70 this week but did include cleaning stuff and the meat for half of next week also. Plus dp wants enchiladas on Sunday and they can be pricey. I am aiming for £50 per week for shopping not including pet food. I need to get our finances sorted if we want another mini person (and I do, muchly)

pr I'd be a bit narked too, surely it should have labels on telling you what is what??

wanda when I grow up I want to be just like you! You're so organised and luffly. What time do the boys go to bed out of interest? We eat at 4:30 ish because of e going to bed at 7 and drinking his milk. I am thinking of doing tea a little later, as he sleeps 1-3 so there is no afternoon to speak of, but I'm not sure what to do for the best if anything. I may also swap the bottle for a cup of milk. A sippy cup that is. But it doesn't hold the 8oz his bottle does. Oh I don't know, food for thought anyway

Lol gt I think it's common for swear words to slip out sometimes. I am surprised e doesn't swear given my potty mouth, I am terrible despite curbing my swearing

Lol bp e is very liberal with the treats too! the dogs loooove him! funnily enough

Ouch wanda sounds sore!!

That house is lovely

YellowWellies · 11/06/2014 22:33

I was going to say offers over is dead.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 11/06/2014 22:42

Had urogyn appt today. 12 week wait for surgery. :(

PetiteRaleuse · 11/06/2014 22:48

izzy that's a long wait, sorry to hear that. Are they confident that this surgery will fix it?

GTbaby · 11/06/2014 23:52

Oh izzy that is quite a wait. But at least you know a time frame now.

Fh just got back from work. Feeling very annoyed at these late shifts. I never get to see him. And I stay up to chill with him. Which results in a very tiered grumpy me.

He has said it a lot this evening. Really hoping he forgets over night.
Although I doubt it. He said it as soon as I walked into his room in the morning. So has been learning it rather then just a sudden repetition iykwim.

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 06:17

GT when he says it try to change it to another word, keeping it consistent, something that sounds similar like duck:

H: Fuck
GT: Duck? Duck goes quack quack quack, with a big smile on your face. It will change in no time I am sure. So long as you stop saying fuck too Grin

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 06:19

Izzy sorry it is a long wait Sad

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 06:20
PetiteRaleuse · 12/06/2014 06:42

It was sad vq

Lily311 · 12/06/2014 07:05

Morning Quiche,

I'm totally disconnected from the thread, our uk visit is just so busy. Nearly over though, only the weekend left. I still read though when I have a spare moment.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/06/2014 08:17

Glad you are having a good time Lily

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/06/2014 08:40

The surgery she has suggested seems a good idea. Without going into too much detail it's a more permanent fox rather than just a hysterectomy which she agrees would leave me prone to other problems. She would not recommend I have that operation. Instead she has offered a few alternatives, some with mesh and some without. Also different ways of doing each op. It looks like open surgery with mesh and a subtotal hysterectomy is best option due to risks, benefits, successful rates and mesh erosion stats. The wait is problematic tho as I'll run out of sick pay and work aren't happy obviously as I've been off 6 months already.

GTbaby · 12/06/2014 08:57

Thanks Vq. I'll do that sentence.

Lil shit isn't having breakfast again. I know he isn't very well ATM but it's driving me crazy.
I'm trying to focus on his liquid intake as other day his nappy wasn't very full. Was better yesterday with water offered several times and beaker left in easy reach, so hoping that's one less worry.

Wandathewindfairy · 12/06/2014 09:03

pp most of the more focused stuff I do will be more geared toward Ds1 having said that there was stuff that I did with him when he was this age that I haven't really done so I will try to incorporate those.

Like..... Baking, if you measure everything out first and get it ready then they can do the stirring, though I may get ds1 to do the measuring.

Yesterday at family group we go a mix of rice and lentils and dried pasta, some spoons, and jugs and bowls and they just played with it, I should do that at home they loved it. Shredded paper same.

Beach, bare feet, big stick mark making in the sand.

Just some one on one time messing with jigsaws, reading, singing, you prob think that is shit as you do that as a matter of course but I find it difficult to have that focused time.

Weeding! You are never to young.......

With DS1 I am trying to do some more focused reading, I know they teach by phonics but I think, having watched the girls, that they all learn in different ways and they need a mixture of techniques. So I do some phonics stuff with him, i am trying to get him to learn some basic word recognition (like mum and dad) and I am also trying to teach him to work it out using all of these things and looking at the picture, using what he knows of phonics iyswim. I don't do this for hours, just maybe 15 mins here and 20 mins there but at least once a day.

