Are u giving a morning and afternoon snack? I'm only giving morning.

kittykatsforever · 26/03/2014 07:40

I don't really give snacks unless we are having something or kitty is like fruit but they do have their tea quite late at 5-5:30, I just gage it by how much they've had in the day but kitten does eat loads, she will never turn it down if I offer so in trying to be carful not to give her too much! She will easily eat a toddler meal size thing and would still have a fruit pot or something after, there doesn't seem to be a full button yet!

peardrop2 · 26/03/2014 08:33

Hmmm I wonder if Calpol would have helped us?! The problem is bpear always struggles to settle again so I think it's just a long battle for us Hmm It must be teething because he's showing strong signs this morning. I've just given ibrocalpol in hope that he has a longer morning nap now. Longer then 30 minutes anyway! I still don't think he's eating enough (4 ice cubes max if it is mashed up and probably less if it is finger food). Normally I give mashed and finger food so he can have the best of both but lately he's only wanted finger food . I'm sure it will work itself out just seems harsh when I've worked so hard on sleep training. Can't win Smile

kittykatsforever · 26/03/2014 08:45

That's the trouble with kids, it often feels like one step forward two back! Have you tried him with things like pasta pear? Adult ones they can hold like fusili, that's carbey and filling and he'd probably enjoy it and just let him sit and eat it until he's bored

kittykatsforever · 26/03/2014 08:45

While she's teething kitten loves a rusk to naw on aswell as they are quite hard!

Lorelei353 · 26/03/2014 14:55

I don't give snacks in the morning. DS has his tea around five and might have half a rusk around 6.15 when DH and I are having ours, to stop him giving out!

AGnu · 26/03/2014 15:59

We don't really do snacks at all. Sometimes we'll use a snack as a distraction if we're out but they rarely have anything between meals. Runt is still bf on demand so might have a snack-feed some days. Other days he'll only have a feed before bed. We're in a different time zone with our meals! Grin Breakfast usually happens sometime between 9 & 10 unless we've got to get out earlier. Lunch is 12-1ish & dinner's not until at least 6. More like 7 if we wait for DH. Neither of them seemed bothered by the wait. Occasionally Calf will start asking for something while I'm cooking but not often. They both eat plenty at meals though so I don't doubt they're getting enough. Both of them probably eat more than me over the course of a day. Mostly because I can't eat first thing & regularly forget lunch! Blush

Lorelei353 · 26/03/2014 16:31

I bf a few times a day still so I suppose that's snacking!

bf around 6-6.30
breakfast at 8
bf at 11
lunch around12-12.30
sometimes bf at 1.45 before nap
ff at 4
tea 4.30-5 depending on how ff went
rusk at 6
bf at 7.20 before bed

then one night feed that can be anywhere from 1 to 4.30!

22lbs!!!

peardrop2 · 26/03/2014 18:01

Oh wow. I could not survive without 3 meals a day. Bpear is the same so we tend to eat together a lot.

Kitty - no I haven't tried adult pasta yet. Thanks I think he would enjoy the twisty type!

peardrop2 · 26/03/2014 18:04

HV thinks he doesn't need milk in the night and I'm doing the right thing as he should be sleeping through without it by now. She suggested I try and up his food intake and try healthy snacks in the day if that does not work. He's put on weight since that stomach bug so all is well.

Lorelei353 · 26/03/2014 19:47

I eat three meals plus snacks!

22lbs! That's impressive. DS is 8.52kgs, so about 18lbs 12 I think.

So hv really thinks they shouldn't feed at night? Mine wasn't so categorical about it. I'm still feeding DS at least once but whether he needs it or not is another question. My hv is very much if the opinion that when it comes to sleeping/nights nothing is a problem unless it's a problem for you - so waking twice is ok as long as you're ok with it. If you want to tackle it then go for it, but there's nothing wrong with it as such.

peardrop2 · 26/03/2014 21:05

Oh bugger Hmm I over fed bpear tonight as he was sick in his cot when I put him down Shock

M is a little peanut. She's still only 17lbs. Our doc said the same thing, although she was much more geared towards the cavity department. We're just going with it. I think it's all advice and we should do what we think is best for the littles.

We're still trying to get back into the groove of her eating at all. She hasn't been interested in food for the past few days, so it was nice that she actually let me feed her today!

Now I've got the bloody cold Ugh.

So, how is everyone coping with hair washes? Bpear refuses to lean back so tonight I had to tip water over his head Hmm I can see this is not going to get easier!

kittykatsforever · 27/03/2014 20:37

Ha ha pear, all kiddies seem to love beans! Gota love those carbs!
We tip the jug over her head, she doesn't like it but hey in hoping it will make her better at swimming Grin
