Hi all - the old thread was about to run out so I started a new one.

Little Miss was up to mischief last night. Thankfully it's DHs day off today so he took her into bed with him while I slept in the spare room. She is just so excitable when she wakes up at night. It can can 90 minutes to scrape her off the ceiling.

Mrs, DD is a bottle refuser but will take water from a (free flow) sippy cup so it might be worth a try (she has water with her meals as recommended at the weaning class).

Ahh, DD waves too when you tell her to. Not always though!

Mrs81 · 01/05/2014 10:08

Hmmm. We manage water by day (though not masses). I might try it at night again though (tried a while ago....v cross baby!!)

No waving yet, sounds v cute, but lots of clapping Smile

Sunbeam18 · 01/05/2014 11:53

Lots of lovely catching up! Pink, my thoughts are with you. That guy is a bloody idiot. You are a complete trouper doing all this on your own, with very little sleep too. I have huge respect for you.
Re sleep, we got a whole night of sleep last night!!! First time since September. He slept from 8pm till 6am without a wake up!!!! Yesterday he had only one long nap from 12 till just after 2, and he also had a large portion of haggis for dinner! Wonder which of these swung it?!
We have a bedtime routine, but he does usually wake once for either bf or bottle (depending if it's me or DP doing that night). We do co-sleep from the wake-up onwards as it's the easiest way to get sleep...
We have bye-bye accompanied by waving since yesterday!!

RueDeWakening · 01/05/2014 22:58

Yay for wavers! M is a keen waver, but sadly not on command. Much to the annoyance of DD and DS1 who like him to wave them off at school/preschool. I've tried explaining that he's not a performing seal, but they're not having it :o

How many naps are LOs on these days? I can't remember when they move to one nap a day, M still has a longish nap in the morning and a 45 minute one in the afternoon - he's starting to fight the afternoon nap, but since he goes down for the morning one about 10am and wakes about 12/12.30 he can't last till bedtime. What to do?!

hedgehogy · 02/05/2014 07:14

Ha, strangers are always trying to get DD to wave when we're out - she won't do it for strangers. I think people presume she's older than she is.

DD still has at least two naps a day, sometimes three depending on the timing of the first two. She has one a couple of hours after waking; that used to be a couple of hours long but has shortened to around an hour recently. She then has two to three hours after lunch. If she has it soon after lunch then she needs another short one later in the day to keep her going till bedtime, as she can still only stay awake for two to three hours before she gets really tired. She sleeps through at night, so it works for us.

hedgehogy · 02/05/2014 10:01

I forgot to say that DD kisses me on demand now, which is really cute. And she kisses and cuddles her teddies. She won't kiss anyone else though - I think DH is too stubbly as she puts her hands out as a barrier instead!

SunnyL · 02/05/2014 19:06

How are you pregnant ladies doing on choosing names? While I'm not planning on being pregnant again for a year or two DH and I keep pondering girl names. I very stupidly have said he should probably choose the next name since I won on the last one.Wink

Schoolgirl error there, Sunny!

We still have our boy's name unused from last time and have chosen a girl's name too. So all sorted with ages to go. It's flying past though. :-) Less than 3 months now. That's a scary thought!

DD also kisses on demand. But only through her playpen bars. It's too cute. She's very good at waving on demand and says a passable hello and bye bye as well. Worrying!

DD has two naps. One a couple of hours after waking and the next is just after her bottle at 1.30 ish. She usually has between 80-90 minutes, except the other day when she barely had 1.5 hours all day.

BeanCalledPickle · 02/05/2014 21:10

Oh that's funny, I feel that my boys name was very much for that baby and I'd have to pick another for next time!

HungryHorace · 02/05/2014 21:26

It took ages to come up with and we really like it, so we are happy to use it if this one us a boy. :-)

Opinions are probably split on it though!

SunnyL · 02/05/2014 21:47

Tell meeeeeeee!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 02/05/2014 21:50

Names? Not on here, I'll put them on Facebook though. Too public here as we aren't telling family til baby is born!

Sunbeam18 · 02/05/2014 21:51

I'm very envious of these good nappers. Today we got about 45-50 mins in the morning and 10 minutes in the afternoon, and this is from a boy who wakes at 7am and goes to sleep at 745pm. Why is he never tired???
How do you lot manage to get showered, hair done, make up, etc in the morning? I really struggle with this as I have to get ready before his morning nap as he will only nap while out in the pram.

HungryHorace · 02/05/2014 22:18

The baby jail is your friend here! DD loves hers. :-)

hedgehogy · 02/05/2014 22:24

I'm not on the fb group, I want to know!

DD is happy to play by herself while I get ready.

Mrs81 · 02/05/2014 22:32

Another nosey non facebooker!

We have baskets of toys in our bedroom/dining room/lounge for keeping ds entertained while I do stuff around him. And he loves "helping" me hang out washing (ie pull wet washing from basket onto floor) Smile

SunnyL · 03/05/2014 04:29

Sigh. Going through another patch of insomnia. Thursday I woke up at 5, yesterday it was 4 and today I woke up at 1.30am. Bored of being awake through the night and tired through the day. Child will be up in less than 2 hours. Oh the joy.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 03/05/2014 05:23

I'm awake too. I woke at 3.42, dropped off again, but woke again just after 5. Sigh. I'm so tired, why can't I sleep? :-/

Hope you drop back off, Sunny.

SunnyL · 03/05/2014 08:09

Went back to sleep from 6.30-8.00. it's going to be a loooooong day Sad

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 03/05/2014 08:54

Tell me about it! And we've got so much to do today. :-/

curlyclaz13 · 03/05/2014 14:22

Day's like today really make me hate work. It is busy here and I wish I was at home enjoying the weather with my family. Sleep is elusive here still waking several times and feeding back to sleep. Last night he woke at 12.30 then at 2 but didn't really go down again til after 4. I made OH deal with it in the end for the first time as he is off. He moaned about the worst nights sleep ever this morning. Welcome to my world for the last 11 month's!

When i'm on my own I have the jumperoo in the bathroom to occupy him while I get ready. Downstairs I leave him free range in the living room for short jobs or put him in the sling on my back for long jobs.

SunnyL · 05/05/2014 18:53

Squeeeee. The in laws have just bought a huge caravan that's for all of us to borrow. Looks like that's our summer holidays sorted out for the next 10 years. Yippee!

OP posts:
RueDeWakening · 05/05/2014 20:26

A towing caravan or static? Either way, excellent fun.

Much the same reason I like my parents living in France! Nice and easy summer holidays for years to come :o

AlohaMama · 05/05/2014 21:39

Lucky you Sunny (and Rue for that matter). Am always jealous of my DSis who's IL have a luxury caravan in Poole. Not that'd I'd want ot go there all the time but still a free holiday is a free holiday Smile.

SunnyL · 05/05/2014 22:41

Its a touring van. I will happily admit to having spent many an afternoon looking round caravans at local sales offices and drooling. It may make me old before my time but if you've ever lived in a tent for 6 months you'd also appreciate the joys of a chemical toilet and built in fridge.

Europe here we come! Grin