At the moment, Ds1 is nicely laying with Lego and O is having some kind of meltdown curled around the chair legs about something. Perhaps he wants to play with the Lego.

Today is the great Lidle adventure! I have my meal plan and my list! Smile

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 09:28

Have fun in Lidl Wanda. Hope they have what you need. I prefer Aldi I must admit.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/06/2014 10:01

I prefer Lidl. I have never got to grips with Aldi. Maybe yours are different though.

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 10:56

Probably PR. I think all the stores vary here too. There is a Lidl near where I work and it is awesome, but the one near where I live is shite.

Today I am thankful for antidepressants, sleep, omeprazole, the budgeting app, and the client I have just seen who has reminded me just how much I love my job Smile

Wandathewindfairy · 12/06/2014 11:07

No Aldi in NI unfortunately so I have no choice.

I just did a reasonably regular food plan just to see the impact, and got most of what I needed actually for £66 I just need to pop to Asda this afternoon for a few extra bits so we will see what they come too. The fruit and veg were brilliant, I go everything except a watermelon and jacket spud. I was surprised to find an aubergine and a butternut squash.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/06/2014 11:59

My dog rocks. Someone knocked at the door and I assumed it was the postman, as it's about her time to deliver. Went to the door and it was a very intimidating bloke who wanted to wash the front of my house. I said no thanks and he got quite insistent, at which point my dog, realising he was missing something interetsing, came bouncing in from the back garden and I only just grabbed his collar before he jumped on the bloke.

Now, the bloke was terrified - he wasn't to know that my dog was going to slobber on him and hump his leg. He's a big dog so quite scary I guess Hmm Anyway the bloke skedaddled and I was able to slip into LO's room and note down his reg plate (plain white van) through her shutters which were half open so couldn't be seen.

I have an uncomfortable feeling that if my dog hadn't been there I might have had some trouble getting rid of the bloke.

PurplePidjin · 12/06/2014 12:23

Thanks Wanda I tried that with pasta yesterday and he just ate it Hmm but I should definitely do more baking! I picked up the first 3 ladybird learn to read books and they're on his favourite bedtime story list, might have a hunt for some phonics ones too as reading seems to be the current favourite activity - if I'm doing jobs he snuggles up on the sofa with dolly and a pile of books and babbles while turning pages!

Poo in pants on way to the loo, and an ask while walking to music class that turned into a wee in the car park! So more Mummy Fails this morning

Donnadoon · 12/06/2014 13:21

PR My big dog is also a softie but the postman doesnt think so because of the way he barks at the door Blush. I wouldnt be without him, he makes me feel so safe at home alone all day with the kids.

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 13:39

I thought you were going to stay near home PP so he could train and you could be on pox watch? I would not be doing that with a 3yo that was training. I think you are asking too much of him and yourself. Be careful it doesn't become an issue for him which is what could happen if he continues to have 'accidents'.

ValiumQueen · 12/06/2014 13:42

J hits his head then repeats if to see if it still hurts. They are not overly bright at this age. That said my brother was clean and dry day and night by now.

Zamboni · 12/06/2014 13:55

Glad you had your dog with you PR. I wouldnt have liked that.

Nice to see sleep on your list VQ. The Scottish house buying process is very different.

Lily glad you are having a good time.

Sorry you have a long wait izzy.

GT we have similar problems Blush It gets worse when they get older and do it in context. Must. Stop. Swearing.

Wanda, we switched to Aldi after S was born. I used to swear by online shopping - I had a three week rotating menu plan and spent an hour every three weeks booking in the next three deliveries. But we were spending around what fruit does now as a minimum and couldnt afford it. We're now total Aldi converts, the slowness of getting through a til on my rare forays into Sainsburys drives me demented. DH either shops if he finishes earlier than me on one of the days we both work, or I can do a full shop in 20 minutes at 8am on a Monday morning when its v quiet. I love their products, their fruit and veg is excellent. We have significantly reduced our shopping bill.

On the subject of finances, my fixed mortgage rate expires in a few months. Had a quick review with my current bank before going to my broker. I will fail the new affordability criteria. Standard high street bank, so will in all likelihood fail across the board. Sad This is despite rates available being lower, thus lowering my payments. I wasn't entirely unprepared for this - I suspected my shocking childcare bill would affect things but basically my bank says I cannot afford my life. Awesome. I'm not entirely without options so it's not a disaster, but fuck me it was sobering to realise how precariously my finances are viewed by the bank.
