AnAirOfHope82 · 18/07/2014 10:47

pluCaChange · 18/07/2014 13:36

TANTRUM AT THE AIRPORT!!!!

We look like the fsmilyfrom hell, but hopefully this will cheer her up. After all, DS has rhrown up as well

hope it's all out of their systems! Shock Grin

Figster · 18/07/2014 13:44

Why do I keep trying to rationalise with toddler???

Him I want a Postman Pat balloon
Me after swimming
Him no now
Me please come to swimming you like swimming and we are late
Him no I need balloon

He was A nightmare at swimming he was a nightmare getting the weekly shop after swimming shouted yelled all round the supermarket. I have to take him to a contact lens check at 3 he is clearly going to be at nightmare oh and he threw his shoes in the paddling pool so probably won't have any footwear to wear anyway.

The sun has only just come out too

AnAirOfHope82 · 18/07/2014 14:17

This age is hard for everyone, they get better but never stop having tantrums. Ignor, ignor, ignor and defuse works best and if all else fails just pick them up as is and take with you.

I dont negotiate with two/three yo, someone has to be the boss and its always me Blush (they have a choice but its a choice I want them to have )

TheOnlySeven · 18/07/2014 14:26

aethel it was some stupid car racing game, I've deleted the app and turned off in-app purchases in the settings, as well as changing my password and the passcode to access the restrictions, so he certainly won't manage it again! I'd been meaning to tell you btw that I've become a cloth-nappy addict, I even cut up a blanket into fleece liners yesterday.

The heat wave is here btw, our garden is currently 30, I'm hiding indoors next to the fan with the curtains closed. Anyone who actually plans September babies around the school year and would prefer being massively pregnant this time of year is mad.

Enjoy your holiday plu

TheOnlySeven · 18/07/2014 14:29

Absolutely ignore tantrums as much as possible, you will never win an argument with a 2yo so don't bother trying.

Figster · 18/07/2014 16:43

Well he was quite good in the end at appointment mainly due to giving him the biggest banana he's ever seen in his life Grin but of course by time went for balloon postman pat nemo And monsters university all gone he's ended up with a frozen one sure his daddy will be chuffed

Honestly there's been times this week I've been glad we only have 1 child I can feel my stress levels through the roof with him not listening hitting and shouting all the time everything is taking twice as long as usual and he refuses to brush his teeth at all. He's been up since before 6 no sleep so tonight dh is out I'm getting into a big glass of wine and he's going bed early.

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2014 18:44

Good things: the DDs now have prescription shades. dS finally settled at almost half ten but then was so tired e slept through til almost 7am. They both got good school reports so we are going to go and see the Joseph musical as a reward for year-long good effort (it's touring). This means I get to take them! Now half way through DH's trip...

Less good things: I am a cranky mum when it's this hot.
The peppa Pig obsession is back in force... Sigh.....

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2014 21:02

"Me want Peppa PIIII!!!" -repeat x 1000.....

mopsytop · 18/07/2014 21:17

Know that feeling aethel. Also feeling a bit freaked out by how much of her life view is shaped by the wretched pig family. Every time she sees a bird she says 'shoo birdy'. Direct consequence of the growing flowers episode. She is currently in bed singing the binga bonga boo song. Earlier she said, a propos of nothing, 'it's twinkle toes NOT horsey' Blush

AnAirOfHope82 · 18/07/2014 21:32

I wouldnt mind peppa dd loves scooby doo and Spongebob. I get "Eeeee Vile" and "Im ready, im ready, im ready" x1000 along with scooby snack time!!!! Sad

Also "hulk smash" and "release the baby, dd dda ddar" strange baby girl!!!!!

Ds got gold award for excellent work today at school so I had one very happy, giddy little boy this afternoon. He had a nap after school as he has cought and been sick every night this week and had trouble sleeping. He now has spots on his tummy but they are not itching so im guessing just a viral cold/cough things. Its not sick just clearing gunk off his chest!

AnAirOfHope82 · 18/07/2014 21:38

Every time ds is ill he gets spots, I keep thinking he will have CP but no just spots due to fighting off virus

Figster · 18/07/2014 21:59

Ds currently obsessed with wreck it Ralph he wants to watch it every day multiple times a day!!

