Oh seven! Get thee a bag packed!!!! Grin

AnAirOfHope82 · 03/08/2014 13:35

Seven it doesnt matter if the dates were right or wrong as the baby will come when its ready Grin

Imo I think the dateing is just to give the medical staff a time frame to work to, like an action plan! I could be wrong lol

Today we have plaied bingo, snakes and ladders, had icecream cones, breakfast, coffee, watched inspector gadget, had indoor picnic. Then there will be baking, kite flying and park (maybe) as im still ill but feel guilty Air is stuck in with the sick people so im forceing myself to have fun! Tomoro I might try taking him swimming before AF arrives!

mopsytop · 03/08/2014 13:42

Could well be wrong seven. Either way I'd get prepared just in case! Good luck!

Got a play tent in IKEA (braved it thus morning).... HUGE success. And will for nicely in her new room (if we ever move)... great toy storage methinks!

TheOnlySeven · 03/08/2014 14:00

Bag has been packed since last week just in case.

oi I'd have been more surprised if it hadn't upset you going to a wedding so soon after separating.

mopsy play tent sounds like a great idea, hope ikea wasn't too hellish.

mopsytop · 03/08/2014 17:41

How're things seven? Any progression?

Just went to the park. Minimopsy went on her tricycle, we played football, we played on the swings and seesaw. Was lovely fun.

Aethelfleda · 03/08/2014 19:26

seven, only 5% of babies come on their due date. The other 95% come when they are ready! The dating is mostly to check that your dates aren't wildly out, to give a benchmark for that baby so that if they grow too slowly you can prove it based on where they "should" be, and for the early ones, so you can say they are "x" weeks on when they come and that tailors their neonatal care a little. So forget what the scan claims and listen to your body... Good luck!

Sympathy oi (((hug))) but remember nothing is ideal, most of the "happy" relationships you see about you are like the proverbial swan with smooth gliding above and frantic legs kicking underneath...you just don't see that bit....

TheOnlySeven · 03/08/2014 22:11

Thanks aethel.

Nothing more, guess we'll have to wait and see. Don't want her to arrive just yet though ideally, I've got steroid injections for her lungs next week to hopefully avoid SCBU after DD2 scaring us.

Figster · 03/08/2014 22:46

Worst night up here so far ds still awake won't go sleep I'm knackered after last nights wedding Hmm

pluCaChange · 04/08/2014 10:16

What is this heat of which you speak? Did we miss it? Back now, and the house smells mouldy -ugh.

Seven, I hope you're still hanging on! Smile

mopsy, you sound more cheerful!

OiMissus, totally human emotional reaction. And as for the "failed marriage" idea, my mother's never said that. She's always said that she got two "beautiful" [sic] children out of it, and although I thought that was bullshit when I was a teenager, I now know what she means. You and DH seem fairly besotted of DS, so you'vr both got at least one long-term love from it, and don't seem to hate obe another, so tgat's not too bad! Smile

AnAir, that's an amazing programme of entertainments! Were you ever a teacher or nursery nurse? Smile

Hope you had s nice time with your mother, Northern. Do DP and DS come along when you see her? You didn't mention them?

I hope figgyboy gets into a normal cycle soon? Could the extended daylight be affecting him? (I know he's been a trial fir a while, but that just means at the least that he hasn't got the physical reserves to deal with the light. Anyway, hopefully he'll settle, SOOOOON!

P.S. Just having breakfast, and it feels like luxury: toast with lashings of Lurpak spreadable and lashings of raspberry jam, and COFFEE with alarge amount of full-fat hot milk. I didn't have a decent coffee all the time we were in Canada. Percolators everywhere, and just vile.

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 10:27

ha yes I felt guilty for being such a moany pants plu.

Ugh re sleep issues fig Sad

mmm toast, lurpak and raspberry jam. YUM.

pluCaChange · 04/08/2014 11:48

Oh, and it's sooo unjustified to complain about migraines, SPD/PGP, eh? Don't be silly. Smile We're all best placed to understand one another and to sympathise.

Dunno why DH is so down on spreadable Lurpak. It's tasty AND it's easy. I can't be bothered with all the planning for butter. Confused

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 11:49

Me too. And I dislike the taste of a those "healthy"Hmm spreads. Lurpak = yum plus easy!

pluCaChange · 04/08/2014 12:50

mopsy, you're not, by any chance procrastinating because you"ve got writing to do? I ask because I'm MNing because I've got housework to do! And radiators to order. And a burnt-out laptop battery to order a replacement for. And.... hmm... maybe more MN required!

OiMissus · 04/08/2014 12:52

I have ulcers all around my tongue. Sad
Maybe holidays don't agree with me.
I went out with a couple of girlfriends last night. Decided this morning that it would be irresponsible to get behind the wheel so I've worked from home.
Terribly bad form for my first day back after a week off! Blush
But at least it gives me chance to keep swilling salty water around. Confused
As for butter, I love butter. I won't have spreads in the house. Begrudgingly I do have Lurpak spreadable, for ease. However, in the lovely heat, solid butter is soft enough - even too melty - in my butter dish.

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 13:18

Oh dear plu. Caught 'rapid' as we used to say in my youth.

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 13:19

Will just have a quick search of boys names and then get back to it Wink

Any boy names ideas welcome

pluCaChange · 04/08/2014 13:35

I like Henry! Smile

Sounds painful, Oi! Time off can do that to you, I fear! I'm just nursing an incipient zit under one nostril - not yet visible, but uncomfortable!

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 13:55

Yeah me too Plus but it doesn't match our surname at all, alas Sad

TheOnlySeven · 04/08/2014 14:09

If I'd had another boy he'd have been called James.

Nothing happening today, other than regretting giving in to the nesting instincts, I'm exhausted today!

Aethelfleda · 04/08/2014 14:41

Boys names? Something that's not on the bestsellers list, but not impossible/too variant to spell... Have a grown man friend who's spent his whole life telling people he's Bryan-With-A-Y.... It's not as bad if there's a clear girl/boy version like Robin/Robyn...

So try Alistair, Julian, Oliver, Jeremy, Victor, Rufus...

Leave off the pretentious/way-out like Kastaberous, Octavian, Maximillian, or Zebulah....

And don't go near Shayne, Kayne, Keyyan, or Wayne!

(Call em anything you like that works with your surname as any middle names you have planned...)

pluCaChange · 04/08/2014 14:53

Rumpelstiltskin! People know that one. Wink

OiMissus · 04/08/2014 14:54

I like Rufus, and Hector.
Love Gabriel - but menfolk worry about nicknames...

TheOnlySeven · 04/08/2014 18:04

I know a woman who called her son, wait for it ... Zebedee

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 18:39

Nooooo. Poor kid Hmm

mopsytop · 04/08/2014 18:40

I like Alistair, Julian and Oliver! And James!
