Congratulations perse :)

persepolis123 · 30/05/2014 15:50

Thanks. I’m feeling all kinds of emotions, it’s really weird. Excited, nervous in case anything goes wrong, guilty because of others I know who are ttc/broody (on here and in rl) and totally shocked. Can’t believe it’s happened the first month of trying after taking 11 months with C. Oh and you are the first to know Wink

Lily311 · 30/05/2014 16:27

Congratulations !!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/05/2014 16:32

R went down at 5:30. Woke at 6, nappy dry. Popped him down and left to see if he'd settle. Calpol at 6:20 as still upset. Checked nappy at 6:30 and he'd both wee'd and poo'd(sp??!) I think he was trying to tell me he needed the toilet, how do I teach him to say Wee Wee? Shock

persepolis123 · 30/05/2014 18:49

Yeh VQ hopefully that means my labour will be quicker than 55 hours Shock Second time around is faster right? Any less than 24 hours and I'll be pleased Grin

PurplePidjin · 30/05/2014 19:28

Pikz · 30/05/2014 19:55

Congratulations perse xx

ValiumQueen · 30/05/2014 19:56

Perse this one will probably just slip out without you noticing Grin

YellowWellies · 30/05/2014 20:30

Perse so far I've found this pregnancy sooo much easier. It really is as though my body knows what its doing more this time. Obviously having said that the birth will be an utter clusterfuck..... Confused

Kyz · 30/05/2014 20:50

Before I start, congatulations persy!!!! So exciting!!

Thankyou for all of the fishy recipes :) very much appreciated :) I shall get on with trying them out :) I have meals planned for the rest of this week but I can work something fishy into next week :) I am keen to make sure e is offered a big variety of food and it seems much more possible now. Not that he didn't have variety before, but fish wasn't a regular thing. What do you all do when you're giving them something new and they don't like it? Up until now i've just grabbed a ready meal or something but I don't want him to have too many of those. He still won't eat sandwhiches and i'm in a bit of a rut with lunch time stuff too tbh. I keep meaning to make a post on facebook but I don't want to bombard the fb group with stuffs!

eliza I hope your friend joins you on the soft drinks too, that would be lovely :)

hope you don't find h undressed again tonight gt!

good luck with your budgeting vq I expect I should do similar and unstick my head from the sand. I am not terrible with money but definitely should be better! I don't tend to spend money on me ever so I am having my hair cut tomorrow. I always find the pets/e/house type stuff is more important money wise and I am terrible for having a bit spare and buying them something.

Nappies wise e wears 5+ pampers but they are pretty expensive so may try him with something cheaper and see if they're any good. I did want to try cloth but never did get round to it in the end :(

So tomorrow I am having my hair cut in the morning, then I am cooking lasagne, will take e to feed the ducks and for a bit of a walk, and once he is in bed me and dp are going to watch I, Frankenstein. I am really looking forward to it! What's everyone else up to tomorrow?

PurplePidjin · 30/05/2014 21:06

Lunch here is sandwiches, egg or beans on toast, sometimes soup or crumpets. R likes sardines in tomato sauce mushed up in a sandwich but it would mix into pasta just as well. It's also nice under cheese and on top of toast :)

Not too late to try cloth especially if you're planning another and would reuse the nappies! All In Ones like Totsbots Easyfits or Miosolos are regularly on 3 for 2 at places like Mothercare, Boots, Kiddicare and Tesco. You just fold the booster in and put them on like a disposable, but instead of throwing them away you pop them in a bucket lined with a mesh laundry bag then wash. I reckon you'd need about 12 for daytime-only use to wash every 2nd or 3rd day, which would be an initial outlay of £120. Pampers are about £1 a day (27p per nappy ish) so over the course of another year before potty training will be £365.

My new nappies (I bought lots preloved) work out at about 4p "each" if you go on cost per wear

PetiteRaleuse · 30/05/2014 21:24

kyz have a look at the mn youtube channel. Lots of easy recipes going up there.

soph your risotto rocks!!!! Yum. Big success.

Passmethecrisps · 30/05/2014 21:32

Evening my beautiful chums.

A special hello to our lovely upduffed ladies. Another journey beginning and how lucky are we to be sharing?

I am not sure pp. I have no idea why p learned wee and poo but i suspect the CM may have had a role. She can identify doing both now but I think it started by being in the loo a watching us. She would shreak into the toilet bowl "wee wee!!". Maybe just keep doing that and he will figure it out. I am glad his rash is starting to resolve it has been a long time coming.

Who asked about lunch? I used to send p with hot meals for lunch but since the CM lost her cooker it has been a range of cold food. despite my very best efforts the most successful lunch is sandwiches. Or were we talking about fish? I make p fish cakes with tinned salmon, mash and spring onion. I bread them then freeze them.

I also like fish risotto - smoked fish is very tasty.

We have had an about turn with p's willingness to let go of her dummy. Since she was poorly recently it is a am constant battle to get her to give it up and then it seems to upset her so much it seems unkind. We had another 'chat' and apparently today after nap DH saw her run back into her room and place meemee in her cot. Unfortunately he commented on it which made her run back and get it. My mil the other day said that she hadn't mentioned it all day until I got home so I wonder if it is me

PetiteRaleuse · 30/05/2014 22:41

DD1 gets her dummy after nursey for the ride home, then at bedtime. LO is the same. But she has it for her nap too.

we went to a lovely julia Donaldson exhibition today at an historic dockyard. They had sections about each book with various activities, original artwork and story boards. Did you know a squash and a squeeze started off as a song on play days (I think it was) and a publisher got in touch asking her to turn it into a book. The rest, as they say is history.
