Hey ladies, marking my spot on the new thread, thanks for setting it up Sybs/Monserrat
Such lovely scan news Lady, I'm glad it's all going well. I was only thinking of your FIL at the weekend (while I playing with the guinea pigs of all things, so I'm not sure how that train of thought came about), I agree with the others about trying to leave for the worst of it. Will any of DHs family be there? Am I right in remembering they're not a happy lot?
I'm pleased to hear you've moved ok Rubes, and get well soon to DS. And also to Kayz DS too. Sorry to hear about your house Jam
Holiday sounds fab Beans, just what you needed. Sorry you had rain in Dorset, Monserrat - we're holidaying in the UK this year, and having been lucky with the weather for the last 3 years, I'm convinced our luck will run out this time
Arti are you feeling any better? And Veg, hope the head has cleared now?
I think that's about as good as my catch up gets, I posted on the old thread a couple of weeks back, but it failed to post, and I can't remember what it was about to attempt a rewrite. If I've missed you off today, I'm sure I was thinking of you in my last post
Things ticking along here - DD2 is sure to break me with her tantrums soon, they are hideous and have been going on for almost a year now, she's got an amazing strength of will. She had her 2(ish) year check today and tantrummed through most of it, as part of the tail end of a 50 minute screamathon, so it was really productive. Please all give me strength before I crack! I feel so sorry for DD1, who is largely ignored several times a day, while we try to stay firm with her sister. But heck DD1 was a tough baby, whereas DD2 was a delight, so I have to remember that it's all just a phase. This too shall pass, repeat ad infinitum.
Before I sign off for the night, I'm going to boast about DD1s star of the week award recently - a little girl has started at the school who doesn't speak any English, and no one in the school speaks her language, so obviously she's taking a while to settle in. Dd1 has taken her under her wing and has made it her mission to teach the new girl lots of English words and to get her to teach her words in her language, all completely under her own steam. And she was awarded star of the week for being kind and welcoming. And what made me eve more proud was when a Mum came to tell me she thought DD was lovely as (in the Mum's words) 'they all get it for trying hard at reading at some point, but DD really earned her star with her kindness'. I welled up, right there in the playground! Ok, boast over, she wouldn't thank the host on the school trip today, so she's still capable of mortifying me as well!
