Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

12 pcm is 6g over there right? My GP prescribed me up to 6g a day for a few days when I broke my back and was being weaned off the strong stuff, and after that was down to 4g. After my ELCS due to the stomach issues I was only allowed 3g which was not very much tbh for post op pain but I prefer it to morphine which is now the only other painkiller I am allowed. After my stomach surgery they gave me a morphine clicker but I hated it so much I hardly used it - they kept bollocking me but I preferred the pain to the weird mindfucking side effects.

Thanks ditsy working back from bedtime dosage makes sense.
I don't normally give ibuprofen but she's not normally so off colour. She's currently fast asleep in my arms! Rare occurrence

Just seen the article you shared on FB, I went to uni with the writer. Never know how to take work after remembering her at uni

FatimaLovesBread · 25/02/2014 11:44

Sorry the last paragraph was to Pr

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2014 11:46

It was a great article. I don't recall reading her stuff before.

applepieinthesky · 25/02/2014 11:56

I didn't know it could be so dangerous. That's awful VQ

PR when C has done a poo I ask him if he's done one and he goes and brings me a nappy and packet of wipes. He likes to hold a wipe in his hand while I change him and often tries to wipe himself.

I have no idea what is a good age for potty training? I would like another baby in spring/summer next year and am hoping C won't be in nappies for very long afterwards.

ValiumQueen · 25/02/2014 12:00

Yes your calculations were correct. She had lemsip too. I was told if she had not had the lemsip she may well have been fine so yes, 6g is upper end of 'safe' but not without medical guidance. She had the most beautiful long brown curly hair. She is one of three four patients only that I remember vividly.

PurplePidjin · 25/02/2014 12:10

I bought R a potty, simply because I spotted them in the 99p shop and everywhere else is over a fiver Hmm I sit him on it before his bath but so far nothing. He's always, even at a few days old, got grumpy if he's in a dirty or overly wet nappy (disposable or cloth, makes no difference and is usually the reason for night wakings) and if I ask if he needs a clean bum he will head either for the pile of nappies (if we're at home) or for the nappy bag if we're out and about - he even heads off to my parents spare room or MIL's bathroom if we're there as that's where I change him! His receptive language amazes me. He took MIL to her front door on SUnday as if he wanted to go out, she said they needed the key so he went to my handbag and got my keys out. He will also go to the correct bedroom at SIL's if you say Where's Dniece or where's Dnephew Hmm bearing in mind we only see them every few weeks. He also goes to his high chair if I ask if he's hungry, or the nappy bag if we're out.

He slept for 30 minutes but woke grumpy so I changed him like it was a night waking and he's gone back to sleep. Hurrah!

VQ Sad

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/02/2014 12:18

evil that sounds really wonderful. Want to give you a big hug.

Thinking pr might be dangerous now she is allowed out Grin

Have spent all morning fannying around getting the car sorted. Is now on it' sway to the ford dealer. They said I can have a courtesy car through ford assist as the garage haven't got one. But. I live In The middle of nowhere so they don't want to bring it all the way to me can I meet them half way. Shock erm! no (SIL is ill and pils could not drive that distance) not till DH is home on Sat. "Have you not got a friend who could bring you?" " erm, nope. No friends" Grin afterwards I thought that must have sounded really tragic, I didn't tell her we hadn't lived here very long.

Anyway, have left it in their hands I am quite happy about being stranded this week as I have made all my plans.

applepieinthesky · 25/02/2014 12:20

pidj He sounds like a bright little boy. C has been the same with wet nappies since he was very small. The only reasons he wakes at night are because he's teething or he has a wet nappy so I have started cutting back on the amount he drinks before bed and it has made a huge difference to his sleep.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/02/2014 12:24

I find that I proven is much more effective for a temp, but like everyone else says be careful if you have not used it before. A lady who worked for me had a bad reaction to it and was very poorly indeed.

Everyone around me is dropping like flies through colds and bugs and I really have to say, I think have said it before, since I started homeopathy when I was ttc O I have not picked up anything that is going around. A minor cold here and there but nothing that has kept me in bed or off work or even unable to do stuff.

Really must do some jobs. Wasted half a day with all that palava.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2014 12:30

I suppose it was the lemsip that did it then. Would an empty stomach have an effect too? It's very sad and bloody unlucky.

apple toilet training depends on when they're ready. There's no set age. DD1 was trained at 2.1 - the first couple of days were not brilliant, after a week she was clean then had a day long relapse at about 10 days. Since then she has had one accident, maybe two. She still wears a nappy overnight but it is always dry in the morning - she refuses to go to bed without one though Hmm

I chose to train her then as it was spring and warm enough to run round nappy free and she had started developing thrush and nappy rash, so no more nappies cleared that up very quickly. It was easy after the first few days, except for the regression day. I toilet trained a toddler as an au pair - she was 18 months (the parents insisted) and that was much much harder.

