Feb '06 - Sausage roll anyone?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2006 07:38

Right ladies - the race is on to see which of our DCs can self feed a sausage roll first!

Oh, and some of you don't seem to have aged since we got pregnant, so if you've got closer to your telegrams from the queen then please let me know!

Personally, I think my tea stained sink is far more unique looking.

Could do calls on treadmill, but then I'd be walking! Cant even watch telly as it faces the wrong way and is too noisy when you're pounding!!

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 21:25

My plan is to take Boy to my friends house in Holloway and get the tube from there, then she can babysit, and I can go back to hers and stay overnight.
Haven't told dp about this yet though.

mustrunmore · 23/08/2006 21:26

Ooo, so potentially I could meet you outside?!

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 21:27

I was kind of hoping you'd say that

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 21:27

Amiable · 23/08/2006 21:57

I'm also going to the xmas do, so would be great to meet up with familiar faces beforehand and go in together - confidence in numbers and all that!

Meant to ask before, is it normal for two teeth to come through at the same time? DD has both her front bottom teeth through. I'm keeping her drugged up but she is obviously in a lot of pain and has become a velcro baby.

Briefly read the FLY stuff - looks very interesting. I will read more in depth, but think it's the sort of thing I need to give me a kick up the bum to keep the flat in good shape. A small flat and loads of stuff (translation: cr*p!) is not a good combination, but I find it really difficult to get rid of stuff that may come in handy at some point, or nick-nacks and things I've bought on my travels. They're all in boxes taking up valuable storage space. I know I should get rid, but just find it really hard to do.

Frizbe · 23/08/2006 22:11

It was with dd1 Aimiable seem to remeber she got the 1st four within a week...
dd2 however is so far a differnt kettle, she had her 1st one a few weeks ago,it broke thru, then disappeared again popped up a few days later, LL and Astro from the march thread will verify this, as they saw it! then its gone again

Frizbe · 23/08/2006 22:13

Somebody slap me, feeling broody again.....good job dh is away

Frizbe · 23/08/2006 22:16

Oh Flame, social services do 'real nappy shows' hope that translates for you!

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 22:31

I was imagining nappy nazis.
My post natal group had a real nappy woman visit (except she didn't turn up) I took over the talk, and converted one other mum. Maybe you could try the local hvs to see ifg they'd let you do something similar.(only you would turn up of course)

I just noticed teeth appearing with the dds. Never had "teething "as such. None 'til after I stopped bf though.

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 22:33

I suspect there will be more mumsnetters outside this place at Xmas than inside at the beginning, while we all meet familiar faces

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2006 06:49

I want to go to the xmas do, but depends on whether DD is 'leavable' by then.

More imminently, I spotted a thread about hubs b'day bbq yesterday. Anyone going to that?

Boy sat on his own yesterday long enough for me to get the camera and take pics
Then he fell backwards and bumped his head. Ooops

Bad mummy here... DD1 lost her second tooth yesterday, and the tooth fairy forgot to come. She suspected it was me, now she knows for sure.

Flamey · 24/08/2006 07:34

lol - just on quick - Psycho did decide to tell me about the Xmas do the other day!!! If 2 of us would squeeze onto your sofabed then I am up for it... I can't afford a hotel, so it is curl up on someone's floor, or nothing for me. My sister lives in Lewisham but I don't think that she would put up me AND Psycho.

Social Services makes much more sense... I was picturing Nappy Nazis too,

mustrunmore · 24/08/2006 08:42

You're very welcome to our sofa bed, as long as you're aware that ds1 thinks he has exclusive rights to bounce on it in the morning!! And our 'lodger' might be around, but he doresn't tend to bounce on other people's beds unless they're about 18 and stick thin And I dont believe in ironing anything, let alone bedsheets
Its a bit of a trek back from the West End though, unless we get a cab and split it. If we're in time for the tube, it'll take 45 mins prob, if we have to get a night bus it'll take forever!

PhoenixGirl · 24/08/2006 08:48

Just on quick

Jas i did that when lewis first sat up, but i'm even worse i took the photo of him falling then he banged his head on the floor and screamed. I'd show u the falling over pic but he got no nappy on and i don't want to flash his bit all over mn.

damewashalot · 24/08/2006 09:36

Morning!

How's the back flame? and was it frizbe with the head? well is that better too? Mine didn't get as far as a full blown migraine but still feels odd.

Ds3 sits quite well, I put him in his nest so that if he falls (or when) he lands on something soft

Last night he gave me nip with his brand new tooth, ouch! hope that he's not going to make a habit of it as I really don't want to stop bfeeding , it's so easy and I'm really enjoyig it this time.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2006 10:40

I'll ask again! Is anyone (mrm, Jas?) going to hub's b'day bbq

OP posts:
Jasnem · 24/08/2006 20:11

Not me...that was the first I'd heard of it. Will be busy, anyway.

Boy has spent all day clapping his hands and looking proud, today.

3k · 24/08/2006 20:29

I wont be going either CSWS, not spoken to hub before. I only seem to post on this page.

My SIL had a little baby girl by c-section today, she was 6lbs 3oz and they called her Ellie. I'm now feeling VERY broody and I dont want to be I'm going to see them tomorrow evening in hospital so looking forward to that.

Think DS may have a start of a cold. He has slept loads today and has a runny nose. He'll be asleep shortly, DH just giving him his bottle.

No other news from me really, been a bit boring this week. Ben now says "muuuuuummmmmmmyyyyyy" instead of mumma so that is nice. Still hasnt progressed to "daddy" I have been saying it to him loads!!

Frizbe · 24/08/2006 20:41

3k bless him that's soo sweet

Not the SS you dingbats don't even want to imagine the ss in nappies.....

Bloomin dd2 is screaming the place down here she's messed up on her naps today, been at a friends for lunch with lots of kids around and they've all stopped her napping, everytime she dropped off she got woken by a scream or a kiss.....so morning and afternoon naps got severely disrupted, and thus she won't go to sleep now.....I'm going up every 10-15 mins, and she shuts up as soon as she sees me, so I know she's ok.....she's happily, fed, watered, boobed, nappied.....maybe its teeth as well? might have to resort to calpol soon....

mustrunmore · 24/08/2006 20:54

Hello. only on quick as just got home after a day at Chessington. csws... not going; haven't really 'mixed' with that side of mn

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2006 20:56

Evening all.

Doing v well with fingerfoods now. Yesterday and today she's had broccoli, cauliflower, sandwiches, toast, hard boiled egg, chantenay carrots (the short stumpy ones), banana fingers and a couple of bits of pasta. Some given by me to help her practice chewing and some self fed. She seems to have massively increased the volume that she's been eating too - I think she just gets a bit bored if I give her too much of the same thing at one go - fair enough really!

Decided to go to hub's do even if I haven't met any of the others in person before. It's the same day as the wedding that I was deliberating about going to, but we turned that down in the end because of Pippa not being allowed (I know you all told me to go, but it was just proving to be too hard with her still not taking a bottle and being quite clingy).

DD been spoilt again by my parents . They're off in a mo.

Knackered now as been up since 4:15 (DD asleep til 5:50), but need to try and stay up later than last night (crashed at 9:30!) to try and get my sleeping patterns more sensible. Hoping that DD will make it 3 nights in a row tonight - fingers crossed!

Hope all well and all aches and pains disappearing. Not many of you around today it seems - bet you'll all be on here chatting after I've gone to bed again!
