I want a larder and airing cupboard Envy

Passmethecrisps · 23/02/2014 21:48

Me too. In many ways the Victorian tenement flat we rented out has more space than our new build house. House is mucho warmer though

Passmethecrisps · 23/02/2014 21:50

I don't get it pp, I can't possibly. But being able to go out elsewhere and have adult company in the evening (are you?) must be making a huge difference. The history of the room itself has to be hard.

PurplePidjin · 23/02/2014 22:02

It was just one night, we're home now - hence the ability to spell, I'm on the lappy - but yes, it's the history. I spent a week with no curtains (she moved the weekend I gave birth!), no cot, no push chair (had the sling but no one could take him for a walk or anything for me), limited internet on my rickety old bb, a rustly duvet and 2 very flat old pillows trying to establish breastfeeding with a 5 week old baby who wanted fed every 2 hours round the clock and barely gave me time to wash even if someone could have taken him for me, except his cries upset autistic dn so I spent a lot of time just pacifying him so we didn't have two upset children to deal with. And fit in visiting df in hospital 30 minutes away at times when R wanted to sleep or feed. While relying on MIL to offer food and drinks because I either couldn't get to them or didn't feel able to help myself due to shyness and a misplaced sense of politeness - breastfeeding made me absolutely ravenous! I learned to hoard chocolate in the nappy bag

How am I not depressed again?! HmmWine

Passmethecrisps · 23/02/2014 22:06

Genuinely? I have no idea. You have incredible character. R is destined to be a force Grin

PurplePidjin · 23/02/2014 22:08

I love my larder, it's a complete mess and no one can see! The boiler needs replacing as it's on an internal wall and the washing machine lives in the larder so I'm planning to turn it into a mini laundry room with a new combi boiler, washing machine underneath then drying racks over the top. Then the boiler cupboard can house the cleaning equipment I can't fit in the coat cupboard in the hall. Not sure what I'll do with the airing cupboard which currently houses a steel ginormous water tank thing, getting it out and down the stairs will be a challenge! My flat is 60s and is basically a 2 up 2 down on top of some shops. It's definitely got more floor space than newer houses iyswim

PurplePidjin · 23/02/2014 22:10

Seriously Pass. I don't think I joined the quiche until afterwards, R was originally due 2/12 then moved to 30/11 at the first scan so I kept (still do actually) with the December mob. Will tell the story if anyone's interested, but will need to be tomorrow now, I'm shattered (ILs are 2 hours drive away) and off to beddy byes Wink

Passmethecrisps · 23/02/2014 22:15

Xx

BigPigLittlePig · 23/02/2014 22:23

Thanks for the thoughts laydeez. Need to find a way to discuss it sensibly with dsds mum, could be a challenge. Poor girl is all over the place.

Meant to say earlier, pussypig alive and well. Was obviously just prompting me to sort the pet insurance Hmm.

Pidj, ypu are a superstar.Sleep well.

PurplePidjin · 23/02/2014 22:24

btw my in laws are teetotal Shock

flouncymcflouncerson · 24/02/2014 00:07

Well he went down at 8.15pm and we've not had to go in!! He screamed for around 30 seconds at initial bedtime and had woken twice since but stopped within a few minutes both times!

ValiumQueen · 24/02/2014 04:09

J has been sick all night. Guess it is a bug after all. I will be off with him today and A/L tomorrow and daddy is off Wednesday. Quite looking forward to calling my boss. Now I do not have to worry about promotion. My clients won't get seen, but I have to put my boy first.

StuntNun · 24/02/2014 06:16

Sounds like great progress Flouncy.

We are a house of plague as well VQ. Confused DS1 was sick twice in the night and woke J up with his screaming. He always screams when he's sick, it's very weird. Today will be his first day off sick from school in years. J was only sick once last night but up five times before midnight and screamed from 4-6 before letting out a huge fart. His poos are white as well so who knows what's wrong with him. I wondered if his past history of reflux could have made him more sensitive to tummy bugs.

Hugs chasing. Were they about anything in particular, or non specific ? You are doing so brilliantly you know.

StormyIsles · 24/02/2014 06:53

How did last night go flouncy?

Pp you are a much stranger person than me. My parents are teetotal too (well my mum and stepdad, biological dad is an alcoholic waste of space...).

I have asked xp to take over dog insurance seeing as he's keeping him. He wants me to just cancel it "cause if he injures himself he'll just get shot". I was literally in tears last night thinking about it. He was vile all evening, slagging off me, my family and my best friend Hmm

StormyIsles · 24/02/2014 07:16

STRONGER

Fucking iPad. Sorry HmmBlush

Lily311 · 24/02/2014 07:18

Awful night here again, she woke with a temp of 38.8. Also on second poo already, pls little tooth, come through now.

bp my sister's eldest daughter is the same. She is so obsessed of how she looks, also make up is regular on her at the weekend. She would not put trousers on and it mustn't be blue or green. She is only 8. The middle child is 6 and she is not there yet thankfully.

isles hugs, he is horrible because he can see you will be more than fine without him.

chasing hugs

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 07:19

Isles, Chasing, Pidj, Stunt, VQ Sad lots of sickness, stress and Sad news at the mo. Not sure if J might be ill too. He wanted fed twice in the night so DH volunteered to settle him and promptly changed his nappy - I hadn't noticed he'd pooed! My preggers nose is clearly shit. No pun intended boom tisch.

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 07:20

Lily cross post Brew

Thechick · 24/02/2014 07:40

Was it a full moon yesterday? H was ill too, temp of 39 and rapid breathing. We had to give the inhaler and bring him in with us. He's still sleeping now, poor love.

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 07:42

Chick maybe - we never get night poos! Mindst he did eat a tonne yesterday.... including a very fibre rich dhal.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/02/2014 07:43

bp I think that is really concerning. My DD2 is very girly, likes to choose her clothes and play with a bit of make up but not seriously. Dd1 just wears what you put out. They both do quite a lot of gymnastics and are active girls. However, I think it is an age where they start to become aware of themselves and their bodies. Not by design but happy accident, the photos I had done last week I think did quite a bit of good for their confidence. The woman kept telling them how gorgeous they were and getting them to do different poses. They felt really special.

I would love to hear your story pp we missed out on it before. And as I am stranded here today pretty much I might need some good chat.

Please please please send all good car vibes this way today. Mainly hoping they can actually look at it I have already been 3 days carless halfway up a mountain.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/02/2014 07:55

Morning quiche. Sorry to hear about so much illness. My two (and me and Dh) have got colds and I saw the chest physio go into nursery this morning which means bronchio-fucking-litis is doing the rounds so fingers crossed.

Will be busy on my sexcond freelance project this morning. It's about shoes this time. I now know more than I ever wanted about the history of various shoe brands.

PurplePidjin · 24/02/2014 08:17

yay Flouncy how was the rest if the night?

and Brew for the poorly ones

ValiumQueen · 24/02/2014 08:17
