Morning darlings! How are we all today? Arti, have you been to the docs yet? Hope you are OK and that you get a peaceful Friday with A.

I'm off on school run now but will be back later for proper catch up.

Love to you all XXXX

Monserrat, can't quite work out who you are?

Arti haven't heard from you, you ok?

Lady, I can't even begin to imagine how horrid it is going to be for you to sit through the inquest. So painful. But thank goodness he at least had you. Gosh, I still can't believe how horrible that all is. Not only to lose him, a lovely man and a link to DH, but to lose him like that. Please remind us when you go so I can swamp you with that white light.

Completely shattered today, last night of the four evenings walk was so long. I'm sure it was 10km. Both boys were champions. We are having a quiet afternoon, it is a perfect arvo for the beach but I think the boys need a rest. It us Whitsun weekend so we have a long hot weekend ahead with DH & the boys are on half term break now. DH & I going to Paul Weller tonight with some friends, so that's fun.

Hurrah on the scan lady. So lovely that dd2 was there too. Will they warn you so you can leave at graphic parts of the inquest? I should imagine no one wants to listen to such details about there loved ones so they'd be used to people requesting some warning.

Jam That's rubbish re the mortgage. No harm in asking if people would wait a few weeks for another application. They can only say no, which would be awful but maybe worth a try.

Arti Hope you made that gp appointment.

dd2 keeps nodding off in the middle of the day. I had to carry her round the supermarket earlier as when I put her in the trolley she kept lolling to the side. She is so heavy. I keep thinking she is going to be ill but she seems fine. Usually if she has a sneaky nod, on the car for example, she doesn't sleep at night, but she has gone to bed fine all week. Maybe she is building up to illness.

oh lordy I feel ill. DH & I went to the Paul Weller gig here in the Hague last night. Was brilliant. Ran into a few parents from school and the head teacher. I think it dragged all the 'certain age' types out for the night. Was a great show and the venue us quite small and funky. Usually a bit more woot woot, & a little less grey hair from the performers. I drank far too much g&t followed by bear. Also went for a few belgium brews after. I will definitely miss the availability of lovely beer when I go home. At swimming this morning with DS1. Was so shattered this morning I couldn't ride him to swimming so I did the streetcar hire thing.

Vag, sounds like a fun night!!

I am bleeding again, it is so annoying. I am meant to be having the implant on Tuesday so will see if that helps.

DD is absolutely wide awake. Sigh.

Vag, Paul Weller

DS2 got swing ball for his bday. DH and I have spent all afternoon on it. So much fun. It was getting a bit violent at one point. Competitive us? No. Wink

Hi all
Back after a week in Greece. Was lovely, but a week just not long enough. Also it rained for 2 days, which ruined it a bit.
Will catch up soon. DDs were so good and we put them in childcare a fair bit, so I did a LOT of reading! DD3 was adored by all. Will put some cheesy pics on FB soon.

DD2 is so so sweaty at night. Even back here where it's half the temperature. Any tips?

Am so very tired xx

Wow, Greece sounds fab. Very jealous after my wet week in Dorset. So sorry you are tired. How are you feeling now?

All good here. DS has been commando for the first time in weeks overnight and he made it! Hurray! let's see if he can repeat it.

Am going to have a shower then leap into action. have a good day XXX

Hello,
Sorry AWOL moved last week and have been spending my time looking for stuff ever since. Struggling a bit with swapping from an open plan house to up and down compartmentalised style! Garden was a mess and is miniature so started taming that but fortunately theres a park across the road, one sofa doesn't fit in and we have to take a window out. There's a loud vibration in the pipes that's driving me nuts. We have vowed this is the last rental and we will know where we end up next year and can hopefully be ready to buy there, so I keep telling myself it's a stop gap. I sound like a spoilt brat, but It's a lovely house, so could be worse! Annoyed that the house that let us down is across the road and they have now moved out earlier so only 5 days after we moved to this one - that one had suddenly become available. But at least we'll save more towards deposit here, and I'll live with the (slightly) more annoying school ride.

Had to post. Have read off and on but have forgotten heaps.
Glad you had nice times lady and Beans.
Lady glad the scan is a ok - time has flown.
Jam your house purchase mortgage situation sounds exactly like ours was. So annoying and sorry to hear. Where will you go on hols? Florida again?
I've signed a new tenant to our flat now but going to put it up for sale next year and buy at the end of this tenancy hopefully.
How's the driving Kayz?
We have been doing school run on bikes now - had to collect ds from school today about 2 hours later (didn't believe he was feeling ill Smile bad mother alert)
I'm quite liking the school run on bikes except I ride in thongs (flip flops) today and had a nasty coming together with pedal and heel. Big gash in heel now.
Must go ds calling me and given he's home sick I'd better be attentive.
This is his first sick day from school - quite amazing really! But I guess it's the old 48 hour rule now....

