I second third, fourth, whatever the bm in the eye! I know a midwife who tried all sorts of different eye drops to get rid of her conjunctivitis and ended up asking one of her clients to donate a small cup of bm. Cleared up within 24 hrs. Sounds gross, but it's wonderful stuff that we make.

Sounds like he's just work those last little tummy troubles out pear As long as he doesn't seem dehydrated and still sick I guess I wouldn't worry about it too much aside from the carpet and your DHs watch

No worries agnu I hope I didn't sound like a Miss Priss with my post. Blush It's just something that we are quite on-top-of in the homebirth world.

Hooray for a sleeping tot frusso! Hopefully the others in the house slept so that you could catch some sleep-eye.

Hope you have a wonderful time today agnu!

My text: Just had another explosion. DH: When will it end?!?!?!?! Think he's had enough of smelly nappies Wink God knows I have!!!

kittykatsforever · 22/02/2014 18:57

Grin Pear that made me smile fx tomorrow!
How do you like it frus? Have you had a chance to use it?
Pear I just put food straight into the tray aswel, sometimes I use a plate but it does end up on the floor more often then not

peardrop2 · 22/02/2014 19:27

Yeah I too have been using a tray but thought that maybe I should be using a bowl as it's not like I put the highchair in the dishwasher everyday although I do clean it with spray everyday. It's so annoying that companies can sell all these rubbish products! Does nobody test them? Surely someone does? It's like the wind up frog piece of crap I brought from Mothercare. It's the worse toy I've seen in ages! Noisy, clunky and hardly moves. I want to start a website solely listing all the rubbish items out there to stop other mums wasting their precious coins. No nonsense just a plain and simple page where parents can list a photo of their item, where it is from, how much it cost and why it's crap. OK rant over Wink

Frus ~ sorry I was skim reading earlier and missed your good sleep news Smile yay! Is that the first time you've had that amount or first time in a while? And yes let us know when you've tried the car seat out!

peardrop2 · 22/02/2014 19:37

Actually thinking it over...all the items would be categorised like highchairs, weaning, nursery furniture etc otherwise it would be a minefield and not simple at all Wink

I have been working as a poo-doula today for M. She's having a really hard time with pooping and is so fussy about them. I've changed 4 little nugget pop nappies today. Oiy! I think I might take a page from kitty and start adding prune juice!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 22/02/2014 21:26

Frus ~ absolutely right!! Top and Tail bowls are going on my site!! Who are these people who like them? Send them to me hahah! I told my DH about my site idea. He thinks I've lost the plot Smile I just need to leave the house...it's been 5 days Grin

I know the car seat pads are HUGE! Bpear wasn't sure at first either. Took us both a few car trips to get used to it.

Bring ~ let us know if the prune juice trick works for M! I think I'll be next to try that. Although this is not our current problem Grin

peardrop2 · 22/02/2014 21:27

Oh and Frus I will have a counter for each product. You can click on agree or disagree so we know now many agree Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 22/02/2014 21:44

Make that 5. At least these nappies I don't like a whole lot so we're going through them quickly!

I can't sleep again Hmm mainly because I've been stuck indoors for so long I'm too hyper in the evenings after having a couple hours of human contact tv.sounds crazy doesn't it Hmm

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 03:22

Ahhhhhhh I feel like I'm going to go loopy!!!! I'm not feeding bpear solids (apart from a Fromage frais and some scrambled egg for lunch yesterday) because of all his bad nappies but he's so hungry and waking in the night, now won't go back to sleep and in the day he's not napping well. Shall I just start introducing solids again even though he's got the runs? Gawd why does no health expert HV prepare & help new mums with this stuff! How the hell is a ftm meant to know what to do!!!

kittykatsforever · 23/02/2014 07:29

Pear things like rice and chicken are great for upset tummys and toast ( the former is what your told to give dogs and cats lol but I give them to tiger when she's been sick as a baby)
Website sounds great, things like this are how great ideas are born, think trip advisor etc
Bring that's the kind of nappys we were getting, little raisins every bloody hour, I'm still adding in the prune juice every other day, I was getting sick of how often I was wiping her poor bum!

kittykatsforever · 23/02/2014 07:30

Oh and found another tooth, top side?! Random!

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 08:56

Wow kitty. Another tooth Smile

I was thinking about baby rice and carrot for lunch. Too random isn't it? Carrot and pasta shapes. I've defrosted carrot thinking it would be easy to digest.

I think you're right. Rice it is.

AGnu · 23/02/2014 11:33

I should be at church. I'm skiving! We left the house at 9am yesterday, drove to South London 2.5 hours plus 45mins break for breakfast & getting into smart stuff, spent 3.5 hours with DH's family before organising a spontaneous trip to visit his GM who's recently moved into a home before taking 4 hours to get home, including time for dinner & changing back into PJs! Finally got home at 11 & managed to transfer 2 sleeping boys straight into their beds! We only had a drink & then I made DH get to bed - I had to ban him from tidying anything! Twas a nice day though! Very hectic - about 20 people in one house! Calf behaved beautifully once he was shown a box of cars, until it was time to leave - oh the tantrums!

For the record, I never iron anything. Even DH's work shirts are easy care so we tumble dry them & hang them straight up! The outfit I wanted Runt to wear had been squashed into a box because he's only just going up a size so was horribly creased. DH & Calf wore unironed shirts.

Love the website idea! It can be a useful tool for all new mums to avoid filling their house with useless junk! Talking of new mums, someone I know has just introduced their newly adopted daughter on Facebook! I'd been wondering how the process was going - last time I saw her they were still going through the initial approval process! New DD looks to be about 9m-1y so I'll have to try & catch up with her. New parenthood is hard enough when they're tiny let alone at this age when they're really starting to show their personality! Grin

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 15:20

OMG. Day 5 of messy nappies and I really am loosing my hair now Hmm Baby rice was gobbled up but since then yet more nappy issues. I'm completely stuck now. Do I hold on giving him chicken & rice tonight...probably yes. God knows. Definitely calling for some guidance tomorrow even if it's crap guidance Confused I looked up diareeah in my baby health book and it says that it normally only lasts 3 days and if this is gastritis then it's been a week tomorrow Shock

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 15:29

Agnu ~ glad to hear you had a nice time out. Sounds like the change if scene did you good Smile

bringonthetrumpets · 23/02/2014 16:27

Just following on what Kitty said about foods to give dogs when they're sick, pumpkin! I wonder if that would be a good thing to mix in some cereal, pureed pumpkin? I would also add in cultured foods like yogurt, kefir, miso, and adding a little bit of probiotics (just open the capsule and pour some into yogurt) to help re-balance the good bacteria in baby pear's gut. Also things like bone broths and coconut water are really good for nutrients as well when it seems like things are just running through him. A week is a long time to be dealing with someone else's sickness Sad Hope it gets better for you both sooooooon!!

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 17:20

Thanks bring. I brought some natural yoghurt this evening and was thinking about giving him a teaspoon as dessert.

kittykatsforever · 23/02/2014 20:13

I'd definatly stick with the food though, if he didn't want it he wouldn't eat it and if he's only having milk his poo won't thicken up as it'd be like when he was a baby, stick plain though, lots of toast or bread and what bring said x

peardrop2 · 23/02/2014 21:01

Toast goes straight on the floor. Cheeky monkey! He used to love toast! I'll keep going Blush
