Here's to a lovely relaxing summer and cheery new thread for us all.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JustRubes · 06/09/2014 08:28

Can do... Whoever is admin for it needs to just make it secret. Then it's not even searchable.

JustRubes · 06/09/2014 08:32

Kayz maybe??? Hi mom by the way! Nice to hear from you!

mckayz · 06/09/2014 09:31

I don't think I am. Someone set up a new group. I have no idea what her MN was but she is the singing Australian. I'll have a look though.

mckayz · 06/09/2014 09:32

The group that is already on there isn't the one I set up. I think that has gone.

JustRubes · 06/09/2014 11:52

Ha! Def ain't me Grin
Yes i know who you mean. I can't see any of our groups on their. I'll set up a secret group.

JustRubes · 06/09/2014 11:59

Right I've added all I have on my friends list so invite members who I have missed as I'm not sure who knows who on FB

IAmAPaleontologist · 06/09/2014 12:23

The one I'm a member of was secret anyway. kayz was in it, olipop, the singing one, vag. Not been used in ages though.

ThePoisonwoodBible · 06/09/2014 13:25

I'm Arti Rubes!

I actually meant an FB messenger group rather than a normal FB group as that's the only way Hons could be included. It's like a WhatsApp group. I will try and create now. If nobody likes it we can rethink.

ThePoisonwoodBible · 06/09/2014 13:26

I was thinking just for meet-up planning else we lose Hons and other non-FBers.

IAmAPaleontologist · 06/09/2014 13:36

Ok I'm am now on the fb message group and also seem to have been added to another secret group so I'm very confused as now am in 2 December 2008 secret fb groups Confused .

IAmAPaleontologist · 07/09/2014 15:40

Got to love my mil. site asked dh what I wanted for my birthday and he told her that he had got me some new running shoes but I could do with some new sports kit as I only have one set. She said "Oh good I'll go see what marks and spencers have"

m&s, that well known sports shop Grin .

Still, beats the jam pan I was once given, unwrapped because she had bought it for one of her dh's children's girlfriend but they split up and she didn't know what to do with it. She did that forcing crap on you thing that parents do so well and then after she had successfully palmed it off said "we'll that will do for your birthday then"

I don't make jam.

ever.

I have never used it.

yet the gigantic space taking thing is still in my house.

MontserratCaballe · 07/09/2014 19:29

Arti, can I buy your jam pan off you? I do a lot of that kind of thing and so I'd be pleased to give it a home. I'd be mighty issed off though that someone palmed off an unwanted present on me. I'll even give you a pot of my chilli jam.

Loving the new FB group. Still don't really understand the ins and outs but happy just to message people.

I don't want to lose this thread though. It's been over six years and is so important

IAmAPaleontologist · 07/09/2014 20:47

I'm not arti Grin .

But if you were to venture to County Durham I'd gladly give you my jam pan.

She once bought me a radiator for my birthday Hmm .

IAmAPaleontologist · 07/09/2014 20:52

I'm with you on not losing the thread. I'm sure that in time on fb I'll get to grips with who is who but I don't share on fb to the extent that I do on here. I don't rant, talk about particularly private stuff etc. it isn't just the anonymity on here as of course all of you know who I am on fb and I'm not all that fussed about hiding, but it is pretty safe from family members and not prone to fb glitches deciding to randomly reveal secret groups etc. I do the same with the local lot, we all do on there. We have a thread on the meet up boards and all talk about stuff we wouldn't bring to fb.

MontserratCaballe · 07/09/2014 21:01

Sorry indith of course not. My mistake Blush

IAmAPaleontologist · 07/09/2014 21:26
Grin

name changes are confusing. That's why I don't do it much as I confuse myself.

JamInMyWellies · 08/09/2014 00:58

I agree as happy as I am to use FB. I do share differently on here. Even though am sure if anyone in RL really wanted to they could easily find me on here.

Am jet lagged as is DS3. So am catching up on telly and watching Richard E Grants hotel secrets. Love this programme it's so stupidly decadent and Richard EGrant is so charmingly bonkers. DS3 is not watching though have double boobed him in the dark of his bedroom and left him too it. Grin

mckayz · 08/09/2014 10:18

I'm happy using both here and FB.

IAmDeids · 08/09/2014 11:16

Hello. I love the FB group as it's easy to see everyone's DCs etc. but I share much more on the thread and in more detail iyswim. So agree that we should keep the thread going too. It would be so sad it it just stopped.

My interview is tomorrow. I hate interviews. Feel sick at the thought Blush. Ridiculous I'm 37 and we are only talking a couple of hours max....need to breath deep!Smile

Honsandrevels · 08/09/2014 13:42

Just marking my place to catch up after our holiday.

Well remembered arti, I'm not on fb but can pm you whatever details you need for the messenger group thing.

Beans What adorable girls! How is dd2 settling in?

Vag Great news on getting on the course. Hope dh's formal offer comes through today.

Dd1 back at school today. She'd felt nervous all morning but as we walked up the hill she stopped me and whispered 'this is a bit exciting' and then ran in without a second look.

Dd2 has finally pooed on the toilet - she would only do it on the potty at home with a pull up with a hole cut in the back. Her first one was at a national trust place and she v proudly immediately announced it to a couple of bemused but kindly volunteers at the reception desk.

Vagolajahooli · 08/09/2014 22:32

Hello ladies. So the FB thing has settled down, that was hilarious. Today's Octonauts revelations were interesting.

DH has all his contracts and they are all signed. We are all booked up and are currently starting the massive process of getting rid of crap. DH is in London later this week to present his research talk on the security thing he did. He's become a bit of a minor celebratity in his area of IT. Lots of little geeks & tele commu nicat ions bosses getting excited (& a little freaked out). Unfortunately, he isn't staying long enough to be interviewed live for the Nacked Scientist, so they will have to do a pre-recorded interview.

Vagolajahooli · 08/09/2014 22:33

Celebratity???

ZuleikaJambiere · 09/09/2014 13:36

Hello all, the fb group has prompted me to pop my head back round this door too, how is everyone? I can't do a catch up, as all the name changes have thrown me! But well done to little Hons on the poo.

Today I have childbirth envy, a friend has had a snuggly new baby this morning, and despite not even knowing how she gave birth, I really, really want to do it again and have been lurking on the childbirth threads. Anyone want a new baby? I don't want another one of those, so if I could just give birth then it'd be up for grabs. If someone could remind me that it'd just as likely be a horrid birth as a lovely calm one, then that'd be appreciated. Ta

IAmAPaleontologist · 09/09/2014 15:09

Hope the interview has gone well Deids.

ZJ I'm afraid I'm with you. Give me a few of those nice days when pg enough to get some nice kicks but not so pg that they hurt, a nice birth and a couple of days basking on the sofa with a snuggly newborn. Then take the child away please I don't want another one.

IAmDeids · 09/09/2014 16:31

Well I survived the interview. It went pretty well (I think). I didn't stumble over my answers and think I made the right noises in the right places. But you can never tell. Should know one way or the other by tomorrow.

I was worried that I would be a little freaked out entering a prison. But I wasn't thank goodness! It was blardy huge though!!!!