OiMissus · 19/07/2014 08:50

Boi is just Thomas-mad.
But worse than that, the last 2 days, if he doesn't get what he wants, and I mean the slightest thing, he bawls and bawls. It is not pleasant!
In other news, we have a house cat for a week. Grin

Figster · 19/07/2014 09:16

I enjoyed my glass of wine and then chancery gin last night watched old episodesof greys anatomy until around midnight before being woken by bloody thunders d lightning at 5 ds slept until 7 then came in for cuddles til 8.

Off to see how to train your dragon 2 this morning with dh ds going to PIL dh loved the first HTTYD. Mil doing lunch after yay!!

It's still raining and thundering here so expect afternoon will be doing housework. What's weather like where everyone is?

AnAirOfHope82 · 19/07/2014 10:54

South Yorkshire is wet Sad

Dc have finished school now and its party in the park today. One of our friends is playing in the bandstand at 1pm so we were going to watch/support but its raining, no sure we will go now!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 19/07/2014 12:58

Its raining here. Get the animals on the ark type rain. I went out again last night, then couldn't sleep because it's so bastard hot and then the thunder woke me up. DH taken DS swimming and then were going to IKEA later, just for something to do.

OP posts:
AnAirOfHope82 · 19/07/2014 16:52

We didnt go to PITP as its rainning too much. Everyone apart from me is napping and snoring! Im watching harry potter!

Im so bored Hmm

TheOnlySeven · 19/07/2014 19:54

Another hot humid one here, though a bit more bearable as we've had a nice cool sea breeze unlike yesterday. Mother of all thunderstorms at 5am though which woke both DDs. DD1 has been in the foulest overtired mood as a result though, fell asleep mid-tantrum under the table, then carried on the tantrum for another 15 minutes when she woke up

OiMissus · 20/07/2014 10:43

Just dropped Boi at his dad's.
Deep breath!
... I think I'll clean the fish tank.
Although with a cat in the house that may not be wise. But it needs cleaning, and will take up a couple of hours. Smile
Must. Keep. Busy! Blush

Aethelfleda · 20/07/2014 20:19

((((((Hug)))) oi, how long til Boi is back?

Poor DD1 had a little stress at me today, cos DH has been flying with the airline that starts with M. "But they already lost a plane and now the other one crashed, are you sure it's not a whole set of rubbish aircraft? Are you sure Daddy's going to be Ok?" 9 year old logic. Hard to argue against really. Did my best. Sigh. Trying not to think about it too much.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 20/07/2014 20:56

Have finally managed to get rid of the chicken in my garden, with the help of a mop bucket. Better not come back! Poor cat is sat very sadly, staring out the window.

OP posts:
OiMissus · 20/07/2014 23:27

The chicken is back, isn't it?
The airline that begins with M... Just horrendous bad luck. They'll probably go out of business in the next 5 days, and your DH will fly back with Emirates, or Quantas. Whatever happens, his flight path will not go near any fighting countries!
Originally, we said that Boi could do Sunday and Monday with DH.
Then I was invited out with some mums on Tuesday. So I asked to swap. DH agreed. So I'll see Boi tomorrow. Grin
We questioned whether it was better to do blocks, or one day here, one day there etc. for Boi. He's oblivious! It's us who feel it! During the week it's ok. But today was tough, and I saw him this morning and did football with him. Dropped him off at 10. By 1 I was climbing the walls. I was invited to Sunday lunch with them, but thought it better to give space.
Anyway, got lots done.
But the fish doesn't look happy...
He's looked poorly for a few weeks, this last upheaval may have done for him. He's a goldfish. About 6-7 inches long. About 8- 9 yrs old, I think.
Anyway, tis late. I'd better get orf to bed. Goodnight ladies,
A demain!
X

TheOnlySeven · 21/07/2014 09:03

How long do goldfish normally live? 8-9 years sounds like it's had a good life to me. Must be so hard being away from BOi, how have you been feeling since separating oi?

aethel hope your DD1 isn't worrying herself too much, they've certainly had rotten luck.

Our garden is 31 degrees already at 9am, so fed up with this heat now.
