B'jesus. Stop growing little children! Wow. I can't believe we already have a walker on the bus. and that he's gonna be 1 year old so soon!

Sounds like there's a whole lotta talking about balls around here today Hmm Wink Would either of you be up to acupuncture for a treatment option?

M is cruising. She only proper figured out how to crawl 2 weeks ago and now she's cruising the living room furniture. It's ridiculous.

Bring ~ I don't think I could handle the pain but if it was that or large steroid needles I might try!

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 06:30

Just worked out why bpear has a rash on his chest. I've been rubbing baby Vicks on him there. Perhaps I'm not meant to?! Oops Blush

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 06:50

Just looked on the Boots website and it says that the baby vapour rub can cause a rash on the chest. Think I will try putting it on his feet when I next use it.

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 09:17

Pear, this website is good and has most of the ones I was told to do

www.summitmedicalgroup.com/library/adult_health/sma_de_quervains_exercises/

The only other one is the EPL stretch from this site, which I found hard but one of the most effective

www.physioadvisor.com.au/14912850/de-quervains-tendonitis-physioadvisor.htm

The physio I went to didn't actually do anything, he just told me to do these exercises and stretches. He never did any work on my himself so I'm not sure I'd bother if I were you. The only other thing that was useful was that he gave me a spica to immobilise it at night which is when it hurts most. He also told me to put ice on it, but also to do the exercises in warm water first thing in the morning to warm it up. With all those exercises, 5 times a day I had a massive improvement so the big steroid injections weren't needed. I get low level pain now so don't think acupuncture would be necessary either bring

Nearly 1 frus ? Eek!

DS had been cruising for weeks and is pretty stable now so I don't reckon it'll be too long for him either.

How's it going kitty ? I'm really getng to the point where I'm ready to go back to work. Most of my NCT group are back at work, or away or have moved out of London. DS is also too big now for lots of the groups or activities we used to do and the next age group up have far fewer groups and all seem to be at times that clash with his afternoon nap. I'm finding nit hard having less to do and people to meet up with!

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 10:36

My brother's wife is in labour! Eek. Grin She's been in hospital since 4am. Exciting. I'm dying for some news. I was only in hospital for 1 hr 37 mins before I had ds so I'm very impatient. Can't relate to being there for hours!

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 10:51

Lor ~ thank you for the link. That's really helpfulThanks I'm very Envy!! I was in hospital for 4 days Sad dreading do the birth part again! Keep us posted with your family news. Do they know what they're having?

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 11:14

It's a boy! They didn't know before, no. She had a c section apparently. Don't know much more but all is well and he's SO cute! Grin Grin Grin

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 11:15

So my brother, sister and I have all had boys in the space of less than 10 months!

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 13:07

Awwww congrats Auntie LorSmile

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 13:54

Lor ~ I know what you mean about play groups being at the wrong time. I'd like to take bpear to gym class or swimming but they both start at 9:30 and he normally naps at 9am. It's never on time so I don't want to stress myself out by committing myself to something I could be battling to get to every week. Soon there won't be a morning nap and then we will have much more flexibility. Will you be working full time?

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 14:00

I'm going back 4 days a week.

AGnu · 03/04/2014 14:03

Awww more babies! Grin DH won't even let me have a cat, let alone another baby! Envy We're currently in negotiations to decide whether we can take on a friend's dog for a few days!

I can't believe you've got a walker Frus! That's so exciting/scary! I'm pretty sure Runt can pull up on things now but we don't quite have anything at just the right height for him to stand properly. He keeps getting himself elevated a bit using the shape sorter cube but it's not tall enough for him to straighten up! He'll easily pull himself up holding onto my arm though. The problem comes when I stand him next to something, like the sofa, that he wouldn't have been able to reach without assistance & he gets so excited that he lets go or tries to turn around to smile at me! Grin I do keep forgetting that he can't walk/stand though. I try to put him down like I would with Calf & get surprised when he seems to just crumble! Blush It's useless trying to sit him down these days though - before I've even let go of him he's on hands & knees & ready to go!

Lor Don't go back to work! Stay here & talk to us! Grin

Lorelei353 · 03/04/2014 17:35

I'll still be around to chat Grin

bringonthetrumpets · 03/04/2014 19:15

Aww, great news Lor! Hopefully all the boys will grow up to be best buds! Are you looking forward to returning to the adult world?

Pear, every birth is different! The second usually goes much faster Wink Plus 2nd time around you know what to expect and how to plan and prepare for the labour better.

Heading to another 36 week home visit tonight... which means I am now on-call for 3 mamas! Holy buckets. I can just see them all coming in the span of a week and I'll ask myself WTF I started doing this again. Or, I'll get the birth-bug again and love soaking up all the oxytocin and newborn smell Grin

Oh, and we are expecting 12 inches of snow tomorrow. Isn't that exciting? After all the f'ing white shit melted we get another foot. Bloody f'ing fantastic. Angry

My sister already had a four year old girl so she'll be queen bee with the three boys!

That said it sounds like it was an awful experience for my brother. They decided to do a c section due to lack of progression and the baby's heart rate being too fast. No massive emergency and all very calm, so down she goes to theatre, and they got the baby out fine. She held him briefly but then said she felt faint and that was it, she crashed. My brother with baby was ushered from the room to just hear alarms going off and grim faced staff rushing into the room with crash carts and things. He was left for over an hour thinking she had probably died before finding out she was ok. They don't know what the cause was yet but she's fine now. My poor brother though, mall alone in the hospital thinking his beloved wife was gone. Sad

Omg Lor Hmm Thank heavens all is fine. It's scary stuff giving birth Shock

Bring ~ That's kind of you to say & I kind of believe you, well half believe you. My head really wants to believe you Smile If you tear 1st time are things less likely to do things like that second time round?

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 22:21

It's weird how you forget how painful it was. I was trying to remember the pain the other day. All I could think of was dying pain but I can't remember what that feels like so it didn't help Grin

peardrop2 · 03/04/2014 22:22

Frus ~ don't you mean you know you can't plan so you don't plan? That's the one thing I did learn. You can't plan.
