The Maybies are on the move to Postnatal! This is for graduated Maybies (and other baybies due in May but with other ideas; the almost-Maybies!) to discuss adventures in sleepless nights, nappies and lovely newborn snuggles. However you feed, however you nappy, however you give birth and however you like your tea - if your baby was born in May (or was supposed to be!), this is the post-natal club for you!

Oh my!! Trying to organise a baby and his bag to go out is worse than preparing to go on holiday!!!

It's mad isn't it ohdear!!! We had it nice and easy because we were using the bottles of ready-made milk... now that we've switched formula and they don't make those bottles of it, our bag includes a flask of boiling water, two sterilised bottles, a milk powder dispenser with powder for two feeds in it... on top of the spare clothes, spare blanket, spare scratch mitts, two dummies, her toy rings and mirror, changing mat, nappies, wipes, sudocream, nappy bags... I'm sure I was never this good at packing before

Hello ladies!

Still can't quite believe I'm already able to post in the post natal thread. Don't remember what it was like without her now!

Looking to see what everyone thinks...so Olivia point blank refuses to sleep anywhere other than on my/OH's chest at night. She can be sound asleep after a feed, put her down into the Moses basket and screams bloody murder, lay her on our chest and out cold again. This is the only way we've managed to get sleep since she's been home. I'm now considering getting one of the co sleeper cots as she seems to be keen on plenty contact when she's sleeping. Does anyone have any experience with the cots? My OH parents have very kindly said they will buy it for us (and ANYTHING else we want...first grandchild ) so just wondering whether it's worth it or not.

cosleeper cot would be amazing, no experience but I coslept with ds for that reason. dd so far seems happy in her (massive) cot on the other side of our room! (famous last words)

Callie lifted her head all on her own three times, and rolled from her front to her back during tummy time last night I know the rolling was a fluke but the head lifting was very deliberate, she's getting so good at it!

I find when noah is laid on my chest he lifts his head!!

He isn't allowed to yet!because im his mummy and I say so haha

Hello all, I gave birth to DS Alfie on Saturday morning, 5 days early. The labour and birth was pretty traumatic and I ended up with a third degree year. Home today and am really struggling. So tired and every muscle in my body aches. Mummytobe I have exactly the same problem as you, he is refusing to sleep anywhere but on our chests or in our arms. What do I do?!

Hello baby Charlie born Saturday eve in the pool which I really wanted. It must be a newborn thing ghis sleeping only when cuddled, Charlie is doing it too. Hubby and I are doing two hour trades so we can sleep as I do not dare to co sleep

mummycherry it's a nightmare isn't it?! Don't get me wrong I love a cuddle with her but it's not an ideal sleeping situation. My OH parents have very kindly bought us a snüzpod which is a co-sleeper cot that attaches to our bed. We tried it for the first time last night and it worked a treat!! Olivia slept the whole 3 hours between her feeds in the cot. I think being that close to us and being close enough that we can comfort her right away seems to have settled her. Fingers crossed it lasts!

I found holding his hand did the trick in the end to settle him so I'm going to do this same timing tonight and see what happens... How is everyone feeling today? We are day 2 now, still can't believe how sore and achy I am! Starting to get very teary too but my mum and Nanna said that it's probably just milk starting to come through. How did everyone else cope with their births?

My poorly little girl :( got to take her to the GP tomorrow, the out of hours people think she might be lactose intolerant :(

Oh no moomin, that must be awful :( how are you feeding her at the mo? We've had a bad night so far BUT he's just settled down and has been asleep in his basket for 15 mins... This is 4 hours better than last night so I'll take that as a victory!

Oh no moomin hope she's doing ok! What a nightmare

I've just had another successful night in the snüzpod with Olivia. So pleased this seems to be working!!

Oh and mummycherry Friday night and Saturday night consisted of me holding back tears that we're coming for no reason at all. Just felt completely overwhelmed and very emotional. These are the days when my boobs felt the sorest from the milk!! I'm FF aswell so they aren't even getting used up.

Hourly at the moment!

I've also found myself crying on occasions for no reason then I look at my little boy and know I need a grip !!

We're wimmen with raging hormones, we're allowed a slip of emotions xx

Mummycherry she's on C&G Comfort at the moment for her colic and constipation but it's done very little to relieve it, she screams and screams with the pain. I hope it's something much simpler, or even something like cows' milk allergy rather than lactose intolerance. Her dad had cows milk allergy as a baby and is absolutely fine now, whereas I've really struggled with food intolerance and gluten sensitivity even now so I really hope she doesn't have something similar :(