I'm loving driving now. Still shite at parking though.

DS2 wants to win the Tour de France. Which is fine but he won't let me take his stabilisers off. Plus I have no idea how to teach him. DS1 is pretty rubbish at riding his bike still.

Report
Indith · 10/06/2014 14:30

kayz get a balance buddy. It is like a big parent handle do you can take the stabilisers off and use it to hold him steady then let go. ds1 is finally riding well with no stabilisers. dd refuses to. She just wants to sit like a queen and be pushed. I had visions of nice bike rides with ds1 and dd riding and ds2 on a seat. Bloody girl won't even ride with stabilisers. She needs a motor Grin .

argh Rubes I do that all the time. DH changed my pedals a while back and the new ones had these metal teeth, ouch! I made him change them quick smart. Cycling to school is the best. I am basing our home location choice in Australia based on us being able to cycle to school.

Glad the driving is getting better Kayz.

We're on school holidays here at the moment, so chilling with my boys. The weather has been awesome so lots of beach action. DS1 has his first surfing lesson tomorrow. He was supposed to start last summer, but the broken arm kind of got in the way. He's pretty excited. There is the small issue of the jellyfish plague we are having at the moment. Poor DS2 got stung a few times yesterday. Might take some vinegar to the beach with us. We discovered yesterday that white wine also negates the sting.

Our poor cat had to have some teeth removed and a blood test to check rabies immunity ready for her import into Australia. She is a bit pissed about it now. Also she still seems to be having the effects of the aneasthic, her pupils are still massive. She looks like puss in boots from shrek, with the eyes.

Hey ladies, marking my spot on the new thread, thanks for setting it up Sybs/Monserrat

Such lovely scan news Lady, I'm glad it's all going well. I was only thinking of your FIL at the weekend (while I playing with the guinea pigs of all things, so I'm not sure how that train of thought came about), I agree with the others about trying to leave for the worst of it. Will any of DHs family be there? Am I right in remembering they're not a happy lot?

I'm pleased to hear you've moved ok Rubes, and get well soon to DS. And also to Kayz DS too. Sorry to hear about your house Jam

Holiday sounds fab Beans, just what you needed. Sorry you had rain in Dorset, Monserrat - we're holidaying in the UK this year, and having been lucky with the weather for the last 3 years, I'm convinced our luck will run out this time

Arti are you feeling any better? And Veg, hope the head has cleared now?

I think that's about as good as my catch up gets, I posted on the old thread a couple of weeks back, but it failed to post, and I can't remember what it was about to attempt a rewrite. If I've missed you off today, I'm sure I was thinking of you in my last post

Things ticking along here - DD2 is sure to break me with her tantrums soon, they are hideous and have been going on for almost a year now, she's got an amazing strength of will. She had her 2(ish) year check today and tantrummed through most of it, as part of the tail end of a 50 minute screamathon, so it was really productive. Please all give me strength before I crack! I feel so sorry for DD1, who is largely ignored several times a day, while we try to stay firm with her sister. But heck DD1 was a tough baby, whereas DD2 was a delight, so I have to remember that it's all just a phase. This too shall pass, repeat ad infinitum.

Before I sign off for the night, I'm going to boast about DD1s star of the week award recently - a little girl has started at the school who doesn't speak any English, and no one in the school speaks her language, so obviously she's taking a while to settle in. Dd1 has taken her under her wing and has made it her mission to teach the new girl lots of English words and to get her to teach her words in her language, all completely under her own steam. And she was awarded star of the week for being kind and welcoming. And what made me eve more proud was when a Mum came to tell me she thought DD was lovely as (in the Mum's words) 'they all get it for trying hard at reading at some point, but DD really earned her star with her kindness'. I welled up, right there in the playground! Ok, boast over, she wouldn't thank the host on the school trip today, so she's still capable of mortifying me as well!

Well I have just eaten the bag of maltesers bought to make the chocolate cake in the MN top bananas cook book for DH Fathers Day. oops.

I feel I can justify it though have just done day 10 of the 30 day ab challenge and I went on a 8.5 mile bike ride.

So lovely to see you all. I do get a little sad when the thread goes quiet.

Beans great to hear you had a lovely holiday.

Rubes glad you got moved ok. Ours is just a nightmare. Now with a broker to see what we can get. In the meantime the developer we are buying from has got an open house this wkend to try and shift the house. Our buyers seem to be happy to give us a couple of wks to see what happens. So we will see. So not hopeful, but am quite ok with it now. I have a lovely home already.

Vag sorry I shouldnt chuckle but you living in the dam and having a spangled cat is a little funny.

ZJ I really feel for you re the tantrums. DH found a video clip I took of DS2 a couple of yrs ago when his were at their worst. I had forgotten how hideous they were. It does get better I promise.
