Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 18:48

I think it is fab. I would love it. Smile pp

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2014 18:56

Yay, I thought something plain and simple would be best and i can hopefully knock it out tonight the yarn is turquoise with pink/purple/yellow twisted with it so it variegates a bit, but subtly. I'm on row 3 already, it's a really easy pattern! Might get some cream or white and adapt it to be longer and long sleeved for over a wedding dress...

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 18:58

Nice idea..

ValiumQueen · 26/02/2014 19:02

Very nice Pidg.

DD1 has it now. Just Daddy to go and we have a full set. Great.

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 19:40

pidj I would be chuffed if someone made that for me.

The latest installment... BIL has said he would send the money for FIL's op but he can't find anyone to send it through Hmm Admittedly with the sanctions it's a bit tricky to send money to Iran but a a quick google will give you a few options so he's obviously not tried very hard.

Anyway I have a solution. He can send half the money to us, we will pay half and send the whole lot to MIL. Now we will see how keen he is to help and what lame excuse he comes up with now.

A small wedding suits me fine so that's what it will have to be or I'll be waiting forever. I just want to be married tbh, I'm not interested in a big fancy do.

Lily311 · 26/02/2014 19:48

I hope apple that he is serious.

Fuck me, Debra just saw dexter killing. I wasn't expecting that! 2 more series to go.

GTbaby · 26/02/2014 19:55

Lily! You just gave away a major spoiler!

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 19:57

I hope so too. We are prepared to pay the whole amount ourselves but have given him the chance to do the right thing. We'll see. Trouble is we aren't talking to him, or rather he decided to stop talking to us for no reason about a month ago so my suggestion has to go through MIL then DP's other brother who will ask him Hmm

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 19:58

oops lily Grin

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2014 19:59

apple I've been looking into it and it's expensive Sad £451 for a church service, £308 for a saturday in the register office. Then frock, suit, rings and reception. Although in our case, both MIL and my parents have suggested they'd pay for the reception (lunch for 30ish) and MIL loves baking so I wouldn't consider anything other than her making the cake! There are places you can have a weekday ceremony for £49 in my county, although they're not really convenient for us but might be worth looking at for you? Also, do you have friends or family that might like to give you part of the wedding as a wedding present, e.g. best man paying for suit hire or maid of honour paying for flowers? I don't really want people to give us presents although some will insist because of tradition Hmm so treating us to part of the day would be lovely.

My dad used to be a wedding photographer as a hobby, and bil takes awesome photos of family occasions (and has had stuff picked up by magazines) so I'll skip hiring a photographer. And flowers, I much prefer plants that are still alive. I'm going to ask all the guests with children to choose a nice party outfit sil has done it already! that their dc will wear again and they can follow me up the aisle as bridesmaids and page boys if they want to. That cuts out a huge expense. My dad has a lovely old MG i'll travel in, I might splash out and hire df's dream car for him to travel in as a surprise otherwise I'll see if someone can lend us something nice. Then lunch for all the guests and people can go home if they don't want to spend on a hotel - the furthest away person is 4 hours and has a flash car, he came as a day trip for the christening Shock as did one of R's godfathers from 3 hours away with two young children in tow.

Not that I've thought about it at all Hmm

Lily311 · 26/02/2014 20:03

I'm sorry gt , I thought I was the last of dexter virgin. You lot always talked about it. I'm really sorry.

Passmethecrisps · 26/02/2014 20:06

Evening buxom wenches!

What a busy day for everyone!

I was sorry to read about you FIL apple. I am glad it seems to be working out. I hope your bil steps up.

Moar bugs vq?!? Incredible. Fingers crossed this is a speedy one and buggers off quickly.

Ehm.

Oh aye! Lolz at the future setting up. I am Grin at the idea of being J's mother in law vq! As long as you bring him up to appreciate women sweary then we should all get along swimmingly!!

I am impressed with your tantrum management kyz! When they do it in public it can be so hard. Given that the vast majority of babies behave that way at some point you would expect fewer tuts and stares really. I ended up giggling at p tonight. She was going up the stairs but decided that she wanted to slide back down. I needed her up. So I carried her up. When I tried putting her on her feet she collapsed to her knees and roared into the sky! I gave her cuddles then she didn't want cuddles and would shake her head whenever I offered. So I ran away and hid. That fixed it.

GTbaby · 26/02/2014 20:10

Argh just scrolled back to find my post as a marker as to where I started reading. And it's gone. Again.

Lucky I copied this time ...

What a shitty shit night. I was mostly posting to document my wakings as I never can remember in morning.
At one point i had crying A in my arms. But I was looking in the cot and bed to find him... For some reason I thought I was holding H ? Wtf

Donna H loves "baby" totally adores him. Nothing I did though. I guess we were conscious of it when A was born. Tried to hold H as much as I could. But I has loads of ppl constantly playing with H n keeping him occupied. A couple occasions he has been attention seeking when I have A and no one else is about. Or when my sis has held A. But otherwise it's been ok. When he is groggy about baby I try give him my attention(easier said then done I know) How old is lo now?
It has got ALOT easier over last month. A will play on Mat for more then 10mins without screaming.

Chasing YEAH! So exciting.

Apple that is awful. And your not selfish.

Passmethecrisps · 26/02/2014 20:11

And I love the shrug pp. The colours sound great. The idea of that as a wedding coverup is really nice.

