OK second/third time mums I need your opinion. I brought the common Vtech Walker for DS at Christmas. It's been great as he has enjoyed sitting up and playing for ages. Now he wants to walk it has become a real danger hazard as it is so light it flips up and I have to always be with him. Even then it rushes off without him and he no longer enjoys it. So, today I came across a lovely wooden walker that has a stable frame. It's called the Tidlo Walker and is £40 on Amazon. Here's my question...what's the life span of a walker? Is it worth us getting something more stable for this stage that DS will benefit from or is it such a short time period that he needs/will use it that it's not work the price?

peardrop2 · 28/03/2014 20:43

We need the news!! Agnu she's probably forgotten about our little bus Wink

AGnu · 28/03/2014 20:52

I've reminded her of our existence pear! Wink

Calf has a trolley with blocks in which served as a walker for him. He preferred holding our hands & never got the hang of pushing it until long after he was walking confidently! Now he enjoys dragging it round behind him & building towers with the blocks. It's just a wooden one from mothercare so didn't cost the earth!

So are you saying I should buy something more sturdy and that it will be worthwhile?

peardrop2 · 28/03/2014 23:23

Frus ~ your lion walker looks good. The reviews say not for tall babies so it probably wouldn't be good for us.

We never had anything pear, I think tiger may have used them at nursery or if we went somewhere but IMO the lifespan is very short and they prefer to hold fingers or walk very quickly while trying not to fall between objects, this is something I'd only borrow or buy at a car boot if I was going to

peardrop2 · 29/03/2014 18:32

Thanks ladies Smile I'll try hard to constrain myself Blush

bringonthetrumpets · 29/03/2014 19:16

Feeling very snotty and bunged-up. More of my own mother-woes and her complete lack of being enthusiastic at all about spending time with my kids. At least the weather is getting better and M is sleeping longer stretches at night again. Gotta find the silver lining.

Hope you are all well!

Well, we've had three days this week of DS having a temperature and sleeping in with one of us, if he slept at all. I did a half day of work on thurs, followed by a long lunch with my manager and maternity cover, and got home to a very upset and strung out DH. He'd only had about three hours sleep, to make sure I'd had sleep before work, and DS had been an ill, crying and miserable handful. Very unusual for him and DH is brilliant at looking after him so not normally an issue. Also DH had a Skype presentation to do at nap time and DS unusually woke from his afternoon nap and DH had to hang up on his client.

Anyway temp is back down, but he's definitely sleep resistant today. Total meltdown this afternoon.

Hope this sleeping lark settles soon.

AGnu · 30/03/2014 09:33

Just remembered I haven't told you about my biggest achievement from last weekend... Within an hour my well-fitting wired bra was transformed into a nursing bra! Grin I'm v pleased with it & have only taken it off at night or to wash it! I luffs my wires!

Lorelei353 · 30/03/2014 15:02

Happy Mother's Day!

Wired bra! Can we wear them again while still feeding? I miss decent bras so much.

peardrop2 · 30/03/2014 17:42
