Everyone cross their fingers that 3.30 appt doesn't lead to another broncholitis hospital admission Hmm

ditsygal · 26/02/2014 08:33

fatima I've been on lots of "weekend" hen do's in the past few years (pre F anyway) and I guess they usually fall sotmewhere between 100-150 all in (excluding travel). It's usually in a big house rather then a hotel and then a tesco shop is done for food and alcohol to avoid meal out costs.

I am so ready for today to be over already. F has been up in the night every night for the past 11 nights. It started out with illness and is now just habit. Last night was 1.30-3.30. I had to leave him to cry for 20 mins in the end and then go in and settle him as staying in there with him just meant he would dose for 5 mins and then jump up again.

I just hate leaving the room as he instantly stands up and gets hysterical and doesn't stop until I return. I am at my wits end.

Flouncy you are inspiring me with your success sleep training. I am more open to the idea of CIO then ever before. I would give anything for some sleep right now.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 08:34

Fingers v firmly crossed pikz

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 08:45

Ooh just came across the prenatal November 2014 group in active convos. They are just starting out.

ValiumQueen · 26/02/2014 08:56

I am not well Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 08:58

Bugger. I phoned MIL and said I wanted to keep O at home and did she want to take Ds1 to tots and she said "oh no, I'll stay with O and you go to tots as you don't usually get to go" I couldn't really say I don't care I don't like it. So I am stuck going. You have got to laugh. Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 08:59

Hugs vq like you say it was inevitable just chalk it up to one more immunity gained! Thanks

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 09:04

That's nice of her soph in that she means well. Enjoy... :o

Flowers vq hope you feel better soon.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 09:13

Ha ha.

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 09:13

PR Well done on the weight loss.

Fatima I would only do a weekend hen do if I was given plenty of notice to save. I usually plan my holidays around 6-9 months in advance so if I was given less notice than that I probably wouldn't go. I think if you go abroad or away for a weekend you should also have a meal or night out locally for those who can't afford/don't want to go on it.

I've got my fingers crossed for you pikz

PetiteRaleuse · 26/02/2014 09:55

Once the school holidays are over I'll be able to go back to the pool. You can't swim properly in school holiday time. Haven't properly swum lengths in ages! Can't wait.

YellowWellies · 26/02/2014 10:19

Soph I bought my bulbs on EBay as it was better value for money. Plant in drifts / clump them together and don't be Envy when you get straggly singular snow drops in year 1. They clump up over the years. So far I've got snowdrops, crocuses, miniature irises in flowrr and tete a tete narcissus are just appearing. There are also anemones, crocosmia, tulips and Siberian bluebells to come. They make me smile as I walk up the front path. I also naturalised some bulbs in the back lawn but given it's Betsy's race track they are a bit more errrr trampled?

ChasingDaisy · 26/02/2014 10:52

I got the job! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 11:01

Yay chasing!!! Grin Thanks

Lily311 · 26/02/2014 11:45

Well done chasing. I'm so happy for you.

We had an ok-ish night. She has been awake since 4 though but only took her out of cot at 6.20. She is much better today, thank you for the reassurance yesterday. I can cope being on my own but I panic when she is poorly, I want my baby to be happy and healthy.

My social life picked up, 4 mums are always texting me to meet up. It's kind of weird but good for O as well.

kyz you are awesome. Such epic post
vq so sorry you are feeling shite.

Baby groups, in London I took O swimming, baby group, baby massage and singing. Here only singing once a week. Everything else is expensive if you don't work and you don't have any kind of income. I don't even get benefit here, such a bad system. Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a part time job but not sure how to find one. There are no part time jobs, at all. Also I need to finish uni first. Arghhh.

flouncymcflouncerson · 26/02/2014 12:19

And clearly links aren't possible from the app!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 12:37

Brilliant chasing that is such great news. When do you start?

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 12:45

We just had a call from MIL. FIL has been in hospital for 2 days now with kidney problems and needs an op Sad We have no choice really but to send them some money otherwise they won't operate and it sounds like it could be serious. Don't know how much yet or even if we can afford it. Shit.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/02/2014 12:59

Shit apple. Thanks

ChasingDaisy · 26/02/2014 13:34

Shit apple that's horrible Sad I hope you manage to get something sorted x

Sophia, I'm not certain on start dates yet - I need to wait for my offer letter to come through. I told them that I don't have any childcare until March 21st though as my parents away and they were fine with that. There is currently somebody in the role, but she is actively looking for FT work. So, I need to think about childcare now. My dad is going to have him a couple of mornings a week, and I think I will put him in nursery the other three mornings. There is one attached to the children's centre we use so I will have a look at that. Need to speak to my job advisor lady at the job centre to figure out Working Tax Credits and childcare costs etc. I am bursting with happiness - 7 people were interviewed for it - and I had convinced myself that I hadn't got it.

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 13:37

We have some cash in the bank that we were saving for other things so technically we can afford it but our wedding etc will have to be put back. Again. One step forward, two steps back. Feeling very down.

applepieinthesky · 26/02/2014 13:45

I know FIL's health is more important and I feel a right cow for being so self centred in a situation like this but I feel like we are never going to have the money to get married. Whenever we have a bit of money it always ends up going on something else. I've already been patient and waited 11 years.

How many hours a week is it chasing?

ValiumQueen · 26/02/2014 13:58

Apple would you consider just getting married on the quiet? On the cheap ? Then have a big blessing as and when you can afford it?

I have ripped my oesophagus again. Boo. Quite a bit of blood in my vom.
