Nope. She never actually took an adequate nap yesterday. But you've completely explained what happened too, Frus! She slept on me intermittently for about 10 mins at a time until I would attempt to put her down then she'd scream and be awake. She was up a few times last night too and did the same thing. I was crying, she was crying, DH was pissed off b/c it was 2 am and I was begging him to JUST DO SOMETHING. Twas not good. I've got some major under-eye dark circles going on today. Sad

I've send DH out on a mission to find a bike for kid number 2 as DH ran over the trike. We shall see what he comes home with.

Happy Easter weekend Smile

I've been offline. Same issue with passwords as Kitty.

Also having sleep issues with bpear but not as bad as it could be. Bpear has been clinging onto me (like literally tearing my clothes) when I put him down for no reason at all...putting it down to separation anxiety?! He was better today.

Kitty what birthday plans have you started on? Exciting!

I still can't decide what 1st b'day present to buy!

Bring ~ yay for barbie loving baby and yay for spotting breech Wink

Frus & Agnu - love the sound of your outdoors DIY efforts. All I've managed is Easter baking!

peardrop2 · 18/04/2014 23:14

Lor ~ your picnic sounds lovely! It's a shame they're on the move... Picnic time when they were just happy sitting would have been perfect Grin Still, it is pretty cool that they now notice their surroundings including sticks and mud Smile

peardrop2 · 19/04/2014 06:20

Arrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh I need to scream!!! Bpear has woken up with another cold. No doubt caught from my delightful germ sharing NCT group again as one person and their baby had a cold this week :-( Really really want to say something to them but know I can't Angry

AGnu · 19/04/2014 08:09

Oh dear pear. That's miserable! Runt's had a cold for forever but he doesn't seem bothered by it. He doesn't care if he's got long strings of snot hanging out of his nose or that he keeps spraying food everywhere when he coughs with a mouthful! Hmm

Some of you were in hosp for a while before/after having the baby, weren't you? I need some ideas for a friend of mine who might be stuck in for the next 2 weeks. She's got a low placenta & has had lots of bleeding so she's being kept in with a view to a c-section at 34 weeks. She's been in for 2 days & is already getting cabin fever! She's only eating healthy things at the moment so I can't take chocolate. Any ideas for entertainment/healthy snacks?

peardrop2 · 19/04/2014 09:18

Hmmm maybe it's just a small cold after all. Felt like the end of the world at 5:15am. Why does my child never sleep until 7am. Boo !! Apparently it is very common for boys to be early rises Hmm

Agnu ~ mini cheddars, dried apricots and mango, yoghurt raisins and blueberries. Oh and magazines.

Lorelei353 · 19/04/2014 09:45

Agnu does she have a tablet? You could buy iTunes credit or similar so she could download some films? Or books to the kindle app?

Slobbery kisses are lovely.

So, I had a horrible day yesterday.

DO NOT READ AHEAD IF YOURE SQUEAMISH ABOUT EYE INJURIES

DH, DS and I rented a Zipcar to do an ASDA run to get lots of food and some new clothes for DS. We put DS sitting in the trolley, did our food shopping and were looking at the clothes. We picked some up and put them in the trolley and the next thing I heard DS scream out. He'd grabbed the clothes and somehow, god knows how, had managed to hook the hanger into the outside corner of his eyelid. When I saw him I had no idea how bad it was. I just saw him shaking his head and a hanger hanging out if his eye. I feel sick just thinking about it. Anyway I managed to keep him still and unhook the hanger from his eyelid. His eye was bleeding but at that stage I was just cuddling him to calm him. DH grabbed a member of staff and they called an ambulance. They were with us in five mins but even by then I'd managed to get a look and his actual eye looked okay, in spite of the blood. So, a trip to A&E later, where an ophthalmologist had a look, and he's fine. He has a graze along the inside of his lower eyelid and a superficial scratch on the white of his eyeball but that's it. Phew. Poor little lamb though. We have antibiotic drops to ensure no infection but it doesn't seem to be bothering him at all. I'm a tired wreck though. I couldn't sleep for picturing that hanger in his eye. Terrifying!

Welcome to the scary world of parenting eh?

Omg! Lor that's awful Hmm Thank goodness all is OK x

Lorelei353 · 19/04/2014 16:57

He's fine now. Not bothered at all. It doesn't look too bad today. I've aged about 10 years. Sad

a&e was really quick too. Hardly any waiting around. Even the consultant was down quickly.

bringonthetrumpets · 19/04/2014 18:01

HOLY CRAP LOR ! Shock That gave me 10 new grey hairs just reading it! It's the beginning of a lovely string of injuries that kids get themselves into. DS1 has already have 2 lots of stitches in his chin and both boys have had countless head knocks, M has already split her gums wide open around her new tooth

agnu See if maybe a private massage therapist or a manicure/pedicure gal could drop in to pay her a visit for a special treatment? A big bag of homemade trail mix, homemade lactation cookies (you can eat them before lactating too Smile ), I second the electronic credits for online magazines or movies (amazon prime has pretty much any movie you can think of), a nice new comfy dressing gown or some slippers, an essential oil diffuser.... or you could plan a small in-hospital baby shower for her if she hasn't already had one?

Frusso Squealing definitely counts as a word! Very cute about the kisses!

M has started saying "hiya!!!" to everyone with a big ol'wave.

ds is highly active and energetic little thing so I think he's going to be one of those boys who has bumps and knocks and stitches growing up. I'm 37 and have never had an ambulance called for me and the only stitches I've ever had have been the ones in my fanjo after giving birth!

I have to stop reading. Totally freaked and have an urge to drive to Sainsburys to buy a life long supply of cotton wool SadBlushHmm

peardrop2 · 19/04/2014 20:50

I should add I do not like stitches. Locked myself in the bathroom when 10 years old so that I wasn't taken to hospital for stitches!

peardrop2 · 19/04/2014 22:36

Anyone else experiencing a real spell of separation anxiety?