From what I've heard boys are ready later than girls. I think I'll possibly try with LO during her summer break from nursery in August, but will give up very quickly if it is too soon, then will try again when she is two, or maybe leave it til the Christmas holidays when she'll be 2.2 and will have two weeks off nursery. But won't try in summer if she doesn't seem ready iyswim. There's no point - if they're not ready they turn it into a battle that you can't win (my neighbour is going through this atm as her French paed has been piling the pressure on Hmm - my Lux paed is much more relaxed about that, and speech, and milestones in general than the French seem to be) But you'll know when he seems ready.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2014 12:37

soph dangerous? Moi? I am just enjoying a curfew free life :o

I should warn the neighbours actually - it appears they have started writing on orders that their parcels should be delivered to me. I signed for one today just as I arrived home. I don't mind signing for packages one bit but actually noting on the order slip that they should be delivered to me without telling me is a tad Hmm . Wouldn't mind but these particular neighbours hardly speak to me except when they pick packages up.

PurplePidjin · 25/02/2014 12:42

apple R wakes for a drink in the night so I leave his cup in the cot with him. I'd rather change a nappy than have him dehydrate - I'm appalling at remembering to drink enough so trying extra hard to give him good habits! Since he dropped the last evening feed he often whimpers in his cot when I first put him down, grabs the cup for a few mouthfuls then snuggles himself down happily. On the odd occasion I've forgotten to take a cup up he whinges till I take one it. I do know he can sleep through as he does it maybe once a week. When he's teething he does occasional really strong wees though and that's what wakes him up at c. 2am, sometimes in a relatively dry nappy which is boosted and the combination has done 15 hours before now.

My potty training plan is to just keep role modelling and wait for him to get the hang of it. That's what my mum did with me (dry at 2.3) and my friend has done with her dd (dry by day at 2 and night now at 2 1/2) so unless there's an exceptional circumstance of some kind I'll just roll with it neglectful mother

applepieinthesky · 25/02/2014 12:51

I sometimes give C a few sips of water in the night but won't let him have too much or he will wake again with a wet nappy. I make sure he has plenty in the day time.

I'm waiting for DP to come home for his break then want to get out of the house for a few hours. I'm bored today. C has been asleep for nearly 2 hours. The dog is asleep too. Not sure whether to go shopping or go to see family.

Lily311 · 25/02/2014 12:55

Potty training??? Wtf is that? I'm going into denial mode and will dump O on my parents when she is ready ;).

We have a potty, an ikea one. She puts Brunyo and her toothbrush in it every morning. Hmmm

PurplePidjin · 25/02/2014 13:08

R has been asleep for 1 hour and 40 minutes. I think it might be his longest ever nap! Hurry up, child, I'm hungry :o

Passmethecrisps · 25/02/2014 13:13

Afternoon!

Our pharmacist suggested brufen at bedtime. P has had a horrible sicky response to a cheap brand one but is fine with nurofen.

No potty training here. P stands vaaaaaaaairy still and has a middle distance stare when she is pooing.

ValiumQueen · 25/02/2014 13:20

Fucksticks J is vomiting again and praying for lumps. Cot covered Hmm DH is off tomorrow but I will need to get Thursday off I think. Nasty bug. Hope nobody else gets it.

ValiumQueen · 25/02/2014 13:23

He was face down in it when I went in. Coming up intermittently to scream, like he was doing front crawl, then slapping his face back in it. Plonker.

Passmethecrisps · 25/02/2014 13:36

Poor wee J! Sounds horrible.

ValiumQueen · 25/02/2014 13:52

He pongs of acid poor scrap.

GTbaby · 25/02/2014 14:02

Argh. Lost post!

Summary

((Lily)) ((pp))
((Vq))

((Everyone))

A was us every 1.5 hours after his fab start and 3 hour stint. Think it's cos he is in our room. But don't know where to put him.

StuntNun · 25/02/2014 14:24

Where on earth do they need you to pick up the car from that's so far away Sophia?

J is asleep. On me. Except he keeps opening his eyes to make sure I won't traitorously put him in his cot.

OP posts:
Lily311 · 25/02/2014 17:39

Ok, little girl clearly has had an awful day. Pls tell me she will be ok. I nearly put the movement monitor back in her cot, she never was so ill. I think she has sore arm and leg as well as teething.

vq poor j.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/02/2014 17:44

lily she will be fine. I think the older they get the more traumatising jabs are. Don't worry x