I remember avoiding all spoilers about the sixth sense years and years ago. I wanted to see it but it was back in the day when it took years for films to go to VHS. I honestly think I avoided it for about 18 months. Then one day I was watching Jack Dee and he just blurted it out! I was Shock

Ah well Grin

Kyz · 26/02/2014 20:14

Evening all :) teehee, glad you liked my epic post :) I am glad to be sat down today, E is cutting another bloody fucking bastard tooth so has cried and moaned his way through today whilst ignoring everything I say and being really naughty. Why is it he's naughty when he's ill or teething?

Anyway...

Awww bplp that does sound adorable! E is quite sweet with giving cuddles, only it involves putting his bulbous head on anyone's chest/leg/anything. This isn't so good with baby e my sister, who is just cruising around furniture etc! He bowls over to her like a lab or something, it's funny but I always hold my breath and get ready to steady her lol

Hey gt one week and three days now :) your mil sounds like she nitpicks at bloody everything, would drive me crackers

yw is it normal liquid or a baby one? I have teething gel and adult liquid stuff somewhere but might need to buy more, not sure.

Oh bless her fatima hope she feels better soon though

Yaay eliza that's brill re e's weight! :D

vq fucking hell! it sounds awful at Valium castle, I hope you're all better soon!

Sounds like sleep is still going well flouncy :) I don't think you're being unreasonable requesting that j stays in his travel cot either when he stays with your mil

Bless her donna I'm sure your dd will settle towards your lo :)

Ooh congrats on the weight loss pr well done! Only in my wildest dreams would I be an 8 lol

Oh sophia poor o, I hope he's better soon bless him

Fantastic chasing so pleased for you!!

Glad last night wasn't tooooo bad lily hope o is better soon. Seems to be all I'm saying ATM, so many poor poorly quiche babies :(

Eek apple that sucks :( and hope your fil gets better soon. I get you with the money thing though, it seems to happen here too, every time I save some money up something happens, like the car breaking or a vet bill

So pleased his lungs are clear pikz that's fab news!

That's lovely pp

Hope your bil is serious apple

Lol thanks for the intel lily I must be the last dexterette, am halfway through one of the earlier episodes of season 2. Episode 4 I think I'm sure I'll have forgotten by the time I get to the series you're on!

Hope everyone has a good night tonight! I did get a bit of good news today, both rats have been discharged as it were, so hopefully just a case of finishing antibiotics for both boys, which is ace! The rest of the day has been crap and I don't want to post about it all so there's my nugget of they day to share xx

Passmethecrisps · 26/02/2014 20:17

Hooray for ratty home time!

And kyz you have reminded me. . . flouncy it would be over my dead body that j was back in bed with someone. 'Whatever's easiest for them' could mean back to square one for you. After all your hard work it can't be worth the risk.

Kyz · 26/02/2014 20:20

Lol for some reason pass I am less calm at home usually! I have really struggled with today. He found a loose bit of wallpaper behind the sofa and ripped it off, he has thrown things all day and dropped to the floor wriggling and whining lots when I try to move him away from something, he has completely ignored me all day, he doesn't listen to me at all :(

YellowWellies · 26/02/2014 20:23

Kyz yay for the ratties and boo that the rest of your day was pants. We just use the normal adult anbesol (there's a dosage guidance for kids on the side of the bottle) xx

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/02/2014 20:23

Another Dexter virgin here Smile I keep meaning to watch it but by the time I get round to it I'll probably have completely forgotten your post lily. In fact I already have, and pretty much what everyone else has said.

apple. that sucks. sorry about your fil.

vq sounds awful. I hope you manage to get some well deserved rest.

sophia E seems to have a sock fetish and loves a digestive biscuit or 2 so sounds like her and O would be a great match for each other not thinking about your lovely house that I can come and stay in, not at all.

We had the cleaner in today and my house no longer smells of cat pee, hurray!

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 20:29

pidj I know. People say just have a small wedding at the registry office but when you sit and add it all up even that's not cheap. Where we live it's £175 for room hire at the registry office, other counties seem so much cheaper than here.

I bought myself two beautiful rings today to cheer myself up, one in platinum and the other gold. I couldn't decide between the two so got both Grin One will have to go back when I've made up my mind. Could be my wedding ring sorted and I have seen the most adorable little suit and tie for C.

lily I haven't seen dexter yet. I will get there one day. I only saw Downton after the first two series had finished on tv. I bought the box sets and watched them back to back on mat leave. Finished them in a week.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 20:37

I tried to watch Downton as I quite like period drama but just didn't enjoy it. Same with Call the Midwife.

Bloody hell you have to pay to get married at the registry office? I'm sure I didn't pay here. I did pay however for copies then sworn translations of my birth certificate which was a real pita. I get registry offices wanting to charge a nominal fee to cover actual costs and avoid being pissed around but aren't they covered in our your taxes?

GTbaby · 26/02/2014 20:40

Lol lily I've seen it Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 20:41

Forgot to say that's great news pikz for clear lungs and great news about the rats kyz

GTbaby · 26/02/2014 20:46

10days till they go 10 days. Into single digits in 3hours. Yes that how much I'm looking forward to it.

PurplePidjin · 26/02/2014 20:48

Think I might be the last complete Dexter and everything else virgin, I don't buy dvds as they're a bit of a luxury purchase at the moment so CSI in an odd order thanks to 5USA is my limit Wink
